This year, for your consideration, the revolutionary 1997 Altyn P2M for a new definition in a personal vehicle, call our waiting dealers today for a consultation, financing options are available.
@@red-cap_shroom that's a fair point anything chambered in 7.62 has a lot of oomph behind it. But wasn't that the standard round used by the Russians at the time. Actually, I think Russian weapons generally revolve around 7.62 or some variation of it.
@@bob89377 no, by that time our standard pistol round was 9x18, when rifle round was 5,45x39. They still are, by the way. 7,62 uses only in high caliber sniper rifles and machineguns. Honestly, we used 7,62 in that amount only in first half of XX century.
As someone who owns an Altyn, i’d like to make one correction. Although yes, removing the visor makes the unit lighter, it does not make it more comfortable. The visor is essential for keeping the helmet balance and, when removed, causes the unit to slide backwards on the head, making you look to the sky unless you have some strong neck muscles. For that reason removing the visor is only traditionally done when using a scoped rifle from a safe position, and even then most opt to remove the helmet entirely.
Makes sense, if it wasn't rear heavy, it would cant forward as soon as the visor was on. Was there a carry hook for it on the plate carrier? I imagine it would be something people would take off to rest frequently.
@@CtrlAltRetreat No hook that I'm aware of, the only good option was really to pop one side of the visor out of its socket and sort of stretch the visor over the little metal plate on the forehead that prevents it going up too high. Then it sits high on the head, mostly forward, helping with the center of mass a little. But then it could catch on the sides and top of optics.
As a tig psh-77 owner it is the opposite for me. When I try to aim while the visor is up, helmet starts to slide down to my eyes and makes pressure to my eyebrows which makes harder to see. With the visor down position it is perfect but you cant proparly aim. Germans make special stocks for using with the visored helmets or you can use laser pointer to aim which i dont have yet. I have solved the problem with using a goggle while wearing the helmet. Wearing goggles prevents the helmet from sliding down to my eyes and secures its position when the visor is up. Downside is now I have a fogging problem. Damn it.
It's kinda sad all the R6 player can't differentiate any russian helmet with a visor. I was expecting people to be somewhat right and spam pubg level 3 helmet

In Soviet Russia, you don't wear helmet, helmet wear you. When you die it gets a new person.
It is true that how Soviet Union works

Average Dude1232 ok
I knew the Altyn as a coin, but never heard about the helmet. You learn something new every day
My favorite helmet, i even made a replica of it!
Why does people keep saying that this is Tachanka's Helmet.....
Chunky's helmet is a Maska not an Altyn
*heavy metal music and PKM rampage intensifies*
Altyn in the turkic languages mean "gold" So, this is golden helmet )

The only game to get the Altyn correctly, since you need a fucking anti material rifle to damage it
"1997 Altyn P2M" sounds like a name for a car. Like, yeah I drive a P2M.
This year, for your consideration, the revolutionary 1997 Altyn P2M for a new definition in a personal vehicle, call our waiting dealers today for a consultation, financing options are available.
Spetsnaz : We need more protection
Institute of steel : How much protection are we talking about??

Man I’m pretty sure my Altyn ate a bs round on factory....
All you need is a suit a neck tie and a frying pan and you're done...

thats a pistol round. At pistol fighting distance. If it has trouble blocking that its not much more useful then any other helmet.
@@bob89377 TT-33 uses 7,62х25 rounds, it does not fucking around
@@red-cap_shroom that's a fair point anything chambered in 7.62 has a lot of oomph behind it. But wasn't that the standard round used by the Russians at the time. Actually, I think Russian weapons generally revolve around 7.62 or some variation of it.
@@bob89377 no, by that time our standard pistol round was 9x18, when rifle round was 5,45x39. They still are, by the way. 7,62 uses only in high caliber sniper rifles and machineguns. Honestly, we used 7,62 in that amount only in first half of XX century.
@@red-cap_shroom Huh, why did you guys switch to 5.45 x 39 instead of 7.62?
Damn it.
@@Tartarus34 I'd reccomend some Revision anti-fog wipes for that. Pricey but they work amazingly.
It's kinda sad all the R6 player can't differentiate any russian helmet with a visor. I was expecting people to be somewhat right and spam pubg level 3 helmet
