All im gonna say is that bringing a straight port from mkdsdx isn't a good idea and it evidently shows with the uvs on this track and a lot more can be done with this track in detail compared to DS
The maple Treeway music is perfect for this track
No it isn't. Only the Sweet Sweet Canyon music can be perfect.
yikes. i've never liked MKDS deluxe, but i like it even less on the wii. the track models are just too poorly made and low poly to accomodate for the wii's much more enhanced graphics. don't even get me started on the poorly mapped textures. if you're gonna port a CT from the DS, the least you could do is make it look and play better. basically what josh said.
I agree JCL Kaytwo
The music needs to be sweet sweet canyon
this is sicc
why bad DS version
This track is terrible, even for an MKDS CTs, there are way better looking MKDS CTs out there.
It was made in the worst was possible way, with the worst possible tools.
Outdated tools that nobody in the MKDS CTs community even uses anymore.
A lot of people in the community work for months on ports like this, and do their best to bring out the best possible.
while MKDS Deluxe pumped these tracks out in just a few days, and it shows.
Yikes.... this is true laziness. To begin with, the model was already poorly made for MKDS Deluxe. The textures are cropped out from screenshots, the uv mapping is abysmal, and everything is super low poly which is to be expected for a MKDS track. BUT, whoever ported this had the audacity to do a direct port and not even bother to clean up the model or use better textures and make it look pretty. It's a shame when CT creators do the bare minimum work and release something like this while others work their asses off for months to put out something spectacular that often doesn't get acknowledged until it gets into CTGP.
Really, MKW CT creators should not take DS custom tracks and port them as is. MKDS tracks can only have around 2048 tris while Wii tracks tend to be around 25,000 tris, it's a huge difference. Use that opportunity and make something incredible, take advantage of what the Wii can do. In all honesty, MK8 and MKT tracks should be made with time and effort, a lazy port won't cut it. We as a modding community should do better.
I suggest that this track (and all other MK8 tracks) deserves a faithful recreation made from scratch. If you can't model, learn, especially if you are considering a career in Game Dev or Animation. Then, you can make epic stuff without having to take someone else's work. Anyways, that's all I have to say. You can make a rebuttal if ya want. :)
u made dolphin shoals i dont want to hear it
Even by DS standards this model looks bad, porting MKDSDX CTs in general is a bad idea. Btw to clarify, it's not like DS crashes when the model has more than 2048 tris, that's just the amount of tris you can view at once, before some faces start disappearing
@@Zachruff that was a mistake lmao At least I made the model from scratch though because I didn't have access to the model from MK8 back then.
@@Ermelber Yes, you're right. Thanks for clarifying the whole thing about poly count for DS tracks. Not that it really matters to me since I do MKW modding, but it's good to get an understanding of how MKDS renders things in-game.
Neat
Should’ve been called “Maple Syrupway smh
lORD IGGY Sweet sweet canyon was called Maple Treeway
Can you port Wii U Mario Kart Stadium?
Well I know there is already a track but you could make your own version

It’s awfully unsweetened
No pun intended
The track’s graphics are pretty bad
