I cannot believe that I've only been brought to this stage on the day that this great man announced his retirement after the season. What a legend in Dutch cycling and I so hope he takes a coaching role in Jumbo Visma. Regardless of what he does after his career is over it was such a joy to watch him and I am going to root for him every step of the way until the last day of the season, lets hope he can get one more stunning victory like this prior to that. Maybe even the ITT world champs ;)
I usually don't scream at screens.... but that day I did. My neighbour (3 years later) still asks me "Are you okay again?" And I am. I am okay again.... but barely.
Goosebumps! Even with the title of the video, at 150 meter from the finish line, you think he won't make it but he does! Amazing. A shame he has retired. Great sportman, 'our' Tom!
It is sad he retired and that he feels to much pressure to preform well he says. I do want to thank him a lot as a Dutch cycling fan. Cause boy in those 4 years that he was at his peak he was amazing to watch. Gave us so much excitement. I wish he would continue and don't give a fuck about media and other peoples opinion but it is what it is. Thanks Tom.
Awesome rider, good in the mountain, great at time trial. To me he only needs one or two rider to help him in the mountain to resist the sky train and win TDF. Unfortunatly Sunweb doesn't have any at the needed level.
I think Sunweb has a great team to help Dumoulin, they absolutely dominated the course in TDF. They didn't have a great rider (like Dumoulin) to go for the general classification, but the determined the course when they went on for a stage win. When they participate in TDF with Dumoulin I think they will do great.
I agree, the team is great, but I was thinking of a sergeant like Landa or Thomas are for Froome, Fuglsang for Aru, Valverde for Quintana. Since Barguil is leaving they won't have a lot of climber next year, so I am just hoping they will recruit one.
In Giro, after I watched the stage again, it was all Dumoulin fault. As virtual leader, it was his job to defend the lead, HIS JOB. Never mind wheelsuckers, just the one who ran away with the race was ONLY one he needs to care.
More bicycles for everybody plizzzzzz, more cycling partnerships world wide every single school of every single village on this planet if possible fans, kids deserve to enjoy such a great adventure of life.. beyond the birth date, cycling is a lifestyle to be loved forever you can bet on it fans, supporters like me are pushing pedals from home next to you and it's the best time of our lives
3 years later, this is still the best uphill finish I've ever seen
@Edwin Jansen, the stage where people said Quintana would start getting time back from Dumoulin. Awesome stuff.
Edwin Jansen Well, both times it’s a Dutch winner...
Indeed
@@Orduz ive seen better. But this is top 5. Crazy what he did
The arrival of Oropa in 2017 was also great in the same spirit

This is one of the best, most thrilling stages I have ever seen
Up until today:)
That goes for me too.

Legend. Sad to see him retire after 22
10:48 Tom looking back & checks the marker, still 300m to go! what a cool head on those shoulders!!
This was the day that the GC rider Tom Dumoulin was born then he did find out he can mix it with the big boys
Whoa, was this really, it, i tried to search when it happened.
This was the exact day
@@Sequal78 the exact 14:40
I don't think so. But his real revelation as GC I think was on stage 11 with all big climbs including the final
Weer even teruggekeken door de lsrf podcast ;)
Haha ik ook

This is the day that the Dutch found their rising star in cycling. For me this is even beter then the win in 17. What a stage
@Edwin Jansen Keldermans TT is not good enough i'm afraid
Deze zit wel in mijn top 3 ontknopingen/nagelbijters van de laatste jaren, samen met La Course 2018 en AGR 2019.
Froome was looking at power meter but so was Dumoulin. Wish Dumoulin is back and back in his old form.
Dumoulin rode his TTs without power meter and also used to tape half of the info on it as it only messed with him mentally.
@@draregrevtaam1147 the difference between a proper cyclist and an unlikable robot like froome
One of the best sprints, included the mass sprints!

Wilco Kelderman
Trucydide maybe Sam oomen but he needs to show himself this vuelta
Yep, we'll see
Also Kelderman can do it but not alone
Who watches after he has won the giro
Job De Graaf me
Me not
Thanks Tom, you’ve made us proud!
One of the best stage finish Ive seen
A Carlton Kirby announcing exhibition. The greatest.
What a legend!
Heartbreak to hear his retirement in such a young age😭
Amazing performance by Tom Doumolin
Tom not forgotten!
Incredible recovery from Dumoulin
wauw, echt wauw. diep respect
This was so cool...Froome thought he had it covered haha
potentially froome biggest opponent at TDF 2018. froome really need sky train to drop him at the mountain for making a gap before ITT
I think both Froome and Dumoulin try the Giro first.
Unfortunately Froome went insane in the Giro
turns out froome's biggest opponent was his own teammate. lol
In Giro, after I watched the stage again, it was all Dumoulin fault. As virtual leader, it was his job to defend the lead, HIS JOB. Never mind wheelsuckers, just the one who ran away with the race was ONLY one he needs to care.

Oh how we miss this Tommeke!
100% he was 100% natural no dope, is very good man. Almost like a student in cycling.
La vuelta is the GOAT
Tom is a beast
Grande! Mi piacerebbe ascoltare questo in Italiano.
Come back soon Tom!
World class
este dia demostro los galones que tenia grande Tom
Hopelijk gaan we weer genieten van hem.
Quel final
Dig deep down
11.23 Froome's doping stopped working
if anyone is doping here then it is Dumoulin
Prove it bitch!!! Tom has always been clean unlike Froome.......
Hahaha
@@lewistaylor2858 u been smoking crack, Tom is from a much cleaner team.
@@MsPietpaaltjes you cant say that Froome is doping and yet gets beaten by Dumoulin...
