    it's admirable that you're willing to reevaluate your position and change your mind. that may be the best part about the whole video. and i really like my Berg.

  • @joakimtano
    @joakimtano 8 месяцев назад +2

    Berg has became more and more of my go-to for basically everything inside 50 meters. The fact that it just drops out of the air make me feel like i can just put it where i want to and most of the times have an easy putt. No need to consider wind that will make it glide away from the target or account for skips. Just put it straight in the gap and get it there.
    Its a shitty disc in the sense that it does not fly well, and that is what makes it so great.

  • @mikem4521
    @mikem4521 8 месяцев назад +1

    Takes a brave man to give a disc another chance and admit there might be more to it. Great to see this round and would love a berg to test for myself.

    Someone recently accused me of "cheating" with a Berg and said it was because I didn't have any touch.
    That's about as dumb as accusing someone of not having enough power so they have to resort to a Wraith to throw 400+ ft.
    If it works for your play style, then it works. It's not cheating or lazy to use a Berg when you need an easy approach shot.

    I think you're spot on, Joseph. It's designed for stroke-play play (whether that's with friends or in tournaments). It's not a "flashy" disc geared for ace runs or photo-shoots. The disc is boring. It flies boring, the color schemes are boring, the profile is a bit odd but still boring. But boring for an upshot is gold in stroke play.

      Ah, another weirdo like myself. My berg comes out for anything inside 190ft including putting. My berg of choice is K1 soft. It's like a suction cup when it hits. Even if I have a straight at it throw available, I typically throw a little anny on purpose so that it pans it hits flat and that K1 soft has a enough dome flex that it literally bends down and reflexes back when it hits and give it a suction effect. For my game it has saved me countless strokes.

    “Straight or whatever angle you put it on and it doesn’t go that far” pretty much describes the Berg. Approach disc all the way.
    PS it’s the best short distance forehead roller disc ever.
    Pps it’s a forehand disc lots not kid ourselves!

    I bought into the berg hype, then I realized that I didnt know how to use it. I took it out of the bag for a year+. Recently, its back in my bag with a vengeance. Its a GREAT approach disc. Especially when your home course is a skiing hill in the winter. You need shit that gets to the ground and stays there.

    1. Anhyzer BH/FH approach shots that slowly pan and then land flat without a skip 2. Shots that go 200-230 dead straight then drop like a rock without a skip 3. anhzyer putts. That’s what it does exceptionally well. I was also a hater until I drank the kool aid and it tasted so good.

    Crow was on the menu this evening hahaha! All jokes aside, great video! I like the Berg for shots where overshooting the target has a big penalty, and when the wind is howling. It's like throwing a flying barge - not super maneuverable, but definitely dependable.

    Joseph... great to hang with you at the Expo (Pete the camera guy with Robbie C.) I appreciate you revisiting the Berg... class act! I think you did a great job showing how you are starting to understand why folks love it. Robbie C. and I have fun going round and round about Pigs vs. Bergs, but I think any disc can be a formidable weapon if the thrower really learns it. Do you suppose many folks hate on the Berg due to it being trendy to do so? it is not a disc for everyone, but it is a great disc for a lot of folks. Keep it up my friend!

    I respect this video a lot. I had same journey this year that ended with berg and bergx in my bag. I hated hard, but it is magic in the woods. What really messed me up was the forehand flick up shots. Stupid accurate for me. It is kinda a cheat code.

  • @JacobMustin

    Happy that others gave you feedback! I was thinking the same thing Id hate the disc too if I was trying to Ace with it on pure hyzer. My personal fav shot are little baby anhyzers. Love how it never turns over and also never pans back out into a fade. BergX will fade after baby anny but not the normal berg. Still need a harp/zone for that shot, and still need the full array of throwing putters to go along with it but for those shorter distances where you want minimal fade or turn, its the money. Also, while they do "fall out of the sky" they are srprisingly skippy if you hyzer them. I have used them so "Slide" up to the basket when you have a really low ceiling because the bottom of the disc is curved in such a way that it doesnt snag. ALSO flick rollers are an absolute cheat code, since the edge is so flat.

    I bought a Berg for a specific approach shot on a specific hole because I kept throwing my putters long. I fell in love with it almost immediately. I use it for straight approach shots and long forehand throw-in bids where I don't want to go too long if I miss. If I need to bend a shot, I don't even bother with it. I bag other discs that are more well suited.

    I lost my Berg a few days ago. I went into my collection looking for something to replace it before my round yesterday and I settled on a Crystal Flx Zone. The biggest thing I use the berg for is shorter, straighter, forehand upshots. It’s a putter but is very torque resistant and comfortable on sidearm. Just about every shot inside 250ft, ust a little flick and it holds whatever angle.

    The Berg is a disc that you get exactly what you put into it. Safe option for death putts, and defiantly likes to get to the ground quick and stay. I think it fits into specialty disc slot. Excels at certain shots, but definitely not a one disc round disc.
