Yeah considering the use of WoD Gul'Dan, trying to find a way to use Karabor and the past version of Shadowmoon Valley would've been nice, since they're canonically how they look now, even if that version was a different timeline.

The only reason this trailer was possible is because Legion was so demon centered and Illidan returned, which is why he and most characters related to him got upgraded models. Take a good look at Kael'thas in this trailer and you'll see it's still the same low poly TBC model. I believe for the close up at 2:38 he used a clever trick by using an updated blood elf player model, but that only worked there because you can't see his gear.
Watching these remastered cinematics really makes you awe how good this game was back in the day. All the hard raids, dungeons, the guilds, the friends you made. Such an incredible experience.

You do realize the "plot" of TBC was all over the place, yeah? There was next to no consistent story. They re-wrote TBC because it didn't make much sense. I believe even Blizzard admitted that TBC was a mistake in the lore.
GGTeMpLaR incorrect. In Warcraft 3, Illidan’s arc was that he wanted to show his brother that the demons had no control over him...so he became a demon and was cast out for it. Not sure which part of that screams “he is the chosen one, destined to destroy the Legion and bitchslap the holy light with his dick #hailvoidlords” BC may not be my favorite expansion, but making illidan the villain was the second logical conclusion from The Frozen Throne (the most obvious being that he was dead, either from being pwned by a human or being slain by his master for his failure - fuck Legion, there was no “grand overarching plan”, he wanted power, Kil’jaeden offered him power, and he didn’t care if he broke the world and created the Forsaken in the process, he wanted power).

I still hate the way Blizzard did Kael'thas' model. His arms were NOT MEANT TO CLIP OUTSIDE THE CLOAK LIKE THAT. They NEVER were, but Blizzard didn't know how to do a full body cloak like that with WoW graphics and models at the time!
They still don't know. I find it funny how they waste time on cloak designs when every sane person just hides their cloak anyway due to it clipping through arms, weapons, legs, mounts - basically everything.

Wow, I love it. I’m doing my own TBC story run of all quests and dungeons and I’m ready to enter a Black Temple soon. It’s fun to use this a story cutscene for that.
This is the kind of thing that keeps me going in WoW, through my years, this expansion has been the worst yet and everyday I think about quitting. However seeing these old cinematic's and just remembering the game in it's glory days of being a real active MMO, and how exciting and unique the raids were, gives me hope and makes me play another day. Absolutely stunning video sir
This remaster is awesome, and replacing the old Gul'dan model by the new one was clever, but then, you should have done the same with the Staff of Sargeras, that Ner'zhul used to open the rift that ultimately created the Outland. It's not something too big, but it would have been a nice little detail. ^^

You did your best i can't deny that. But imho this cinematic is just too old to look nice even in a remastered version. Watching it just felt off for me in multiple places (some of the models don't age well and their emotes are just off putting - especially the broken models). Again i'm not denying your hard work in comparison to the original the improvements are there - it's just that they can't save this cinematic One change i would suggest tho is that you could've used the Temple of Karabor on Draenor as the "before" for the Black Temple (i know its different than what is in the cinematic but it *is* a remastered version so you're completely free to change things from it to make it better)
I have a feeling this was to stay as faithful as you could to the original cinematic, but I was kinda disappointed that you didn't use Warlords of Draenor's Temple of Karabor before its takeover and corruption. A missed opportunity, I think. Still, an excellent video! Gotta love using newer models and techniques to bring life to old videos. Especially loved how you used Illidan's old WarCraft III voice. I missed having Matthew King for Illidan. :l
@@Shiirow It was used quite actively with the opening of AQ (raid) gates. I was there when I saw the reputation content. It actually was some serious "endgame" stuff to farm/kill in a fairly big zone. Fun bosses to summon from gear you collected.

I wasnt expecting to hear illidan’s former voice with that model, it felt strange but also good.
