The quickest way to harden your punch is the bulk up your forearms. The more muscles you have on your forearm the more shock absorbers you have. More shock absorbers mean so hard you can hit.

A two part question: 1) Will this nature of conditioning adversely affect the range of motion and/or dexterity of the hands as they adapt? Asking as a musician also looking to excel in martial arts with the least trade-off of functionality 2) Will injuries incurred from improper form in the past be exacerbated in the course of conditioning? or do you feel the hands are more likely to compensate & effectively undo said injuries (dislocated carpal and blunted knuckles fwiw)

Keep in mind everyone you should, like he said, accelerate, but don't get in that mindset when in a REAL fight. This video is just for conditioning your knuckles. Rather, you should try to get your punch to the face, neck, stomach, crotch, whatever it may be, as fast as possible. Don't start slow then speed up. Try to tell your self that you can get your fist to hit your possible attacker faster than that of a gun. That mindset is what you should use in a real fight. If you can hit them as fast and as hard as you can, they won't have time to block or dodge it. That's how a fight can be ended in just one second.
@@fightscience but since last two months I have been punching the walls of mu house(10 every day) but nothing has happened. Instead I don't feel any pain now

Adham Rataba If you can't hang a bag on your wall then a good alternative would be a bag of peas. You kneel over it to lay your fist in to it, but it is not practical for Wing Chun chain punching because this angle doesn't allow you to use your back (Lat) muscles. The main thing is to condition your knuckles, so at the very least rest your hand on a bag in the manner shown in the video. Thanks for the question.

The best way I've found is to grip sand in a bucket fast 50 times then punch the sand 50 times and repeat for 3-5 minutes. I then took a shovel, snapped the end off, and taped a long rope with a five pound plate to it. I mean especially in this weather, the sand is cold, but I have to. My hands used to be fragile from nutritional deficiencies in my youth, but now they're becoming like bricks. Have you tried sand before? What were you thoughts?
You are using one of the oldest training methods known to man, Blake! The Shaolin monks have been doing that for centuries! Once you get use to the sand, then you can step it up and start using small rocks, gradually increasing in size. Also, don't forget other exercises as well, like various grippers (v-shaped as well as the rectangular ones and the circular ones they use in karate where you put your fingers in leather holders and squeeze), a short broom handle with a rope attached to a weight that you roll up and down (with the palms up and down to work the tops and bottoms of the forearms, taking a dumbell and curling it (palms up and palms down again),and the old classic, just hanging for as long as you can from a pull up bar. This will not only make your fingers tough, but strengthen your hands which will increase your power and help you if you have to grapple.

But you do what you want. punching walls are still effective.

+Sridutt YS it's just a canvass sack. They are easy to make, but it is simple to buy. Just do a search for a Wing Chun wall bag. Sometimes called sandbags. Hope that helps you.
I am curious why your knuckle punching position is so different from traditional karate and other systems? It seems punching with the first two knuckles is much more solid structure. Similarly for doing knuckle push-ups.
Good question. It relates to the orientation of the elbow. We keep our elbows in to better engage the back muscles. So using the bottom 3 knuckles allows us to keep a straight alignment from knuckles, elbow and shoulder. You can test this with press ups. Hope that helps.
Pounding sand and other things ! and when you hit the bag or a person use the total body by hip movement toward your target areas increases power to the strike that can send them flying away from you ! I know this is true have left them up over 4 feet into the air and five to eight feet away from myself with one hit to their chest !...

Conditioning knuckels on bare wall is dangerous and it can cause injuries. But it's a powerful exercise for your knuckels. Your knuckels are much more harder and more endurable. But know that it is dangerous.
I have been a boxing for some time and have had a couple amateur fights, just wondering why you don't rotate your fists while punching? I have been taught that rotating the fist adds twerk
jack nelson Hey, the twerk adds and extra bit of acceleration that Wing Chun gets from pivoting the wrist up and down rather than side to side. Also when you rotate your fist sideways it changes the position of the rotator cuff (I think it's called, could be wrong) in your shoulder. This isn't good because any returning force from the punch will easily break the structure or your punch making it less affective. Check out Entertaichi that channel has done really good videos on the Wing Chun punch and explains it really well..! Hope this helps.. 👊

jack nelson Hey, the twerk adds and extra bit of acceleration that Wing Chun gets from pivoting the wrist up and down rather than side to side. Also when you rotate your fist sideways it changes the position of the rotator cuff (I think it's called, could be wrong) in your shoulder. This isn't good because any returning force from the punch will easily break the structure or your punch making it less affective.
