  • Enjoy this easy beginner winter landscape painting. Great for holiday or Christmas cards. A sweet little cabin nestled in the forest, with a blanket of snow covering the ground. Tall pines frame the scene with a gentle falling snow on a dark and colorful sky. Frame it as a beautiful handmade gift or add it to your own winter home decor. Happy Painting!

You are a fantastic teacher and I love your paintings. I am thinking that the raw umber is the lighter brown and the Van Dyke brown is the darker one. At least that's how mine are. lol

How would you show smoke coming from the chimney on this cold night? Is there a footpath to the house?

Very good idea... can't wait to try it. Please tell me, what kind of tape do you use? I've tried masking, duct, and washi, but I get bad results. I want tape that will occlude the paint, but also be easy and harmless to remove. Thank you! 🌄👏👏👏

Sometimes it really depends on your paper. I use 100%cotton paper which holds up really well. I use masking tape and painters tape. Painter’s tape is a little less tacky than traditional masking tape and there is also a “low tack painter’s tape” which is a little bit better than washi tape. I find washi tape to be too gentle and I would often get leaks around the edges. Here’s an examples of painters tape. www.dickblick.com/products/blick-painters-tape/?clickTracking=true&wmcp=pla&wmcid=items&wmckw=24146-3460&gclid=Cj0KCQiA8t2eBhDeARIsAAVEga2TnMUxB1bIu9ecsPE4CDtn-xyINe0wOks4lzlG43URB4yRZJk3FVcaAm3PEALw_wcB
