"Empty Nest" is set in Miami and tells of the day to day misadventures of a widowed pediatrician, Harry Weston, and his two adult daughters, Barbara and Carol Weston, who have come back to live with him after failed marriages. Much of the humor is derived from Barbara and Carols' ongoing attempts, and failure, to find the perfect partner, and once again leave the "nest". There is also the skirt-chasing next door neighbor, Charlie Dietz and Harry's southern nurse, Laverne Todd, unique for her unbelievable Hickory stories. Empty Nest is an American sitcom television series that originally aired on NBC from October 8, 1988, to April 29, 1995. The series, which was created as a spin-off of The Golden Girls by creator and producer Susan Harris, starred Richard Mulligan as recently widowed pediatrician Dr. Harry Weston, whose two adult daughters return home to live with him. Harry is such a good father.
When i was living w my father in my early 20's for a few months, I dated a guy who beat me. I came home with bruises after spending the weekend with him. He stalked and threatened me....I told/showed my father everything - he did nothing.
My mother's father was sexually molesting my siblings and I on a regular bases. I kept it secret for years before telling my favorite teacher at school in 7th grade in tears.
She said she has to tell my parents. I was scared what might happen.....
My mother didn't believe me, and my father took the criminal shopping a few days later for his senior citizen discount at the Hardware store.
All those fathers who would kill anyone who touched their children.... i always wondered what that must be like to have a father who cares.
I didn't break off contact with him until 3 years ago, when i was 44.
I never felt better in my entire life!!!!
Suddenly, I could see all the other people, like him, in my life and was able to EASILY distance myself from them.... Right now, I'm the happiest I've ever been.
Suddenly my marriage is wonderful, friendships full of love and acceptance. I can't believe what a difference it makes, once poison is removed.
Both my sisters are still in touch with him.
Learn from my mistake....don't wait 20 years to feel this joy, peace and harmony 🥰

I thought Barbara went a bit overboard too.... but love will make us do crazy things
This is toxic example of parent love. So he have seen immediately that something is wrong with this guy, but when was about Carol marriage nothing, when her ex husband apparel in the season 1 I think and hurt her again he didn't really have a reaction.....well that exactly what means to have a favourite child, which is treated like a joke in this show and generally in the late 20 century parents generation but it a damn painful poisoning thing for a child. If somebody isn't capable to love all the children the same (which is actually a psychiatric problem derived from a form of narcissism where the subject offers his/her affection according to subjective "likes" topics related to who looks more like the subject, or have the subject gesture or attitude, or who has a certain hair color that that individual likes more and other misery like that, even mothers who preferred boys because they need men approval and adoration in their life and not having it they concentrate to take that from their sons and fathers who, having complexes, most of the time being rejected by women in the past, focuses their, destructive attention this time, on daughters, trying to turn them into a perfect woman as the individual would have wanted to have himself, witch is both narcissistic and disgusting) then should not have more than one without a proper treatment before, or even better, no child. It's not enough a decade to calculate the cases of psychopathy I see started from such parents narcissisms, from which criminals were born, which today I and my colleagues from INTERPOL are following.
