This people are crazy!!! The reason everyone of us fell in love with Power is because of how Omari Harwick played Ghost. Hence that's the same reason why till this day we want him back, and it's the same reason why they never putted a death date on his burial stone, thaat's the same reason why they are still using the name Ghost, that's still the reason why they are keeping aluding that he could come back. People are still watching Power because of the fact that we think and most of all HOPES that he is still coming back. Power isn't the same no more after his death.
I agree with Melissa too, the actor always has to bring that character to life. He was like Tony Saprano (James Gandolfini) I don’t remember anything James was in b4 the Sopranos , but he was that show. Now people would still watch spin offs of the Sopranos like they watch Power, but Ghost was and will always be the main charector. So I think the writers and the acting was amazing and both should get their flowers.
I agree with Melissa as well. OMAR HARWICK IS GHOST aka POWER! I was a LATE ATTENDEE to the Power Universe and trust it was HIS AND TASHA(3LW CHICK) ACTING SKILLS which HAD ME DRAW IN as a VIEWER frfr 😅
Exactly. People will watch spinoffs because of the connection to the original. Tariq is Ghost’s son. You’re not watching a completely new show, you’re watching an extension of the original.
If Lawrence Fishburne hadn’t passed to make Hollywood crap it would still be successful though. Omari is known for one role despite being two decades deep. He ain’t getting 200K an episode anywhere else either.
@@sheliadurantvlogs4564he ain’t getting more money to play fourth lead on a BET show though. He killed his momentum. Power didn’t even start to get big until season four. @oophorror2251 Actually, he played on Being Mary Jane prior to playing ghost on power. Omari helped grow power and played the heck out of his role. 50 is just like Diddy.. wants the best show but doesn't want to pay.. 50 wants all of the money too..
People absolutely watched Power because of Omari's performance as Ghost. Some if not most of the shows iconic moments include his character. And at 4:30 Joes literally contradicts his own point. The show runners were able to build up the universe around the equity of Omari’s great performance. Should of payed the man.
I hate when they be arguing two different points at the same time. Omari was a draw, but not the only attraction. I think the issue was he was getting season 1 pay in season 5. Which was the issue. He should of been paid more in the later seasons he was in. He was worth it. Once they killed him the spin offs were not as good as the original. They just keep making shit. That doesn't mean they struck gold.
I think Ish just wanted to argue for the sake of arguing! Mel was 1000% correct on her assessment! Omari Hardwick is Ghos and Power and his versatility in playing duel rolls within the series is unmatched.
Bruh idk if y’all jealous of him or just being funny. Because dude was fasho why people were watching power. I almost think they knocked him off on some hating shit because of the buzz he was getting was surpassing the show’s and they can’t have that.
Where Power lost its strength is the lack of believability after Ghost was killed off.. Hardwick had the most of it the entire show along with amazing acting ability. How can you minimize his role by saying his skill was manufactured? If that was the case then the show wouldn't have lost traction after his departure 🤷 50.undervalued him by paying in increments instead of how STARS normally get paid 💯.
Omari wasn’t overvaluing himself he was correctly valuing Ghost. That’s one of those characters that the actor that plays the role becomes known as which limits that actor when it comes to other roles. Basically if he doesn’t get paid as Ghost he won’t get paid much at all because anything else he’s in people will just see him as Ghost
Exactly. He is pointing out his contributions to the Power Universe and Starz network. His work or lack of work outside of Power is irrevelant to the conversation. He was underpaid for his contribution as Ghost. It’s a character so great that they were able to create multiple spinoffs. Omari doesn’t have to book another leading role for the rest of his career and he’s still a great simply for his work as Ghost. 50 should’ve tried to get him properly compensated instead of giving him a loan.
50 point is he could’ve cast anyone in that role and Omari ain’t getting more money elsewhere so why negotiate yourself out a job. Season five is when a show starts making real money and he left after four. Should’ve just been grateful.

Omari was the draw , he made the show . Sure the writers are very important, however the actor brings the character alive . In reality it’s 49-51 in favor of the actor . A good actor does more to the script and add abit more to a character.
MEL is right..... The entire Power story revolved around ghost, so how can you say its not the interpretation of ghost..... Power Book 2 is ass compared to Power stop playing...... People only watch that off of momentum from Power and the story is so weak they ended the series
I'm glad majority of the comments are giving Mel the W because she was right. Once the actor brings your character to life, they become solidified as that character in the majority of fans' eyes.
When you’re watching a prequel or a sequel, you’re not watching it because it’s something completely new. You’re watching it because of its connection to the original. It’s filling in gaps or getting into more detail or backstory. It’s telling you what happened after. We only care about Kanan because of Ghost. We only care about Tariq because of Ghost. We only care about Tommy because of Ghost. The OG Power led a built-in audience to these spinoffs.
The Power Universe was built off Ghost. You can say it could’ve been someone else beside Omari but it was Omari. Omari isn’t overvaluing himself as an actor, he’s stating exactly what he brought to Power as Ghost. What he should’ve been compensated for his contribution to the creation of a whole Universe. Starz could make a billion off the Power Universe over time. Your main actor who started it all should be compensated.
Just remember: GHOSTS NEVER DIE!!! This is why we love the power universe. Everybody loved Omari as ghost and everything we see til this day, we see Omari.
*Be Clear 50cent was and still is the Draw.* The writing directing and production was the backbone of the show. And the acting took it over the Top but it wasn't just Omari all the actors really killed their roles.
Exactly that was his first popular break. He was great in Mary Jane, and her other guys didn’t have that chemistry..he abruptly left to take on Power. He also definitely made Power, in addition to Kanan, Tommy, etc
I agree with Mel....I don't know anyone that was still hardcore about the Power series once Ghost was gone (with a few exceptions of periodic check-ins on Tommy's sequel). Wonder what the ratings say/said, pre and post Omari tho....

To Ish's point, it doesn't matter what Omari Hardwick was in before power the marriage of the writers and Omari Hardwicks performance attracted more viewers to that show. It cannot be negated that individuals performance married to the writing and directing and the cinematography and all the components that go into it create the entity of Ghost whom we fell in love with. Along with that came the other characters within the show that we fell in love with that's the only reason why we're watching Tariq and Tommy and Kanan we were invested in the story now that we've been attracted by Ghost. I understand what Joe is trying to convey regarding the writers being responsible for Ghost as a character but like Mel said, it’s up to the actor (Omari) to bring it to life. That’s like if I’m a ghost writer and I give my lyrics to x rapper and they make a decent song. Then I give the same lyrics to y rapper and they make a hit with it. It all comes down to the person bringing it to life.
When Omari say he's not getting paid enough, everyone start to blame 50 and Courtney but not Starz and that's what 50 is talking about. 50 himself wasn't making enough on the show, but he still helped out Omari.

You all are tripping if you think Omari's performance isn't why Power turned into that machine. The fact that “Ghost/Omari” is still a topic of conversation on whether he’ll return or if he made the show should tell you everything you need to know about his impact. Omari brought Ghost to life.
Yes he did
Mel dead on the money! First episode and I see Ghost holding some thug in a choke hold … with some suave yet cold line delivery ... I knew this show gonna be DIFFERENT because of THIS actor. Cast another actor in the same role and we would’ve forgotten about the series like we did the spinoffs.

@@bdukes8075 No he wasn't, ya'll are not understanding the build up of equity in viewership. If they would've dropped Ghost/Omari season 2 we wouldn't be here talking about Power spinoffs and how it's still going. They built the Powerverse off of Omari/Ghost so yeah, by season 5/6 they can kill him off an continue because they've exhausted all the avenues of his character and have hooked the audience into the brand as a whole to allow them to. Basically, Omari/Ghost allowed them to build up a viewership they didn't have that would be loyal to the overall franchise once the main character they were tuning into each week was gone.

Idk what these people talking about but Ghost was 100% the “draw”
If that were true why haven’t ppl watched his other shows like that
Omar may have been the fan favorite but they could’ve cast DMX or anyone in the Wire. It’s not Seinfeld.
But did you watch because of Omari or you heard about the character “Ghost”
Nah he was not it was great storyline
Yes, “Ghost” the character and his storyline but not Omari necessarily.
Joes clearly choosing his relationship with 50 cause the actor can definitely make or break the character
I can’t tell you what Damson idris was in before snowfall but could imagine him leaving half way through 😰
He was cooking on there EVERY EPISODE
I agree with Melissa as well. OMAR HARWICK IS GHOST aka POWER! I was a LATE ATTENDEE to the Power Universe and trust it was HIS AND TASHA(3LW CHICK) ACTING SKILLS which HAD ME DRAW IN as a VIEWER frfr 😅
Omari was good, but the storylines and other characters were as well, so he wasn’t the sole draw. It’s why shows like Kanan and Power 2 work
Exactly. People will watch spinoffs because of the connection to the original. Tariq is Ghost’s son. You’re not watching a completely new show, you’re watching an extension of the original.
Good Writing without a Good Actor is like Prayer without any Work. It's DoA.
When the fans are questioning and trying to figure out if Ghost is alive and bringing his character back, that says alot.
It’s 50/50 the best example is Samuel L Jackson in his role in Pulp Fiction, it’s Tarantino’s words but it’s Jackson’s portrayal that made it iconic
If Lawrence Fishburne hadn’t passed to make Hollywood crap it would still be successful though. Omari is known for one role despite being two decades deep. He ain’t getting 200K an episode anywhere else either.
Being Mary Jane was an excellent show..
50 did this to get Omari shows traction! This dude is a marketing genius..
People absolutely watched Power because of Omari's performance as Ghost. Some if not most of the shows iconic moments include his character.
And at 4:30 Joes literally contradicts his own point. The show runners were able to build up the universe around the equity of Omari’s great performance. Should of payed the man.
Melissa is absolutely correct! I wasn’t excited about Power, started watching 3 seasons in. Omari is who kept me watching.
I agree with Mel
For sure. “It is a thing until it isn’t”
The teasing of him coming back helped these last two seasons
I hate when they be arguing two different points at the same time. Omari was a draw, but not the only attraction. I think the issue was he was getting season 1 pay in season 5. Which was the issue. He should of been paid more in the later seasons he was in. He was worth it. Once they killed him the spin offs were not as good as the original. They just keep making shit. That doesn't mean they struck gold.
All facts. All of the spin-offs have been subpar in comparison to the OG series. Ghost/Omari brought the show life.
Facts
He played the character so well it helped to develop Tariq’s character
Where Power lost its strength is the lack of believability after Ghost was killed off.. Hardwick had the most of it the entire show along with amazing acting ability. How can you minimize his role by saying his skill was manufactured? If that was the case then the show wouldn't have lost traction after his departure 🤷 50.undervalued him by paying in increments instead of how STARS normally get paid 💯.
Power wouldn’t have been what it was without Omari, we watched cause of his performance.
50 was paid 17k per episode
If Omari did not accept this role, we would not be discussing Power 10 years later.

Nah, it was because of the way Omari played that character…
When you’re watching a prequel or a sequel, you’re not watching it because it’s something completely new. You’re watching it because of its connection to the original. It’s filling in gaps or getting into more detail or backstory. It’s telling you what happened after. We only care about Kanan because of Ghost. We only care about Tariq because of Ghost. We only care about Tommy because of Ghost. The OG Power led a built-in audience to these spinoffs.
Preach Mel even though it may go above your co-hosts heads and it did🚮 2:23
The Power Universe was built off Ghost.

If that's the case then when Jordan left the Bulls why didn't they do what they did when Jordan was there? Phil Jackson was still there he was the lead behind the helm but you needed a Jordan to bring life and he elevated the other players WHILE HE WAS THERE.

As an actor not just anyone can bring a character to life. The actor absolutely plays the most vital role
When Omari say he's not getting paid enough, everyone start to blame 50 and Courtney but not Starz and that's what 50 is talking about. 50 himself wasn't making enough on the show, but he still helped out Omari.
Seinfeld didn’t make a million per episode until season 9 of his show. First four years he barely made anything. Ghost got got & Starz still renewed it for two more years.
And this is a fair take....but still 50 could acknowledge Omari has a reason to feel the way he does, instead of disrespecting his craft.

Omari Hardwick was the reason for the shows success. His performance made me cop the whole series on DVD, watch the spin offs, and want to buy every full series on DVD. They continued the story...but it is NOT the same
Bruh, it was 6 seasons. And from those 6 seasons. 3 whole shows spawned from 1 show. A whole universe.
You all are tripping if you think Omari's performance isn't why Power turned into that machine. Just because we still watch doesn't mean we don't feel the void of Ghost but his performance together with the writers, in creating this universe made the show great. Even the spin-off script alludes to Ghost coming back occasionally because they know people want that. If that Ninja wasn't impactful for the Ghost character, they should write something and bring him back but give the role to someone else. We''ll see how that plays out

@kingmunchtv new spin off is about the origins of who??? Tate was supposed to get a spin off as well but nobody cares about them bro I watched book 2 and it’s so many people who was waiting for ghost to come back lol
Lmao. Joe's face when Ice asks, "what's a comp". 😅
If Omari was all that he think he is then he wouldn't be typecast now. Everybody sees him and refers to him as Ghost. NO other role he did before or since is mentioned or brought up. Power has continued on without him. Respectfully. Robert Downey Jr is a COMPLETELY different league. He was already HIM before Iron Man.
Yep. RDJr had his first Oscar nom in 1991. Omari been acting twenty years and blew up his own spot.
50 and Ghost is the power behind Power! Ghost is the reason everyone started watching! 🔥💯
2:44 Cap blade put MCU on, not RDjr
Why about the X-men movies ?
@@DontTrustThemSnakesand Spider-man. That bish made like 900M$. That’s when Hollywood really got interested in comics.
Ghost was everyone’s favorite character. He deserved more.
