@@sayakamaizono8216 Non-binary genders don't make sense. Nobody can properly define the term and we shouldn't use word if we can't explain what they mean. Gender is directly tied to biological sex. A woman/man in terms of gender not biological sex, is how we see or the traits we typically connect to females/males. Like a woman has long hair for example. It's basically about stereotypes but also about facts like females showing more interest in other people and males being more interested in things. Literally everyone has male and female traits. Defining what a man or a woman is by gender doesn't work because it builds on the characteristics of males and females. And those do only exist as the binary they are. Non-binary doesn't make sense. I don't mean to offend you but it just doesn't make any sense. I've asked countless people to explain to me what gender is supposed to be if it does not refer to male or female but nobody could give me a good answer. What they usually describe is personality, fashion style, sexuality or other thing we already have perfectly fine terms for. So again I don't want to offend or hurt you but it I just don't see how someone calling themselves "Non-binary" makes any sense.
@@kevinkonig3892 That's the thing, it makes absolutely no sense. It basically has no meaning, even though people try to force it to have meaning, it doesn't. It's male or female, case point.
Realistically how many of these people actually have lots of other people asking what sex they are? And they sound like they're always taking it as an attack.
We are taking It as a attack because the fact that people are not educated about the gender specrum at school makes us seem invisible and non existent leading to us having to explain our gender and identidy every time and also leading to a lot of unconftable situacions and maibe It may not be every one asking but there is always that one person and that's what we're trying to avoid so that we can just live our lives normally

Ok. Personally, I believe that there are only 2 genders. however, you are still human and still deserve the same respect as everybody else. I support your right to say that you are non binary, even though I do not agree to it. have a nice day. :)
@kamarii That user isn't saying "people who identify as non binary don't exist", they're saying that they don't believe in this gender spectrum stuff which is not based on science. Like if you are a Christian and I say "that's cool, I support your right to be a Christian but personally I am not a Christian" it doesn't mean i'm saying you don't exist, it means I'm saying I view the world differently from you. Personally I do believe that non binary people (people who genuinely feel discomfort at being male OR female) do exist, but they are a tiny fraction of the already tiny fraction of society that is trans. I think the vast majority of "non binary" people we hear from are just saying "I don't like gender roles" without realizing nobody (especially women) agrees 100% with gender roles. My worldview is that we should abolish gender and only refer to sex when it is necessary. I think we should make previously gendered spaces (changing rooms and toilets etc) into single stalls, arrange sports based on biological traits (which will result in generally being divided among biological sex because like 99% of people are "cis", but can also accommodate for, for instance, trans women on cross sex hormones that never went through male puberty and thus don't have the advantages biological males typically do). Biological sex (which can be identified as male or female in over 99% of births, with a tiny number of intersex people) should be reserved for medical situations and situations where you're having sex with the person only. So in that sense I do not agree with the vast majority of non binary people, because by calling themselves "non binary", they are implying and enforcing the existence of a gender binary (that they somehow have opted out of, hence non binary). And in my opinion gender as a social construct only hurts people by restricting them into different roles. I don't know if the other user thought that far, but I hope that helps understand why people may not be supportive of the identity "non binary".
@@loulou3676 Until very recently I thought a similar thing about non-binary effectively reinforcing the gender binary, but nowadays I actually don't think that's true, or at least I don't think the fact that it is true in some sense means that people who are in favour of gender abolition shouldn't identify as non-binary (for the record I am in favour of gender abolition and identify as non-binary lol). The reason why I think this can be broken down into two points. POINT 1 The first is about the perspective of non-binary people, which is pretty simply that: if you find that the gender role you are assigned is something that you feel stops you from being able to express yourself and really grow/mature in a way that is going to feel autonomous and self-respecting, why should you limit yourself to that gender? I spent ages thinking like that and at one point even thought I'd like to be on testosterone (I was assigned male at birth) because I thought that would make me into a "proper man". I also kept thinking that maybe feeling properly male would be something that would happen to me later, so in the meantime I'm just gonna pretend to feel legitimate in that way to fit in. But if you do that then you're never gonna mature properly or as yourself because any step you take in terms of self-expression and growth is gonna be about trying to assimilate to this alien thing that you just don't understand. You're always going to be trying to live by someone else's standards, and you're never really going to succeed properly either. So in that sense, non-binary is a really useful label because it allows you to tell people that you're not trying to live by the rules of masculinity or femininity, and gives you license to define your own standards against which to judge yourself. POINT 2 I agree that the point I've made so far doesn't really contradict the idea that non-binary reinforces the idea of the gender binary. But biological sex assigned at birth isn't going to go away any time soon, and nor is the ability (or desire) of people to distinguish with relative accuracy between biological males and females based on physical appearance. And on that basis, it seems pretty unlikely that (binary) gendered expectations for how you should act are going to go away any time soon either. The first two major waves (I think?) of western feminism have pushed a similar argument to yours - that we should just broaden the existing gender roles - but they have been around for decades now, and I doubt you'd be that surprised to hear that when I walk around unshaven and wearing a skirt people have *plenty* to say about it (and that's in a metropolitan, supposedly pretty progressive area). My point is that broadening existing binary gender roles is not working as a means of abolishing gender, and that the fact that those labels are treated as the norm works against gender abolition, because it makes it easier to ostracise people who aren't abiding by their rules. By normalising the label of non-binary, we make it easier for people who might not otherwise have recognised their own desire to defy gender norms to do so, therefore making currently "transgressive" gender expression more likely to become normalised. In other words, I think non-binary is a step towards gender abolition. TL;DR 1. the label of non-binary helps people who feel trapped by their assigned gender to express in a more honest way. 2. the normalisation of the idea of non-binary helps people who might not have noticed how their assigned gender restricts them in their life and personal growth to express in ways that are not considered normal for their gender, and to see examples of other people doing so.
@UCHiGJBb53WaIsLhk6Hnfy_A you can't "not agree with being non binary" because it's not an opinion. There are thousands of genders because gender is a spectrum and a everybody experience it differently. You do not support nor care about us so shut up and stop lying

Non-binary genders don't make sense.

POINT 1
The first is about the perspective of non-binary people, which is pretty simply that: if you find that the gender role you are assigned is something that you feel stops you from being able to express yourself and really grow/mature in a way that is going to feel autonomous and self-respecting, why should you limit yourself to that gender?
POINT 2
I agree that the point I've made so far doesn't really contradict the idea that non-binary reinforces the idea of the gender binary.
TL;DR
1. the label of non-binary helps people who feel trapped by their assigned gender to express in a more honest way.
2. the normalisation of the idea of non-binary helps people who might not have noticed how their assigned gender restricts them in their life and personal growth to express in ways that are not considered normal for their gender, and to see examples of other people doing so.
@UCHiGJBb53WaIsLhk6Hnfy_A you can't "not agree with being non binary" because it's not an opinion. There are thousands of genders because gender is a spectrum and a everybody experience it differently. You do not support nor care about us so shut up and stop lying

2. you’re a teenager who thinks you’re above these people because “😂😂at least i know what bathroom to go into” and because you’re proudly upholding a herd mentality or living with your intolerant parents or both

If someone asks me “hey what’s in your pants what ARE you,” they are not getting a respectful answer, because that’s an inappropriate question.

Doesn't mean other cis people don't heavily gender the colors pink and blue
If you're really gonna call this a tantrum then I don't think you really understand the audio.
haunted_ragcloth It’s gendered because biologically men are drawn to one color and women are drawn to the other based on psychological characteristics present at birth. It was also politicized in the 1800’s giving our current schema today.
Should probably read a little before assuming it’s Cis people at fault and not say, feminists or biology.
@@kimmiewise1044 It's...literally cis people's fault though. Blue used to be a feminine color, pink used to be a masculine color. But after Hitler happened they were switched around. It's not biology, it's sociology. People are raised thinking blue is masculine and pink is feminine because that's what we're taught. A lot of cishets then choose to push those ideas on to their children. I'm not assuming anything, because surprise! I actually know things.
Did the doctor tell you that you where a boy when you knew you where a girl? If not then stfu
This stems from the human ego to look unique from others. Ego wants you to feel you are not the same as others you are different, unique and causes further divide. True inclusiveness would only come in a society where people have low ego.

So your saying, just because the Egyptians, Indonesians, Mexicans, North Americans, Norwegians and indigenous people used this identity within their culture, means that it is okay for white people to start referring to themself as they/them? how does this make sense just because they did this years ago?
Some days I feel like wearing boyish clothes and playing sports, other days I feel like wearing makeup and dancing, does this make me non-binary? No, I am a woman with a uterus, but I happen to feel like a tomboy some days, and feminine other days. Why the need for all the labels?
Also, the non binary label IS becoming a trend. Many subcultures such as the gothic community, are now all suddenly 'non-binary', many people i know in these communities all identify this way now.
