Finally, the 8 done right with the tops direction of wrap correct direction as well. So many do the 8 but finish in the wrong direction on the tops . The direction id tightening the wrap as the rider rolls their grip when climbing on the tops. well done.
Thank you - I’ve watched so many videos on wrapping bar tape. This is the only one that makes it super simple - that 1cm trick is GOLD and you can actually SEE how to do the figure of 8.
This is BETTER explained than any videos I watched tnx our local bikehouse are not professional so I'm thinking of doing it my self cuz they do a really bad work
This was the best and most perfect god damn how to on bar tape ever. The only problem I have is the tape not starting counter clockwise on the left side.
in my experience, if you wrap the bars this way, you're not loosening the wrap if you're riding on the tops pulling back on a climb, this way it'll stay tight. if you get me!?
Just about ever World Tour mechanic wraps toward the frame from the drops CCW on the right and CW on the left, especially the ones on SRAM teams (Movistar, Trek, countless women’s teams and soon Jumbo-Visma.) Why, might you ask? Because it’s easier to wrap a figure-8 around the plastic lever body without leaving the clamp exposed. Regardless of which direction you wrap, if there is enough tension on the bar tape, it’s not going to unravel.
This was useful. I prefer to wind the tap from the outside rather than from the inside too. I should have gone closer to where the handlebars widen though.
Yes, i think you have a point… especially if the bar tape is flexible. But if its a more firm, plastic like type, i guess you may wrap it either way… 🌞✌️

You’re wrapping in the wrong direction. Wrap clockwise at the right side of the handlebar and counterclockwise to the left side of the handlebar.

There’s no right or wrong direction to wrap. Personally For my my riding style this is the best as the tape tightens itself while i ride
