I was a sophomore in high school when street league started and I can't believe how much it has progressed since then... it's awesome to see how skateboarding is treated as a legitimate sport and that it's now in the olympics.
So crazy how much the skill level has progressed in a little over ten years. I just went from watching the most recent contest in Jacksonville to this, and it really puts into perspective just how much more consistent all sls pros have gotten in a decade. They went from rag tag pros that probably never worked out or trained other than skating, to full on professional athletes. It's also a trip to a have a park that just ends hahah! No quarter pipes or ramps to keep the flow going...just stops.
@@ChuchoPR i get it but, all he needed was to land on his board. Any trick will do. The point difference was so small... and the biggest prize money in history of skateboarding for a single event. Idk seemed like an opportunity he should have taken advantage
ARDJ yea for sure. I think its an unwritten rule to go hard even in situations like that. Nyjah is probably the only one that wouldn’t have done the same lol
@@ChuchoPR Nyjah wouldnt even think on risking that, he is a beast but his style is so flat, no creativity whatsoever, he is all about that money prize, im impressed by his consistency not by what he does, it all seems the same imo.

Highlights are just not enough I might add! Such a buzz kill when you try to see the progression of the SlS throughout its years! Malto’s steadfast safe approach from 2010 must’ve altered drastically to win 2011 Super Crown! I skipped 2013 since it’s also incomplete.

Eric Koston should have stayed to his fundamentals and then advance to more difficult tricks once he has his fundamentals down. Not too sure if he was taking street league serious.

Around 30:00 someone keeps whistling really loud right when a skater pops into their trick. Seems like it's on purpose to make certain skaters mess up which is messed up and actually dangerous.

When I was a teen in the 80's, skateboarders were seen as miscreants & misfits. Had 1-2 school security guard chase us off the school grounds.
