  • I was told this was a trip I needed to undertake. Being 63 years old, I figured it had better be sooner than later. I started in Sturgeon Falls on a calm morning. I canoed across Lake Nipissing, down the French River, through the Old Voyageur Channel, east through a canoe route connection to the Bay, and then on open Georgian Bay to the Key River/Hwy 400. Since the Voyageur Channel, connection route, and the Bay were so spectacular, I decided to keep the camera running. This video has the camera predominantly facing forward, not at my nostrils. I hope you enjoy the scenery, peace, and quiet, of this exquisite part of Ontario. This is not a trip for beginners, as open water canoeing and weather changes need to be planned for. The rapids I ran can be portaged (or lined in one case).
