Appreciate your review, thanks. Did you need to isolate the motor tabs with kapton tape? Also, I’m new to installing esu on my own but willing to take the chance. To add the sound file do you need an esu programmer? Is Decoder pro an option?
You've got to have the LokProgrammer to put a sound file on an ESU decoder. However, you should be able to find a retailer who will load the file for you, before shipping it.
Why did not use all auxiliar light to make a nice locomotive. ESU have 5 Aux port, you can cut light guide, put smd led and like this will have alternating ditch light, red light fwd and reverse. You waste a good decoder, multifunctional for 3 lights.
Can I buy a few of those enclosures for the speaker? I’m currently doing the same conversion, just bought the Alc-42 and superliner set at the Rocky Mountain train show,
This is a great video and can’t wait until these come out. Do you have any knowledge of the N scale Bachmann ALC that is going head to head with the KATO model?
Yeah it would be pointless because bachmanns comes factory with dcc and sound and lighting features. As he said he does professional dcc installs for Kato locomotives which is probably how he got a preproduction sample.
@@Peppurr1 really? I've only seen 1 video of a charger running. It was a quick clip at the national train show. Kato seems to be much quicker with theirs than bachmann.
How did you remove the shell? I can't figure mine out :/ there's virtually no gap between the shell and the frame on the bottom I can find to leverage.
Can you show how you ended up routing the speaker wire on the bottom to get to the sound chamber?

@@joeldcoxks thanks, realized I should invest in a loksound programmer since I have so many currently
Sweet video thanks

I actually offer that as a service (ditch light left, right and marker lights) Thanks for letting me know I don't know what I'm doing.

no clue. I don't follow Bachmann stuff.
Received mine last Saturday. Sadly it didn't run very long. Looks like the rear driveshaft or around that part failed. Sounds and looks fantastic.
Will you get an early bird sample for the bachmann chargers?
sorry, I don't deal with Bachmann for the most part.

@@Peppurr1 I was mostly curious if he knew anything. Trainworld says they won't come out till late march
@@MegaChallanger yeah they have done a few postings as well as people who went to train fest got to see them and posted pics and videos.

It’s so hard lol. I purchased too and was struggling lmaoo
@@KatoOnTheTrack1 I finally got it after 30 minutes of fiddling, I was so worried I was going to break the shell lol
Once Kato starts shipping them are you going to do a run of DCC sound installs for Lombard Hobbies?
that is the plan. They have a couple hundred reserved for this and I have the decoders and other parts onhand...
