i know that my taste in music isn't exactly the most widespread one but this video is my honest opinion - please understand that when watching this. i think that this year was a really strong year for eurovision and i wouldnt say that any song is inherently bad, but this is my opinion and some songs had to be placed lower down!

Anna I strongly agree with you on Ukraine being so low in the jury I was so shocked by it especially with their neighbors usually voting highly for them. I think it was because he was just so early on in the final that the juries forgot about him as there was so many other great songs. I think that’s what failed Azerbaijan too. They were just too early performing in their Semi-Final. Loved the video agreed with a fair amount for the positions. Personally I would’ve put Cyprus, Italy and Croatia lower but you’re entitled to your opinion. Loved it well done 👍👏👏

Austria did so well because his vocals were one of the best and there were so many great songs so that the juries each gave their points to a different country. Austria has a good song, well performed and radio friendly and the jurie agreed on him the most.

1) Latvia 🇱🇻 | the vibe of the song are Beautiful, mysterious too.
Her outfit, her hair, everything was perfect, except the staging.
Quite surprise it didn't qualify.

Ben Evans it didnt qualify because the Portuguese organizers didn't let her do the original staging she wanted and at the jury semi the fireworks went off at the wrong time, her name was written wrongly and the tune of the song wasn't playing in her earphone

I respect your choice, even if my music taste is different, so I will not say that this is a bad or "wrong" list, but still I'm a bit annoyed about the fact everyone says that Michael Schulte (germany) looks and sounds a bit like Ed sheeran (we germans know that xD) and I think you only can understand the song if you understand the message behind this (he lost his father pretty early and he was his childhood hero) and he wanted to honour him in that way so yeah, that was the main reason why we sent him ^_^'
But like I said, I respect your choice and sadly many people forget that music taste is not the same in different countries. I didn't like sweden at all, I loved belarus too. So all those haters: this is a list of her/his (I'm so sorry, I didn't check if you're a girl or a boy ^_^') opinion, so stop hating, if you don't like it, write a NICE comment or leave, but stop being rude!

Also what you said about portugal applies to the big 5 in general, having them peform live in the semis (whether as participants or nah) would stop them all from getting generally disappointing results.

Michael Schulte actually made very good songs after he was at Eurovision, of you like to check that out! They aren't as Ed Sheeran-esque too imo :)
No hate towards Melovin, but his English pronunciations is so off-putting, I can't rank Ukraine higher than 20th in my opinion. My clear and distant winner is Estonia, but with Albania & France in my top 3 as well. All three of those deserved better imo. If you ask me, I honestly think people were really overhyping Fuego, and looking back, I simply think there were better songs. 2018 was a wicked strong year. Too bad most songs fell flat due to *extremely* limited potential in terms of staging.

I think of a song as been like a journey.
It needs to go somewhere.
I'd also add that I felt that the staging was terrible on this song and her vocal seemed too mumbled, when a song like this needs greater projection.

Ben Evans Listen , she was very sad and she didn't feel really well because of the Rehearsal's Juries. That's because they ( Portugals) made many mistakes so the juries didn't vote for her .For example , she nearly got injured as suddenly the fireworks began at the wrong time. As a result , she was extremely exhausted and disappointed.

Thank you for realising that Germany wasn't as good as everyone said. The Netherlands had really good guitar work but Eurovision is not the place for country music.

Ok , I know that nobody expected Austria to do so well in the jury voting part , but he really had an amazing song like dead - amazing song , just amazing , he really deserved it in my opinion. But let me just say about Belarus, I LIVE for his song, such a good song , amazing , stunning , breathtaking , for me at least and the staging too! Even though his vocals weren't at an all time best , he still kinda slayed it! And for Sweden , I purely don't understand from were comes all the hate towards him, like he's really an amazing performer and overall the song was amazing , vocals on point , dancing on point , and don't get me started on the staging , just , just yes , it was fucking great , felt like a music video and I loved it.
