Battery registration has been out for awhile now. Mainly on euro:BMW cars when you replace the AMG/lead acid battery. The reasoning behind it is to make the engine operation more efficient by only applying the load needed when the battery hits a threshold to charge or top off; thereby increasing the life of the battery.
So is your tool the MD806? Or is your tour the MD 806 pro? From what I understand they are two different tools with two different levels of capabilities. Or is your tool a newer consolidated model? Does this MD 806 also do TPMS systems reset?

Would this scan tool. Reset the computer?? Reason y I ask is bcuz I took out the throttle to clean and replaced the mass flow sensor and the car started to overheat and was idling really high. Some friend of my dad said to reset the computer so I went to the dealership and they did it for 300$🥺😞😓 it's normal now.
I'm sure if disconnected the battery tap the terminals to drain the rest of the juice out the line maybe turn headlights on then off and leave for a few mins then start the car and let it relearn the idle im sure thats all the mechanic did but sold you a pros talk
Car needs to be running in some scan modes, such as live data, you can read the engine RPM'S for example if engine is running. But To look up stored error codes for example, just turn the key to the start position, but not all the way which would engage the starter motor. I just got mine, and only used it once so far, so I am still learning...
