Yesssss! Have searched high and low for this recipe/how to make the blackberry cobbler with upper/lower crusts plus "dumplings" that weren't dry or doughy - or too many of them. This is it! Thank you, thank you!!!! This is exactly how my grandmother made it, even down to slits on top and sugar/butter. Couldn't remember details until I saw you do it here. Again, thank you! I have to admit, I watched for so long I thought oh no I'm not getting any younger , LOL. Then when you put the crust on the bottom and put it in the oven I was hanging on every word. That is life as I knew it as a child. Best way to cook a cobbler. I wish we lived next door to each other.. The kids will love it. Thanks for the video.

YES Gawd!!! This gives me that good fuzzy feeling inside!! Like you a small girl at Grammas house, I only get this feeling when I smell or eat certain foods, like the old pine sol! Ivory soap, blackberry pie, fried chicken, cornbread, and homemade biscuits!! It's just makes me giggly and happy like I just wanna hug folks and walk around the house in my sleepin dress in pigtails!! Thank you Aunty!!

Yes I agree those smells take you there. But That ivory soap smell was everything my mother used it too every time we went somewhere the smell stayed with you all day. That was my favorite soap it’s not the same my skin was so soft. Made my clothes and sheets smell so good. Those were the days ladies. My grandma's blackberry cobble was like this. I loved this and her Egg Custard Pie. You will never get them at any restaurant I have ever been in. Lol. Grandma passed away in 2000 at the age of 97. I truly miss her.

Ms Brenda, my grandma made her blackberry cobbler the same way, but she didn't have the convenience of frozen blackberries! No, ma'am -- we had to go pick the blackberries if we wanted cobbler. Of course, she also made her own pie crust, a skill I never could master, so I buy mine too. I put this on one of my playlists so I can make some soon.

Oh sweetheart this looks AMAZING. My grandmother was famous for her berry cobbler. She passed away in 2003 and unfortunately no one learned how to make it. And she didn’t have a recipe. Ma'am you did that perfectly. Me and my oldest sister and a older cousin would pick strawberries in the summer that grew alongside of the road and sometimes we went into the woods and they would be hugh. My grandmama would make the best cobblers. My mom and her sisters and brothers were all good cooks and they've passed it to all of us kids and you my friend is now my honorary cousin. Lol

Love this recipe...When I lived in rural Virginia we’d pick them off a huge bramble. Then we would put them in freezer bags to make cobbler all year long.
I add a lil lemon juice, enhances the berry flavor

Okay, so far I've made your mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and. The beef and gravy...now I'm trying this in the oven as I write this. My store was out of just blackberries so I had to use the mix of BlackBerry, blueberry, and raspberry. We use to pick dewberries from the tree in Bastrop, Texas, having to be careful of the snakes! LOL! Nothing but love❤️❤️❤️
Dewberries don’t grow on trees-bushes lol! Oh my, you are mashing those berries, they’ll be nothing but mush. Grandma wouldn’t use a store bought pie crust and the blackberries would be hand picked. Sorry, this is not a n old fashioned recipe
