They judge cleanliness. Anything he does it almost perfect and cannot be done any cleaner. His style makes it look easy when almost any other skater in the contest cannot make it look as smooth as him.

I think its because there is almost no crowd, and whatever crowd noise there is is being overpowered by the PA system
Acute Cloudd The crowd was small and those competing just seemed not that into it, of course, still trying to win, but now all that amped about the contest. That’s just me though.
I agree, felt like a 'pop up' Street League. No crowd, harsh lighting. Still great skating.

It's his fault for not being sponsored by huge companies, that's the easiest way to get in the 9-club constantly.
@@TheMilkYourDadWentToBuy His first run deserved more than a 7.2. maybe like an 8.5? Everyone that went after him got a higher score and most had a bail or two in their run. Maybe he would have done better for the rest of the comp if the judges weren't wack. Even the commentators have no idea what the judges were doing.
Dashawn Jordan earned a new fan in me. Dude is an incredible, vicious skater and also has a heart of gold. Love how genuinely happy he was for Yuto, being the first guy, twice, out of all the skaters to go congratulate him. Awesome final. Sucks that Nyjah and Shane ended up falling short.

Yeah the scores were super weird for the last couple of tournaments, like I saw a bigspin kickflip to boardslide get a 6, the judges are bullshit.

1:18:47 - Suciu does a regular stance grapefruit, scored 8.5
1:22:35 - Yuto does a switch grapefruit, scored 9.2
I can see how those scores would make sense from a judge's perspective, but in my humble opinion, regular stance grapefruit is the harder trick because you have to lock in, grind, and roll away switch; which is the meat and bones of the trick. So a switch grapefruit only requires the 180 to be switch, and from there it's just a normal back feeble. Idk, maybe I'm wrong.

I think we were all surprised, when you watch replay of the trick, maybe for judges the "fault" on his back foot during slide removes few points, like - 0.3? Half of his foot was on bar not the board, a'd it is a final. I just try to understand why it should not be a 9 club for judges.

Yuto with a nine club for the same tricks he always does. Meanwhile Dashawn does a back board up a chest high rail and gets a 9. There needs to be new judges who aren’t partial to Nyjah and yuto
Partial to Yuto, yes, but to Nyjah, no. Nyjah is often given low scores just because he is so consistent with everything he learns. Yuto annoys the shit out of me though. Back in the day the judges started to give lower scores to Nyjah, who then had to bring new and bigger tricks to win, whereas Yuto is still given big points for the same three-four tricks...
Kevins second run was fucken insane, sick tricks, lots of action, that nose to tail slide was fucken crazy yet he only gets a 8.9 i thought that was a 9.2 utleast

@John Hoe nah pal, not just nyjah, if you pay attention, in their universe *everyone* was regular. this may explain some scores for goofy skaters: they must've thought they didn't do their shit switch lol, and vice versa.
Chris Cole is superb as co-commentator. Excellent stuff. The dude knows what's going on and is not just acting the goat.
Horigome and O'Neill are probably the 2 top skaters that make skateboarding look absolutely effortless...
At least Shane can show some appreciation and emotion about it haha Yuto looks like he was spanked into becoming such a brilliant skater and looks like he just wishes he could go home. Now he just gets the Neijah treatment.. Sean can always win, but loses because he actually takes some risks doing some wild uncommon tricks

I've all ways said it... the runs needs to be scored higher. Maybe have the limit at 15 or even 20 for a run? and 10 for a best trick. I think its obvious why this would make the competition much better.

Scores at the end were confusing 33.4 and a 9.5 to beat a 35.2 . Can someone explain this wtf
Only top 4 scores count. The total best 4 added up to 35.2, so they needed to get a 9.5 to knock out the lowest top 4 score they had. Not rocket science
He just needed to up his lowest score by 1.8 to take the lead. So he needed a 9.5 to do that

Jhonny K. Exactly my thoughts. The judges must not be skaters themselves. Probably cuz they Didn't see a flip into it or 180 of some sort they assumed it wasn't 9 worthy. That's an insane trick to even think about on a handrail.

Luis Mora does skate vlogs in Japan and shouted Yuto out a good minute ago and if you saw him in the park in his home town EVERYTHING was bolts. The dude is a prodigy, and Nyjah in his own right has been skating since he was like a toddler but still doesn't have shit dialed in the same way Yuto does.
