  • Here's a rare interview segment with Red Foley's band--Grady Martin and the Crossroads Boys! Hear Grady Martin speak and tell bad jokes while holding his Bigsby doubleneck guitar! Also check out studio legend Bob Moore as a young baby-faced member of Red Foley's band! Also, steel guitar legend Bud Issacs, fiddle maestro Tommy Jackson and more. Priceless stuff!

@@standelman95 Hey. Thanks so much. He is my dad. He was born in 1929. Passed away in 2013. He played on the Grand Ole Opry. He later became a dentist and had a recording studio. Johnny Cash was a patient of his. Those were some great memories. This video in particular is amazing for me to watch :)

Grady Martin--the best electric guitarist of them all...a pioneer, innovator, a giant. When he toured England in the band with Roy Orbison in '65, the Beatles were in awe of Martin and his playing--rightfully. Oh, and that Bigsby guitar would be just about priceless today at auction; there were only a couple of dozen made--masterpieces all.

+kentown101 He really had a powerful influence on country and rockabilly music in the 50s and early 60s. Definitely a hero of mine.

Check Grady on early Brenda Lee cuts-try 'Bigelow 6200'. Bob Moore- one of the most in-tune and accurate acoustic Bassists around- on thousands of recording sessions, numerous hits, a Nashville 'A-Team' member along with Grady Floyd Cramer. Bob was on dozens of Elvis tunes-check out 'That's someone you'll never forget', with Hank Garland on 'Echo-Fonic' guitar..Bob's PERFECT intonation-I could go on for days. You had to be a stellar musician back in those days..nowadays, all rank 'musicians' (?)

It's interesting that he refers to the band members as 'boys'. If they were black this would be seen today as racist but wouldn't be.
