Thank you. I just enjoy my own canoe. Often you can't rent one conveniently, and return times are such a pain. My buddy and I also did much of this trip in a long daytrip. Didn't make it to Cranberry, and only went in part way on Round Lake, but it was still gorgeous. I also recommend highly another trip I posted a year or two ago (Nine Mile (a different one), Brotherson, Woodland Lakes). That is another great area (and also free parking and access to Nine Mile Lake, as with this Nine Mile Lake).
I tried everything. I hit a lot of shoals, went around all the islands, into coves and overhangs, and also trawled off shore. Nothing. No bites. I found a school of willing 1/4 lbs smallmouth in a cove by the portage to Fox Lake - but that doesn't count, otherwise zero - that kind of day. And absolutely nothing on Fox Lake, which had perfect structure. I tried my usuals, also surface plugs, deep cranks, rattle lures. Not a hit. Not even perch. But I will try again in the future. Fall fishing can be great or terrible sometimes. I know that from the same lake I fish in Temagami.
@canoeman1961 wow unreal thanks for the info. Good to know you found a school of 1/4 lbs smallmouth on the lake so you at least know bass exist on the lake!
Very inviting area for a quick escapade. Thanks for the video

Try any fishing on Round Lake? Any luck?

Nice video, love the drone shots. What kink of drone are you using?
Thanks. I use a DJI Mavic Air, which is about 4-5 years old, and is pretty stable for being quite small. It's easy to pack in.
That's awesome. I just got my first drone, a DJI mini 4 pro, I'm looking forward to taking on a canoe trip this spring.@@canoeman1961
