Funny, just the other day I had a plastic stem left over as well and thought I should save it for just the same idea. Great minds think alike I guess! Love the tree and cut up leaves. I also painted all my green leaves with a sponge using reds, golds, greens and orange colors all blended together and was amazed at how gorgeously real they looked. I varied the color combinations. I finished it with a Mod Podge finish. They are gorgeous!
