Something you might consider is getting more of a lineman type boot. They have tall heels much like a cowboy boot. With those you could literally walk into woods spurs on and leave them on while on the platform.

Might let out a bit of slack on your lineman too. Happy Thanksgiving.

I'd find a way to hook tree spurs up while taking them off just in case they slip so you don't have to go get them and climb back up . Pain dropping stuff and having to go get it . Been there done that . Got busted 3 times one day couldn't figure why till I got down found my wallet had fell out of my pocket to much oder on it .

Check out eastern outdoors one stick with 3 step aider and then get a madrock black repel clasp. Easy up and down the tree

This may be a dumb question, but I drop stuff all the time, what do you do if you drop them to the ground? Now what

bro why are you spiking the tree coming down? use your lifeline to repel. add a chicane to your prusik to make it super smooth and you’re golden. i use a zigzag lol sometimes just chicane and prusik but it totally eliminates spiking on way down
