Authority Seth was when I realized how good he was but it was when he tore his Acl and came back that was the best version of Rollins I have seen and he still is
That was the problem with Roman. Seth and Dean broke away and had new characters while Roman still had Shield Gear and Music. There was no development for people to care for him outside of the shield identity. It was so obvious that was he running off the coat tails of the shield was the hand picked guy and forced on people instead of being based on merit and how actually good he was at the time.
People loved the Shield so they had Roman keep the attire and theme however the fans saw right through that And Deans character never really changed, his look just did. But that's the thing, he had a character while in the group. Seth got one after the split while Reigns didn't
@@PressPauseProductions they didn't like shield as much to a point where 1 guy still uses it and main events with it, the fact that roman with lack of knowledge and experience for wwe even knew having the same gimmick was a bad idea, says a lot
Makes sense. I always thought that like the indies is where you put your in-ring abilites to the test and show off essentially, you don't have to have a "gimmick" so to speak. I also thought that maybe a lot of ppl wrote Seth off after his lost to Randy in Wrestlemania with that crazy RKO counter only for him to come back and pull off one of the most incredible cash-ins I have ever seen. Like he said, I think the Autority storyline made him realize where he can go from there. Seth was always my favorite SHIELD member, I liked him the most and it is pretty crazy to see where ended up. Wrestling is fun again for me after the crazy inconsistency with Vince. Triple H is doing the Lords work right now
Been honest, i was 14 years old and I was so obsessed with WWE, watched all the Attitude era, the Ruthless Aggression era, and i watch “The Authority” era, and age 19 i was like; what’s wrong?? Why it’s not fun anymore? Why i’m not feeling any excitement?, i think that The Authority era was the point start of the downfall of the WWE, just said a personal opinion it’s the fact but still the emotions are still there
it was, Seth's title reign after mania 31 was the start of the downfall in the ratings.. All those 20 minutes promos he used to do at the start of the show and those weekly six man tag match with him corporate Kane and J&J security. It was a mistake to put the title on him, only cause Reigns was getting booed into oblivion in the arenas. However, the numbers didn't reflect the booes because Wrestlemania 31 was the biggest and most profitable Mania at the time, Vince should have just doubled down, instead of having Reigns in random tag matches with Ambrose and the Wyatt family.
I’m a bit older than you and can confirm you didn’t “grow up”. Wrestling was a spectacle back then…it died when Vince toned it down after his wife lost a public election. I also think he sensed that the brand needed to bounce back to the 80’s for a bit and bring kids back in the fold. I’ve got five kids and the attitude era stuff was a bit much in spots. Like I might let the kids watch but not alone…attitude created a sort of Disney problem for them where they were no longer trusted with kids alone. Vince saw the attitude fans and knew they literally grew up with wrestling they could watch… He’s probably grown a new crop after 20 years and could bounce back to attitude for a bit.
Ambrose was really the only one with a character during The Shield, that's why he did majority of the talking then and was pushed as the singles act initially. Reigns and Seth grew from him and they used the group format to protect Reigns from taking pins
Seth, KO, Sami, Gargano, Tamaso are probably few of the if not the best of the best that graced this industry during the last decade. I say this purely from character work, storytelling abilities, crowd work. And there's no doubt how good they are in the ring.
He could have been a great opportunistic heel. I saw bits of it when he betrayed the shield, and then when he cashed in. Not like edge, but maybe slimier.
Why so serious Seth? 😐 Man, I love me some SFR so I wonder Are you having any FUN Seth Rollins? I've never really seen him interviewed outside of Kayfabe or whatever we call that now.
U still believe that after seth literally carried that fraud's ass during the match Punk is a fuckin loser if things get hard he doesn't fight, he takes his balls home Seth knows how to put up with crap the company gives and fight his way to the top Bro is leagues above punk Don't even put those two in the same sentence
Well of course. He wants to thrive in WWE and keep a top spot on the card. Look at how they treated CM Punk? Punk got kicked out of WWE in the most disrespectful way. It doesn't matter how good you are in the ring, how good you are on the mic, or how much the fans love you. If the higher ups don't like you or lose interest in you then you get kicked out or you slowly get turned into a glorified jobber and end up hating your placr in WWE so much that you leave for the indies.
Survivor Series 2014 is one of my favorite matches of all time. That was the peak of "The Authority" storyline and Seth was THE dude for that. It's only because of his work that Ziggler could shine like he did. Cena, Sting's debut. All off his back.

Seth may have been the MVP of the 2010s.
No Daniel Bryan was better 2010 to 2014.
@@REALSTARMIND6 years >4years and we can argue seth was better as a wrestler during 2014
Impopular opinion but for me Seth Rollins is the New Era Icon and Mr. PPV or PLE as it is called nowadays
Highly disagree. CM Punk, Edge, Brock Lesnar and even Daniel Bryan were far more marquee names than Seth
Nope John Cena still was carrying that decade even as a part timer
Reigns was given the Hogan role. Seth is the Randy Savage.
Randy savage wasnt annoying
And Moxley is off playing tough guy to 400 thousand sickos 😂
Agreed
Hogan and Savage at home

I remember when HHH said "There was a plan B", and it was Seth who betray the Shield and joins The Authority

Shawn turning on Marty was bigger than Seth breaking up The Shield.
Basically Roman 2022 was Seth from 2015
He comes across so sour and joyless this whole interview
Hes Vinces boy...thats what he realized.
Actually, he was the HHH guy. Roman was the Vince guy all along.
It’s the opposite 😂
Sums up everything wrong with wrestling today. Kids are all about the flashy moves and showing they can "work". But yeah what about the character?
He could have been a great opportunistic heel. I saw bits of it when he betrayed the shield, and then when he cashed in. Not like edge, but maybe slimier.

Always thought the whole shield thing was over rated solely because you could so tell they had no real plan.

Who? A corporate sell out? It shows.
In what way is he a sellout?
I mean, do you want him to go to the indies or something? 😂
I don't blame him, if i'll be given the same opportunity, I'll sell you out.
