Keep in mind everyone, if you use 151 and not 181 in the DNS server, it'll give you a "servers are busy or taken down" message. Change it from 151 to 181. I've made this error before. Have fun!
When your Wii u is in Wii Mode, it’s dealing with the same restrictions as a normal Wii, if your wifi is too modern, for a normal Wii, but works on Wii u, in Wii Mode, it’s not gonna work, you need do change your router’s Security settings to WPA2-PSK-AES and not WPA2-PSK-TKIP, then reconfigure Your Internet settings on your Wii u and try again

@@10-volt I tried that and was able to successfully install Wiimmfi, but there were errors connecting once Wii Madden 2008 was open. It said 20100 unable to connect to the internet. List says Madden 2008 is supported.
I think the rock band servers are still up. I did see a comment on reddit that said “yeah just got rb3 online to work on my wii” a couple months ago You won’t be able to buy songs and might have a hard time connecting tho

Either you did not enter the dns properly or your router is blocking custom dns
