We were checking in the Contemporary and the clerk says "Oh, they have you two guys in a king room, I hate it when that happens...would that be two queens then? "
"Yes, but we'd still like the king bed" He turned red and apologized and we got an upgraded MK view room.

We have very, very rarely had a bad experience at Disney World. 99% of the time we've had fantastic interactions with cast members. One bad experience does stand out however. Our bad experience was a few years back with a very rude waitress at Chefs de France in Epcot. We were on a Candlelight Processional dining package and she was extremely slow. This was a very special show for us as Roy Disney Jr himself was the quest narrator and time was starting to get tighter and tighter. As we kind of pushed her to speed up a bit we saw less of her and when we did she was very rude. We didn't get drink refills, she didn't engage us or ask us if we needed anything. We finally had to get the manager involved to help us get our food, check and out the door. By the time we arrived at the theater they were already letting in the stand by guests so we had horrible seats. I was actually behind a tree. My family was very upset about it. We normally don't complain. I know people can have a bad day and I didn't want to get anyone in trouble. I have bad days too but this one really stung. After the show we went to guest relations and let them know what happened. As Disney always does, they made it right. The great Disney folks gave us free meal vouchers and passes the see the Processional again. It worked out fine and the family and I had a great time. That's that's why we love Disney so much and keep going back year after year.

A cast member at the Alice in Wonderland ride in Disneyland screamed at everyone " You are waiting in line for nothing, you are wasting your life" This was the day after D23 about 2 weeks ago.

emily Brady omg I had a bad experience a month ago at Alice in Wonderland, she yelled at me and my daughter for no reason just because we were not sure where the line began as its confusing when they reopen after the fireworks... I wonder if it was the same CM

A castmember made me cry once. Earlier in the day I bought one of those Ratatouille sticker maps for food and wine and accidentally set it on a table in another shop a little later on and forgot it. I returned five minutes later to ask a CM if anyone had happened to see it and turn it in, and if not I was just going to buy another because they're only $9. I assumed I'd get a "no, I didn't see it, I'm sorry", but instead the man reprimanded me with "nope. You're in Disney, people steal things, don't leave your stuff laying around!" I was appalled. I'd experienced a lot of average castmembers, but never any straight up rude ones! My eyes watered up because I was so caught off guard and felt really humiliated by him. Ironically, the CM's name was Dick. Also, my faith was restored when I decided to go back in and ask another CM if they had seen the map and they said they didn't see it, but gave me a new one no questions asked! I'm glad there's more good ones out there than bad :)

Our worst experience was at Port Orleans, when our son was about 7 months old. There was a Brazilian tour group staying at the resort who would run down the halls at night, bang on our door at 3 am (waking up the baby, I might add) and prank calling our room. This happened 3 nights in a row! Disney was nice enough to give us $100 dollars off our room for the trouble but it made us never want to stay at that particular resort again.

The #3 story sounds HORRIBLE. As in, #terrifying. Also, unrelated, I'd just like to say that the logo in the bottom left corner of the screen looks great! As a digital scrapbooker not only do I think the logo is well designed, it "pops" as an overlay on top of the video. Great job.

I was sexually harassed by a older male cast member at the Polynesian late one night. He kept bragging about how much money he had and kept commenting how my shirt makes me "fill out well." Mind you, I was barely 19 at the time. He also went out on a racist rant when I told him where I was from. My mother and I reported him that night

We had some nice remarks from 2 cast members when we were on our Honeymoon last June. They noticed we had the Happily Ever After badges and made a point to come over and congradulate us on our wedding. The only bad reactions we got were from other members of the public who looked disgusted that we were wearing these badges (being 2 woman obviously) and made us feel like we wanted to take them off to stop getting dirty looks from, mostly other women. We carried on and had a great time however.

  • @AlexandriaPurgatori

My best and my worst experience with cast members happened on the same day.
A drunk, belligerent man bumped into me in MK and proceeded to belittle me and call me every name in the book. Mind you, he was the one who bumped into me. He took it so far as to call me the c word in front of a bunch of children. A cast member called Security on him and when security showed up he threatened to throw ME out of the park while saying nothing to the man. His words to me were, "kids like you are never as innocent as you make it seem."
I was no kid, I was 22 at the time.
I went to guest relations in the park to tell them what had happened. They were so kind and apologetic to me and my entire family. They gave us fast passes for our top 4 rides, gave my little sister a pair of Minnie ears, and they gave us "exclusive seating" for the parade and fireworks.
From one extreme to another in an hour long period.

  • @Fallenmoon18
    @Fallenmoon18 7 лет назад +5

#1 I had a similar bad experience with a cast member bus driver. The bus was way over crowded and people were all on top of each other. I was standing due to no seating available and there was an extremely drunk guy that kept falling on me. There was also a small child kept kicking me from a seat and mom wouldn't do anything. I was so irritated and it was so uncomfortable. I really thought the bus driver took way to many stops to pick people up and didn't have a set capacity number. Also this bus driver decided to take his time and stop on the side of the road to take a leak out in a field. Then there was a car crash that made us sit for well over an hour just to go from the Magic Kingdom to a Disney resort hotel. It was literally the bus from hell.

This trip went from what could have been our worst family vacation to one of the most memorable!!
On our last trip in March our daughters stroller had gotten damaged to
the point of not being able to use it on our trip from the airport to
Pop on the Magical Express. The bus driver suggested i go see the
luggage people since they deal with strollers and might know how to fix
it. The manager wasn't able to fix it, but wanted to give us a credit so
we could buy a new one at the Walmart. Told him we didn't have a car,
but thanks anyways. he told us not to worry, he's got it covered.
11pm that same night we get a knock on our door...its him with a new
stroller, still in the box. He had sent one of his helpers to Walmart to
get the stroller for us. I couldn't thank him enough. Also, my daughter
woke up during the night complaining she couldn't swallow. I called the
front desk, they told me to call 911, which i did. The paramedics were
there within 10 min along with the night time manager. They took my
daughter and wife to Celebrations Hospital where she was treated
amazingly. The next day, we took it easy since my daughter still wasn't
100%, we got a call from the front desk manager to come see him. When we
got there, he asked my daughter how she was feeling, and then gave us
four days worth of extra fastpasses to use at the next couple of parks
we were going to. This could have been our worst trip ever, but thanks
to Disney, it was one of our most memorable!!! We had also just become
Annual Passholders and when we received our bands, they didn't have the
special passholder slip things in the box...front desk suggested we goto
Customer Service at MK. I jokingly told the CM at the counter that I
didn't want to wait in a line with no ride at the end...she laughed and
then felt bad so she gave us 3 more days worth of fastpasses each to
make up for not having the passholder things. This could have been our
worst trip ever, but thanks to Ariel, the day manager and the CM's at
Pop Century, it was one of our most memorable!!!

I had the same thing happen to me! My magic express driver stopped to buy a six-pack before dropping me off at the resort. About a half hour later, he'd drunk all the beer and showed up at my room and started banging on my door. I called the front desk to report it and they asked me what room I'm in. I couldn't remember, so opened the door so I could see what room I'm in. when I did, the door-banging driver swung a bag of garbage at me and covered me in margaritas.

My mother is a coach driver that is sometimes contracted to WDW. The buses all have gps and computerized logs. The system would have recorded every stop the driver makes and when the engine is on and off. If the incident was reported this data would confirm the guests story. The driver would have been fired on the spot as this incident violated company and Disney policy and possibly CDL codes. CDL violation for alcohol can be an immediate loss of licence depending on the state but definitely a suspension.

As a transplant to Florida, I've learned that there's alligators and snakes everywhere. -- You like the black snakes - they are harmless and eat rodents and bugs, but there are some highly poisonous snakes here too. And alligators?? Well, if there's a drop of water, there's an alligator in it!! So please! do not get too close to the lakes - even the ones at Disney! And NEVER let little children close to the water! -- We want all of your memories to be happy ones!!!!

The first time we took our kids to Disney World, and my husband and I's first time staying at the resorts, we had trouble getting into Magic Kingdom the first day we went to the parks. The day after we checked into the Art of Animation we went to Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning to be there for rope drop, and for some reason our magic bands (this was when the magic bands were just coming out and not fully released) didn't register our park tickets, so we went to the guest relations and spoke with an incredibly rude women who was having problems with her computer and only wanted our paper documents showing our reservation and order information even though we could show her everything she needed on our phones, she gave us a major attitude and flat out refused to help and no one else standing around her would help either. As a last attempt to avoid having to go back and get our paper confirmation my husband called the concierge at Art of Animation who was able to pull everything up fine on her computer and fixed it all. She also took the name of the lady who wouldn't help us, and I guess reported the issue, because we got a call to ask about the situation and to find out if things were worked out satisfactorily.

Just a question. What happens if someone just calls 911 from a Disney property? Does it still go through Disney security first? My first instinct would always be to cal 911 over any hotel security.

    • @bryttani
      @bryttani 7 лет назад +1

Well, at WDW (I know there are confusing multiple county lines, etc) but the local governance is Reedy Creek, including police, which was basically invented for the property. Reedy Creek exists for Disney, and security at the Resort I'm sure works closely with them. You have a good question, but I bet whichever method you choose to report, the same people would probably be alerted.

My husband and I stayed at Port Orleans Riverside for the first time last October. I asked for a preferred room and casually mentioned that it would be nice to be closer to the dining hall and transport as I had some mobility issues (a recently sprained ankle that wasn't quite healed). Imagine our surprise when we opened the door to our wheel chair accessible room. I was confused why we would be given that room type until I re-thought the booking conversation. What I thought was bad customer service was actually really good service, in that the cast member listened to what I had actually said. They did kindly change our room.

Suggestion, how about best and worst guest to guest experiences? My wife and I were shopping in Pooh Corner at Disneyland perusing the trading pins when a girl, maybe 16 or 17, came up to us and asked us if we had watched Moana. We said yes we loved it! She then pulled out a piece of paper, which had an amazing pen sketch of Hei Hei and asked if we wanted her sketch! She seemed really happy that we liked it so much! We framed it when we got home and put it in our Disneyland themed guest bedroom!

They need to have better security at the resorts period, specifically the value resorts. That guy banging on the door is rare but what isn't rare is the noise and the raucous behavior at the values. At a certain hour security needs to be patrolling to get the guests to start quieting down. I absolutely hated Pop Century for this reason. After midnight I don't want to hear it, and I think that's being generous.

  • @miaz4766

My worst cast member/Disney experience: my family and our friends were staying at all star sports. We checked in and went straight to the parks, not yet putting our luggage in our room. We stayed at magic kingdom all night and when we got to the resort my family's room key (still the cards at this time) would not work. By this time it was around 11:30 pm. We went to the check in desk and they re registered our card. We walked all the way back to the room and it still did not work! By then it was past midnight and we called the front desk... they said someone would be right over to open our room. We waited out in the cold by the pool with all of our luggage for over an hour!! Finally, at 1:30 someone came on their golf cart and opened our room. Waiting for over 2 hours was pretty unbelievable and not what I expect from Disney!

The first one they're talking about reminds me of what happened to me and a friend when we went to Disneyland in late June. We went for our senior trip, and stayed for 3 days and 4 nights. The first night we didn't come back to our hotel until the park had closed. Once we got back to our room, my friend immediately passed out but I stayed up, editing pictures I had taken on my phone and messaging a friend who wanted to know how our first day went. As I'm laying in bed, with the lights off, I hear someone messing with our door. I ignore it because it could easily have been either of the doors next to us, but nope. It was our door. It goes on for a few minutes until the person OPENS the door, and just leaves. With the door open. Now the only reason why the door DID open was because the main lock on the door was broken, so I had only been able to close the latch. It was terrifying! My friend and I are are teenage girls, alone in a different state for the first time in our lives, and we both have TERRIBLE anxiety. It was the worst thing that could've happened.

I had a splash mountain cast member almost make me cry back in April. We were at the point in the queue where they tell you which number to go stand on to get into your boat. Well, he motioned at one number but said a different one so I was kind of confused. I moved to the number said and he rolled his eyes and said "no, you need to move, come on now" in the rudest tone imaginable. Hard to explain exactly why it upset me so much, it was like he was speaking to a dog or something, not a person. My husband wanted to make a complaint but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it.

Beth Gorence I took my niece to Disneyland last year and i was disappointed with her attitude because she was being a spoiled brat. She’s the only person who doesn’t like weather in CA and she was saying she likes the weather in Ohio because it’s colder. She’s a stupid person. She chickened out on the splash mountain ride and she wanted to back out on every ride that had a long line. I went to the oogie boogie bash and everything was cool except for the attitudes of the cast members who were enforcing the no flash photography rule for the villains world of color show and the Halloween parade. Cranky people people just want to ruin the mood whether they are cast members or patrons.

My most recent trip in July:
I was on Kali River Rapids, it was rather windy/stormy as it typically is in the afternoons, and my hat flew off and into the water. I have pins on the hat which means it (must have) sank to the bottom. This hat was irreplaceable, I got it in Australia (it still had dirt from my hikes in the outback stained on it), and it had some pins on it from Pandoraland and from the Jurassic World Experience (field museum in chicago) that I can't find anywhere else. To say I was distraught was an understatement, but I composed myself enough to inform the castmembers at the end of the ride that I lost my hat. My brother had lost his hat before on the bus and in three days it was in the central lost and found, so that's what I figured they would tell me. I was so wrong. Barely even acknowledging me, the castmember (Todd) said I'd never get the hat back, and even if I did it would be ruined beyond recognition and they would throw it out. It was obvious I had been crying before, but at that moment the figurative dam broke. I communicated to him that the hat was irreplaceable. His response: "that's too bad". He then told me I was blocking the exit line (I wasn't) and he would have to call security if I didn't leave; I'm only 20 years old, and I look way younger than that, what's worse, I was alone. Completely an inappropriate response to a guest! I managed to make my way to guest relations, and the woman there (Mary) gave me the card for lost and found services and told me to call after two days, and I saw her get on the phone with the people backstage at Kali to keep an eye out for the hat (she explained what happens with that ride, and that a hat typically doesn't make it out alive, but the way she delivered it was much more professional than the a-hole at Kali).
I never did get that hat back, after calling lost and found for 21 days after I lost the hat. Nor have I been able to acquire those pins...
What pisses me off is that they removed the central compartment for storing hats/bags and things in Kali several years ago, since I was alone I had to take all my things with me. If they had that compartment still I wouldn't have lost it.

I had a girl cast member flirt with my fiancé right in front of my face!! We where in the emporium on Main Street. She was being oh so flirty and was inviting him to Epcot that night to ride test track with a fast pass..I stood there next to him in complete shock! He just politely said "I already rode it with my Fiancé.its a fun ride" and grabbed my hand as we walked away. Let's just say it was quite the experience 😅😅

Here is one. We went to Disney in March this year I believe it was and was really pumped to go to see Animal Kingdoms new tight time show.
BEST experience. We had a fast pass and they were already almost full even though we showed up when we were supposed to on the fast pass but since it was almost full and knew that they could fill in some of the handicap seating they let us sit in the very front row of the stadium and it was an amazing experience that low.
WORST experience. After the show we were being herded out of the park like cattle and I saw a very young indian girl standing by herself with no parents around in the dark. I went to a cast member and told them about it and he said he would look into it. So I started to leave thinking he would take care of it and I turned to make sure something was happening and he didn't even move! So I told someone else and was sent out the door.
I never heard any news of anything so I am hoping all was well but thats not the reactions I hope to see when reporting a possible lost child.

That happened to us at great Wolf Lodge. There was a man banging on our Hotel door at 10 o'clock at night and he sounded drunk. I think he might have been on the autism spectrum though because of the things he was saying. We think he was lost and looking for his room and thought our room was his. He was very strong and banging hard on the door. I was there with my husband and two small children and was very scared. We called the front desk and they quickly had someone come and take care of the situation. (Maybe 15 min) It was still pretty nerve wracking though. I'm sure this women was super scared since she was alone. Great wolf lodge was quicker than disney in taking care of the situation!

A drunk girl tried to open our sliding glass door once at 2 or 3 am. We were staying on the ground level at Saratoga Springs. Apparently she couldn't remember where her room was, but it was very frightening to have someone pulling on your door in the middle of the night!! I request not to be on the ground level now!

This previous Saturday when I was leaving MK through the TTC drop off/pick up area (I was actually being picked up. I'm not "that guy"). As I was walking up I saw my car pulling up and was stopping at a crosswalk to let other pedestrians cross. As I walked toward the car a security officer yelled "Hey You!" I turned around and proceeded to get yelled at by the security officer that I needed to go all the way to the back of the drop off and pick up area to actually get picked up. All of this was going on whilst my pick up was sitting there blocking no traffic waiting for me to get in. He then said that he is pulling license plates and will get me for trespassing (I know, confusing). Respecting authority, I told my car to meet me in the back to pick me up. When we came back around to get the guys name to report to guest services he was gone and no sign of him nearby. I have been going to Disney consistently for about 7 years and have never had a cast member yell at me the way this one did, and what made it worse is I did nothing to insult or provoke the officer I just thought my car was there so I get in. I saw no signs that said car pick up was to the back.

As a former CM, these stories make me sad. They give Cast Members a bad name, especially the first and third stories. I'm glad to hear though that the good stories far outweighed the bad! Disney really puts a lot of emphasis on guest interaction and good customer service and it usually shows.

Security was probably too busy looking for the dunk guy if they didn’t bother to check on her. I wonder if other guests were complaining about him and they just happened to go check on those guests first. Once they got to her, it was enough of an issue that deputies needed to be called. The cast member DID say other guests were complaining about him. Security can’t be multiple places at once if a guy is running from door to door. They have to check on everyone who was affected. It probably took an hour because so many people were complaining and this woman, unfortunately, was at the end of the line. Not Disney’s fault that they can’t automatically have enough security guards to check everybody’s room that this guy is affecting in a timely manner. Sounds like they were doing their best in my opinion.

You know what's a great idea i know its not a transportation video just something random but you know when your at the bus station at the disney resort and it tells you what time the bus comes they should put that on the my disney expirence app and when the parks close they should do 2 buses every 20 min when the parks closed then it will get rid of the crowds. But anyways we were staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and we got a standard view but got upgraded to Savannah view.

I went to the front desk and told them and the guy apologized and gave us a $250 credit and some fast passes. Then last year when I went with my other 2 kids I opened the dresser to put clothes away and someone left their dirty socks in the drawer and toenails!! I wasn't given anything that time, which is fine, they said they were sorry and would have someone clean it up. But it makes me wonder how well these rooms are getting cleaned after?!

I've had some bad experiences at Disney over the years, one that when I was a kid (a little kid. Not a baby but not yet 5) and I did this twice so it was my fault but the response from Disney CM was what was horrible. I would climb up on the chairs in Ohanas and I fell off and one time I busted my eye open (not the eye ball) and instead of a CM taking us to First Aid they said "just take her to the pool and put chlorine in it and it'll be fine" that astounds me lol. Like pool??? How is that better and safer than first aid. But my all time scariest and most annoying experience was not at Disney it was at Hard Rock Hotel and my boyfriend was staying with me and my family for the first time. It was about 9PM at night and we go out into the hall to get some ice. We hear a huge group of teenagers running down the hall laughing and making noises. About a minute later we hear some guy come out a room across from ours yelling and we peeked out from the ice room to see wtf what going on. He sees us peek and starts going off on us. This guy was shirtless and buff and he was literally cussing us out and threatening to fight us. Now we don't know what in the world happened so we were saying "man calm down we haven't done anything" and he kept saying "we have been here for 5 days and you both keep making loud noises every single night we are here and waking up our baby" now we had literally just checked in an hour before this happened and we're only staying there for one night. We told him that and he called us liars and was pushing my boyfriend (now I was 18 and my boyfriend was/is a buff 23 year old) and my boyfriend was getting pissed and I was a short little 18 year old and I kept saying "you need to stop we were not the ones doing it we just checked in" over and over then his WIFE comes out and she literally says "I am a psychiatric you have problems" and was telling us literally why we were making all these noises (even though we werent) in a emotional level all while the guy was trying to fight us (literally doing the "you wanna go bro? You want to take this outside??? We can take this outside right now") and we just kept looking at them like they were crazy and we eventually got back to our rooms (which was sadly right across the hall from theirs) and they were saying "we will call security " and someone actually did call security but I don't think it was them because the security came to our door first and asked us if we were okay and what happened. That morning we went to the front desk and they apologized about what happened and it wasn't their fault but it just still makes me so mad that someone jumps to conclusions so fast that they will fight someone who literally just got to the hotel because a group of kids have been loud for the past 5 days. It ruined our time.

I feel sorry for anyone whose companion is so soused he/she has to leave the drunk behind in the bar rather than guide him to his correct room. The friend/mate is the one who should have asked for help in dealing with the drunk back in the bar. I just got to assume people don't go solo to a Disney resort to drink.

Contrary to your take, Disneyland is bad as well. Cast members there are NOT magical, they are just employees, Not portraying a "role". But even at WDW I had roaches at the waterside restaurant at EPCOT and they just didn't care, not even an apology. Just an "okay". At the Disneyland Hotel, Compass level, we had bugs in the room, chipped damaged furniture and broken lights and phone. NOTHING was done. Blue Bayou was seated in the back near the smelly garbage and noisy kitchen door. It made us sick from the smell of the food that was spoiling in the large open garbage can. EVERY trip there has been something like that. Those are just a few things that have happened.
