What many rock stars used to do and what is almost no longer used today is that they did rhythm and solo with the volume pot. They had the volume pot at 8 or 7 and for the solo they turned it up to 10.
That’s the way I learned too. For my first amps I had no channel switches and no pedals. I would set the amp for solo sound and then back off a bit on the guitar to play the rhythms.

@@lostinpa-dadenduro7555 Bin through all phases. Channels, Pedals, Midi .... glad I started with the Volume Pot, so I can use it whenever I need it.
I actually run my strat and p90 tele between 3 to 8.. almost never 10 unless I need super saturated leads
