Can’t slow down, through being cool and stay what you are are absolute masterpieces. Sucks that Chris is the only original member but the new guys do a good job of recreating it.
I randomly picked up this album at an FYE. When you could just scan it and listen to like 30 secs of a song. I bought it off just a 30 sec clip. I listen to it on blast till this day.
@@crk140 im totally rediscovering this band AFTER 20 years. a hard to receive station played lesser known bands and i had to stop when i first heard freakish
It's gotta be hard to sing songs you wrote as a teenager 20 years later. Stay What You Are was the best. I'm going to go listen to that now and reminisce about high school :)
Does anyone else feel like Stay What You are is peak Saves the Day? I like Through Being Cool, but why is that the one album everyone seems to focus on?
This album was probably the most fun. It’s a blast from beginning to end, and I would gather most fans introduction to the band. Stay What You Are was a huge step forward in artistry and their seminal work for sure, but Through Being Cool is one hell of an album in its own right.
Agreed, SWYA is probably their most mature and best work. TBC is like the dude ranch of saves and you just have to appreciate it so much and so many bands wouldn't be around today if it weren't for TBC.

Everyone. Listen to ‘Sound the Alarm’. Pure rock record. Severely underrated. Thank you.
I totally forgot about that album!
Shattered and Bones are killer tunes. Manny's basswork was top shelf.
Under the boards and in riverie also. The older I get the more they appeal
My second favorite record after through being cool!
man so good...reliving high school summers and autumns right now...My Sweet Fracture was fiiiiiire
my name is also curtis and saves the day was the soundtrack to my high school years bro!

So many memories with this band... great job guys! Love you!
God I love this band, been listening to em so much recently.
Chris' voice sounds great here. Really fun listen.
Hot damn, pleasantly surprised w/ how great this sounds! What a treat
God damn I love this band.
*my favorite band of all time*
Met Chris a few days ago... Such a nice down to earth guy!!
Favorite band for 20 years

Crazy I saw them when the album came out and went to the 20th anniversary show at starland.
Same here, great show
Starland brings back tons of amazing times
Shout out to members of the ol' maroon STD message board.
Hey friend! Like it's '99 and shit.
damn they went hard
I wish they came to the bay area more often
This is just great
Miss Eben, Dave & Ted.
yeah, but these guys have done a great job
Eben D'Amico one of the baddest bassist I've ever heard. His work on "In Reverie" is impeccable.
Diego Ara so good dude. Brings so much flavor to their music
@@balkey312 in what world have they done a good job? I’m not a huge fan of in reverie but everything after that has been pure garbage.
@@doctorsvtvn7472there's some really great music there, open your mind a little
Great vocals.
Yay!!!

Does anyone have the set list from their show at Elsewhere on Sunday 11/3?
I have the one from the day before in jersey but it's the same one... Why?
I had tickets but couldn't go... so bummed
Search Saves the Day @ Starland Ballroom 11-2-19 and you can watch the first part of the set from NJ
Do people in LA still like rock?
Wish Chris could break out of the cult. Russell is starting to make a lot of sense though .

Love that album so much, don't get into any other of there albums. His voice grates me on everything after it.
'Through Being Cool' redefined pop-punk. I feel like 'Stay What You Are' was them finding a sound after they essentially 'grew up'

Stay What You Are was my favorite album in high school. I played guitar in punk bands and they were a major influence of mine.
Agreed, SWYA is probably their most mature and best work. TBC is like the dude ranch of saves and you just have to appreciate it so much and so many bands wouldn't be around today if it weren't for TBC.
Does anyone know who the new guitarist is?
Arun, he's fantastic
Does anyone else find it blasphemy they didn’t play “shoulder to the wheel”?! Come on!
Ads in the middle of songs on this short content? fuck google
Why does he sound more nasal now?
Fried his vocal chords
I thought the same myself. Very falsetto
I think it’s intentional… hope he stops doing that
