it's admirable that you're willing to reevaluate your position and change your mind. that may be the best part about the whole video. and i really like my Berg.
Berg has became more and more of my go-to for basically everything inside 50 meters. The fact that it just drops out of the air make me feel like i can just put it where i want to and most of the times have an easy putt. No need to consider wind that will make it glide away from the target or account for skips. Just put it straight in the gap and get it there. Its a shitty disc in the sense that it does not fly well, and that is what makes it so great.
Someone recently accused me of "cheating" with a Berg and said it was because I didn't have any touch. That's about as dumb as accusing someone of not having enough power so they have to resort to a Wraith to throw 400+ ft. If it works for your play style, then it works. It's not cheating or lazy to use a Berg when you need an easy approach shot.
we’re watching joesph learn something he didn’t want to. the humility and willingness to be open is insane. his processing speed is so much higher than the average golfer. absolute wizard 🧙🏼♂️ Petition to officially title joseph the Grand Maester of Disc Golf.
I’ve never thrown a Berg but it was cool that you gave it a second chance and really thought about how it could be used in your game; great to see an open mind
I know this is minuet but putting your bag Infront of the teepad while throwing is psychopath behavior! IDK how you do it. I understand you are prob sponsored by squatch and have to represent them during videos but I could never
I think you're spot on, Joseph. It's designed for stroke-play play (whether that's with friends or in tournaments). It's not a "flashy" disc geared for ace runs or photo-shoots. The disc is boring. It flies boring, the color schemes are boring, the profile is a bit odd but still boring. But boring for an upshot is gold in stroke play.
Glad you had fun with it. Great upshotnplacemet disc. Does great with Georgia woods golf. Always awesome to see someone find joy from something they once viewed negative. Keep being awesome dude
There's a whole series here. "Joseph learns to love a disc". As a berg-liever who putts with these soup bowls I'm thrilled you gave it another chance. Proud of you champ.
Ah, another weirdo like myself. My berg comes out for anything inside 190ft including putting. My berg of choice is K1 soft. It's like a suction cup when it hits. Even if I have a straight at it throw available, I typically throw a little anny on purpose so that it pans it hits flat and that K1 soft has a enough dome flex that it literally bends down and reflexes back when it hits and give it a suction effect. For my game it has saved me countless strokes.
I love watching your love of the game. I also LOVE that your style encourages me to actually have fun again playing disc golf. Thanks for all you do Joseph & team.
“Straight or whatever angle you put it on and it doesn’t go that far” pretty much describes the Berg. Approach disc all the way. PS it’s the best short distance forehead roller disc ever. Pps it’s a forehand disc lots not kid ourselves!
I bought into the berg hype, then I realized that I didnt know how to use it. I took it out of the bag for a year+. Recently, its back in my bag with a vengeance. Its a GREAT approach disc. Especially when your home course is a skiing hill in the winter. You need shit that gets to the ground and stays there.
1. Anhyzer BH/FH approach shots that slowly pan and then land flat without a skip 2. Shots that go 200-230 dead straight then drop like a rock without a skip 3. anhzyer putts. That’s what it does exceptionally well. I was also a hater until I drank the kool aid and it tasted so good.
Crow was on the menu this evening hahaha! All jokes aside, great video! I like the Berg for shots where overshooting the target has a big penalty, and when the wind is howling. It's like throwing a flying barge - not super maneuverable, but definitely dependable.
Joseph... great to hang with you at the Expo (Pete the camera guy with Robbie C.) I appreciate you revisiting the Berg... class act! I think you did a great job showing how you are starting to understand why folks love it. Robbie C. and I have fun going round and round about Pigs vs. Bergs, but I think any disc can be a formidable weapon if the thrower really learns it. Do you suppose many folks hate on the Berg due to it being trendy to do so? it is not a disc for everyone, but it is a great disc for a lot of folks. Keep it up my friend!
I respect this video a lot. I had same journey this year that ended with berg and bergx in my bag. I hated hard, but it is magic in the woods. What really messed me up was the forehand flick up shots. Stupid accurate for me. It is kinda a cheat code.
Well done… this was neither a 180 nor a dig in with the heels, but an honest look at something you clearly couldn’t stand prior to making this video. I’m a Berg fan, and now I’m a bigger AR fan.
Ahhhh🤦🏻♂️. Who cares what the internet thinks? You had it right the first time. Either way, another top-notch video. I always have time for another round. Thank you.
I became a Berg fan on my first throw and personally, I think it's the most irreplaceable disc in my bag. I also realize it may be the most polarizing disc out there which just makes it that much cooler.
Happy that others gave you feedback! I was thinking the same thing Id hate the disc too if I was trying to Ace with it on pure hyzer. My personal fav shot are little baby anhyzers. Love how it never turns over and also never pans back out into a fade. BergX will fade after baby anny but not the normal berg. Still need a harp/zone for that shot, and still need the full array of throwing putters to go along with it but for those shorter distances where you want minimal fade or turn, its the money. Also, while they do "fall out of the sky" they are srprisingly skippy if you hyzer them. I have used them so "Slide" up to the basket when you have a really low ceiling because the bottom of the disc is curved in such a way that it doesnt snag. ALSO flick rollers are an absolute cheat code, since the edge is so flat.
This was a great video. I'm a Berg thrower and lover but usually wait until people ask me what I'm throwing on the course before I go into my feelings lol. It has a great place in tournament play and they dye incrediblely well. And the glow? Dang! 😂 Thank you for this one!
My buddies both hopped on the berg train recently out of spite for me always telling them "that's why you need a glitch" after executing gorgeous floaty upshots. I would love that berg so I can out-berg them and say "I mean it's not the glitch but it works I guess."
Applaud you for being able to step back and give something you didnt have great feelings about a good honest 2nd chance where you genuinely tried to find the merit in what others were saying about it. Most peoples egos would never allow them to do that. Lol Id love a berg btw. I have 4 aces with them and they're my favorite disc. I just dunked my in a river the other day. :')
Nice one. You like to have fun and run the chains. Me too. Nothing does it better than the Berg. Just not from the tee on Par 4s 😂80-150 ft out is the Berg zone. I saw you ‘feelin it’ from that range. And sounds like you were getting that aim point sighted in. Wouldn’t take YOU long to be dangerous w/ it. A killer. A smooooth criminal.
It takes a real man to admit a mistake. Proud of the gumption you showed to revisit AND explain why you liked and didn't like the Berg. Great video man!
I bought a Berg for a specific approach shot on a specific hole because I kept throwing my putters long. I fell in love with it almost immediately. I use it for straight approach shots and long forehand throw-in bids where I don't want to go too long if I miss. If I need to bend a shot, I don't even bother with it. I bag other discs that are more well suited.
Respect man going back on some big statements on a disc and finding out what it’s good for. I don’t bag a berg respect man! Love the videos and the energy and info you put into them
I just went back to the berg recently after about a year. I have a new respect for it. I was definitely not using it how I should have been (and maybe still not), but it was a good indicator that my game has grown a little.
I bagged the berg as a joke, but ended up reaching for it a lot (especially for skins throw-ins). Really appreciate you giving the berg a second chance.
You're point at 2:54 is spot on. One of the big reasons disc golf is so fun and finding new people to play with. You never know what is gonna be in someone elses bag.
I lost my Berg a few days ago. I went into my collection looking for something to replace it before my round yesterday and I settled on a Crystal Flx Zone. I probably had 5 approaches that I used the zone for and the entire time I was wishing it was the Berg. Bottom line, a Berg is a Berg and once you get used to it nothing else compares.
I think the Berg was the first disc I ever bought that wasn't donated to me when I first started. It's been in my bag ever since! It definitely has its utility. I think it works well on windy days as well.
The biggest thing I use the berg for is shorter, straighter, forehand upshots. It’s a putter but is very torque resistant and comfortable on sidearm. Just about every shot inside 250ft, ust a little flick and it holds whatever angle.
I am glad you discovered what the berg does. A disc that is a short boring disc that won't get you in trouble or do unexpected things. It is a true disc where you have to blame the archer and not the arrow in most cases. IMO
The berg isn't for everyone, and that's okay. I love it for the exact reason you said about getting it close to the basket, but not everyone has the same okay style.
If you have time get in on a Berg Challenge ( berg only c-tier) That will help you a ton on finding angles and how the berg but also other discs can surprice you. And keep coming with em videos really like short fast fun rounds. Cheers!
The Berg is a disc that you get exactly what you put into it. Safe option for death putts, and defiantly likes to get to the ground quick and stay. I think it fits into specialty disc slot. Excels at certain shots, but definitely not a one disc round disc.
I'm not even a berg thrower, but thank you for revisiting the disc. The first review kind of left a bad taste in my mouth with the constant negativity about the mold, whether they were jokes or in seriousness. No disc is for everyone, but every disc has its uses. Props to you for giving it another go, got some good vibes in this round. 🤝
I've only felt the Berg once... not sure which plastic it was. I believe it was a glow version. Felt nice, did not get to throw one. I use P1 and P2 to put and throw with. Would definitely like to try one out. Felt great in my hand, but your comment about not really liking it to throw in or run it makes me wonder if I'd like itor not?! Only one way to find out. Please.
Berg is fun. I putt with soft Berg all 2023 season and I was pretty good. K1 Berg is my throwing putter, so for me it's my fav disc. Greetings from Latvia 💪
Bergs are so underrated. They're a great utility disc. I have more throwins with the berg and anything else and only been using them for less than a year
I love the berg, but I wouldn't say they are underrated I think it's closer to "overhated" tons of people love it, but those who don't for some reason have to talk about how much they hate it... no other disc even with horrible hand feel makes people talk about their hate for a disc as much. I guess you could say that hating on the berg is overrated
I love my glow berg. So much i bag it in my glow bag and regular bag. Its just the prefect upshot disc that doesnt roll or skip away it just drops and sits.
There it is! Haha. You threw it how it wants to be thrown. It really excels at forehand upshots where you can give it a legit nose up soft bid, but if it misses you’re parked. I mean, right there it’s so valuable to have in your rounds 👏 Great job for giving it another chance. 😂

Your content is one of the most valuable things to this off season, been a joy watching!
Loved watching this video, getting to see the true nature of the Berg was awesome. Glad you had some fun shots. It's such a great utility disc.
I know this is minuet but putting your bag Infront of the teepad while throwing is psychopath behavior! IDK how you do it. I understand you are prob sponsored by squatch and have to represent them during videos but I could never
I almost always do that... That way I can grab my bag without losing sight of where my disc landed.
I think you're spot on, Joseph. It's designed for stroke-play play (whether that's with friends or in tournaments). It's not a "flashy" disc geared for ace runs or photo-shoots. The disc is boring. Welcome to the club. A friend made me try a Berg over and over until I figured out how it fit into my game.
I bought into the berg hype, then I realized that I didnt know how to use it. I took it out of the bag for a year+. Recently, its back in my bag with a vengeance. Its a GREAT approach disc. the best discs to throw are the one you like.

I loved putting with the berg in heavy wind headwind situations. Eventually I switched but I still keep one in the bag for those scary days
I respect this video a lot. I had same journey this year that ended with berg and bergx in my bag. I hated hard, but it is magic in the woods. What really messed me up was the forehand flick up shots. Stupid accurate for me. It is kinda a cheat code.
I love the berg for upshots or even tee shots on shorter holes that have hazards behind them. Glad to see you giving it a chance Joseph!

The forehand turnover shot is what the berg is best at for me. You seemed to see why in your video. Such a fun shot with the berg
Once you go Berg, you can never go back!
This was a great video. I'm a Berg thrower and lover but usually wait until people ask me what I'm throwing on the course before I go into my feelings lol. It has a great place in tournament play and they dye incrediblely well. And the glow? Dang! 😂 Thank you for this one!
Glad that you are appreciating the Swedish Berg. Hopefully you'll consider baging one now.
My buddies both hopped on the berg train recently out of spite for me always telling them "that's why you need a glitch" after executing gorgeous floaty upshots. I would love that berg so I can out-berg them and say "I mean it's not the glitch but it works I guess."

Well, You are not a member of the Cult.. but you kept the welcome pamphlet 🤘💀 - Grim Chucker

I bagged the berg as a joke, but ended up reaching for it a lot (especially for skins throw-ins). Really appreciate you giving the berg a second chance.
apology accepted
I'm glad you gave it an honest chance.
Always wanted to try the Berg, but now more than ever after you highlighted some of it's strengths. I'd love to be considered for the giveaway!
You have convinced me to try the Berg yet again..thanks for the video!
People that hat the Berg only hate it because they don't know they love it yet
You're point at 2:54 is spot on. One of the big reasons disc golf is so fun and finding new people to play with. You never know what is gonna be in someone elses bag.

I probably had 5 approaches that I used the zone for and the entire time I was wishing it was the Berg. Bottom line, a Berg is a Berg and once you get used to it nothing else compares.
I must say, the berg feels much more comfortable in a forehand grip than most other putter molds
I think the Berg was the first disc I ever bought that wasn't donated to me when I first started. It's been in my bag ever since! It definitely has its utility. I think it works well on windy days as well.
One step closer to joining team Berg. Nice video.
The biggest thing I use the berg for is shorter, straighter, forehand upshots. It’s a putter but is very torque resistant and comfortable on sidearm. Just about every shot inside 250ft, ust a little flick and it holds whatever angle.
Great content, Ledgestone Luna guy here! But I’m so ready for them Kratos to come in 😎🤘🏼
Bears. Bergs. Battlestar Galactica.
anddddd now im looking at bergs online. GREAT.
I know a place that has them in stock 😏
Joseph won't admit it but he loves the Berg now
The most consistent mold in disc golf, in my opinion.
Makes so much sense that it’s a stroke players favorite disc but not a player whose focus is fun
🤔 idk. Berg is the most fun part of my rounds.
This was very Bergadocious of you, Joseph
I am glad you discovered what the berg does. A disc that is a short boring disc that won't get you in trouble or do unexpected things. It is a true disc where you have to blame the archer and not the arrow in most cases. IMO
You made this to respond to being roasted by the berg nerd. Be honest
Re-followed. Thankful you came to your senses. With your touch and some practice there’s no doubt you’d dial it in and have a new favorite disc!! 😂
The berg isn't for everyone, and that's okay. I love it for the exact reason you said about getting it close to the basket, but not everyone has the same okay style.
Shoutout to Joseph for giving the Berg another chance! It’s an odd one for sure.
Kudos to taking the advice on how people who love it choose to throw it. You looked like you had a pretty good time!
If you have time get in on a Berg Challenge ( berg only c-tier) That will help you a ton on finding angles and how the berg but also other discs can surprice you. And keep coming with em videos really like short fast fun rounds. Cheers!
My dad pointed me in your direction. Love the honesty.
Something. Enjoying the consistent content.
Welcome to the berg gang
I've only felt the Berg once... not sure which plastic it was. I believe it was a glow version. Felt nice, did not get to throw one. I use P1 and P2 to put and throw with. Would definitely like to try one out. Felt great in my hand, but your comment about not really liking it to throw in or run it makes me wonder if I'd like itor not?! Only one way to find out. Please.
Berg is fun. I putt with soft Berg all 2023 season and I was pretty good. K1 Berg is my throwing putter, so for me it's my fav disc. Greetings from Latvia 💪
the Berg is my exclusive forehand approach disc, i dislike the feel of it in the backhand throw, but feels amazing forehand.
“Overhated” is accurate. Good one!
Great stuff Joseph!
I mean, right there it’s so valuable to have in your rounds 👏
Great job for giving it another chance. 😂
You called it point, aim, shoot, fall like a brick! 😂
Respect!
K1 soft is favorite! Glow AND X yet to try/highlight (in this format) :)
Thanks for taking this risk!
Love your stuff Joseph!
Please don't send me a Berg, I'll send it back.
The Berg has its uses, but it's only for utility in my bag. For specific shots it's worth having around.
I feel like the Berg can do almost anything I need within 100 to 125. Complete go to for me and literally thousands of par saves, tap birdies, and some great throw ins. Once you figure it out its full heat code imo
Good content joe! Berg has its place in every bag!
That was awesome to watch!
Berg is a good disc when doing what it's intended for. I do feel like it can mask some issues for some people with their upshots but can also be a good training tool.
Sounds like I might need a Berg in my life 😂
What in the effies! My sub were not active anymore! Thx for the "Pause sub" ;S Conclusion; It's a Berg, if it feels good it helps the score just by removing 2 drivers in width. They didn't help your score anyway xD
It will probably never leave the bag. K1 soft is the best version, and it's made for forehand upshots
Great vid. Love the berg, it reminds me of throwing a water logged 16" inch softball. But that's what I love about it. It goes exactly where you throw it, just not far.
Joesph,
I myself, love the berg. I mainly throw it on forehands because it finishes straight on any forehand shot. Next time you work on the berg, if you see a Backhand Hyzer line, throw a lofty Anny Forehand. It is one of my favorite/most-reliable shots in disc golf.
Happy my friends and I to meet you and zeke at at scrapyard! Almost asked you to sign my berg instead of my rollo!
Legit review man,
i am an innova only guy and still throw this beat up gummy berg.
Got it signed by calvin heimburg and really need a reason to hang it up.
Keep up the vids man 💪💪
I do a monthly match against a buddy and he throws the berg all over the course. He made it look so awesome I bought one. Gave it away within a month or two. Felt like throwing a frozen pork chop.
