The film follows Ana Maria and her family through her quince celebration. I've often wondered what has changed and what is still similar now, 20 years later in the celebration of quinces. I was just at Vienna Austria for 2 weeks the dance from Andre RIEU concert looks exactly like a quinceanera dance & style It’s honestly the city of music & very beautiful city lol that’s why I’m here cuz it reminded me of a lot of Mexican and Mexican American culture (depends on who you are of course ) God bless

Thank you so much for your comment! That’s so exciting! Quinceanera traditions, in my opinion, have changed and evolved so much in the past years. I think that an intimate ceremony/celebration of life with your family before the big party should be considered. It does not have to be religious it can just be something that you consider your closet friends and family being present and celebrating you! In the end, this is YOUR celebration and you should do what makes you feel like a true quinceanera. I hope this answered your question lol
My family just had the daughters married off at 15. My grandmother was married off to my grandfather who was 21 years her senior as he was seen as a good provider who could take her out of Mexico during the Mexican Revolution led by Pancho Villa. That was back in the day of arranged marriages
