- This is a review video about the 6'6'' inflatable OLAIAN surfboard by Decathlon. Tested in the Spanish Atlantic Ocean and German Baltic Sea.
We didn't receive any money or other for this video by Decathlon but would be happy about a discount on the 7'6'' inflatable OLAIAN surfboard for my boyfriend :D
I’ve been using this board for 3 years . because of Covid I need a small board to fit in a back to sneak out and go surfing usually a scooter. This board has been a lot of fun. I much prefer it over my real fiberglass long board; as it can take a beating and won’t hurt anyone getting hit by it. I’m heavy at 80 kilos and I can catch small waves with it. Great board for a fun day of surfing
This is so cool. It makes the difference between being able to surf and not being able to surf when there are travel restrictions. This fits with my fantasy of searching for waves on my motorcycle. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the nice review. Bought this 6'6" board for my daughter (and myself). Easy to take with you on a plane for holidays. The board is stiffer then expected. I am much heavier than my daughter but when the waves are pushing I also enjoy riding it.
Thanks for the review ! I started learning surfing one season before Decathlon's release, yet so I bought a Gong inflatable board and a Decathlon softboard, and as a beginner I don't need a hard resin board yet. Gong-Galaxy is selling directly to end users with high quality at unbeatable prices (100€ less than Decathlon for this model, and a pump is included). Decathlon claims their thinner models (2" 9/16) are better than 3" thick ones. But Gong's inflatable surfboards kept 3" thickness to avoid too much flex for heavier surfers, and were improved by switching single fin to 3 FCS2 fins and adding rubber angle rails towards the tail, and claim higher volumes help beginners catch more waves: volume of 6'3 board is 63L, 7"3 78L, 8' 93L, 9' 110L. Decathlon's new pump seems easier to push and makes higher pressure but less volume per stroke, this may be useful for lighter riders, while Gong's pump needs to put more of body weight on arms to inflate to 15 PSI and slightly above (up to 19 PSI if one wants but it is not really necessary).
Hi flo.
Very good review, thank you so much! Using English also helps to watch this video in Russia.
My pleasure :)
Danke für das Review!
Gerne :)
Hallo, Frage: Wo gibts denn das Board? Finde online nur die 7´6 Variante, hätte aber gerne das 6´6 Board.
Danke!
I’m quite intrigued!!!
Very helpful, thank you!
thanks for the review, very instructive
Great review, thanks
Hello, very interesting stuff.I want to restart surfing after 2 years of almost stop. I was used to surf a longboard , 9,1 , i think about 75/80 lt . I have surfed recently with a rental big soft top. My weight is 60 kilos but never surfed shortboards , and i am old aged (over 40). Do you think it's the right board to restart surfing? Should i evaluate the bigger one? Thanks in advance, very useful video.
great review and Thanks for using English.
Glad you found it helpful
Is it good for beginners? I found very convenient about inflatability.
Depends on how heavy you are, I think up to 70kg its very beginner friendly :) i would say with a little practice most beginners, even heavier ones should be able to catch waves with it.
really good
Thank you :)
It is very thin for an inflatable surfboard. Like a real one. Interesting...
Could u use it also for SUP....I refer to the 7.6 Version...your 6.6 is too tiny for SUP. What do you think? Thanks S
Hi, I am afraid that also the 7'6 version will be too small buouncy wise for the use as a sup. Unless you're a small child, maybe 30 kg.
Dream board😢😢😢 no where to buy. I wish Decathlon so much can do an international shipping.
You can always use package forwarding.
