I need to do something because no clear coat has it staying looking kind of dusty, dull and dingy looking honestly. Thx for the tip.
@@rashb3994 I’ve haven’t seen many do it this way, that’s awesome to hear it’s working. Honestly if it’s totally free and clean of contaminants you should be able to wipe on without even scuffing or sanding. That’s what I did at least. I hope that wipe on clear coats would adhere to your roll on paint. It probably would. I actually buffed my paint with compound right before I put on the wipe on clear coat.
@@Alexautopaintglasscoatings Okay cool, I may try it your way with buffing with a compound though I don't have a machine so I may have to do it by hand, but I'm thinking even that will improve the dull and then i'll try your wipe on. Kind of excited to try because this will be less hassle and I will be able to do it sooner so if I try this soon I will definitely report back to you. I appreciate you putting me onto this. Thx!
I've tried it on my fender, i messed up, do much "coulure", hope polish with sandpaper will fix it
You might have to wait for it to go hard, then flatten it back with wet and dry and then re paint it🤷♂️
Interesting, but I can't find it this particular gloss and brand anywhere. Do you have a link? Also, wish you would speak up louder and at least have a closed captioning available. Even at maximum volume I can't hear you.
🤷♂️sorry volume wasn’t good on that video, but the others are better thankfully
As for a link, just look up craftmaster paint I. Google it will come up.
Thank you for watching
What's the name of the clear or how do I buy it or where can I get it .and the brush any kind or like the one in the video...
All information is in the videos, must be a good quality brush.
Thank you
It’s called Coma Bernice clear coat from HMG company in the uk!
But they ship all over the world.
do you really have to wait five weeks to buff it?
This paint won’t buff, it’s all in the application to get the shine, you can wax it after about 5 weeks later, but by hand not machine.
Not bad !
Thank you 👍
I have a 2001 Peugeot 307 body work perfect but in need of a repaint, might try hand painting and then clear coating, any special base coats and clear seals I should use plus brushes?
I used craftmaster paints, primer, undercoat and topcoats
As for the brushes I used 3” Harris synthetic brush and a Hamilton 4” tipping brush, sometimes called a laying off brush on eBay.
The better quality brush used the better! Make sure you clean the brush after each coat like new again! This is very important in the process.
Heat the paint in a saucepan of hot water as you applying it, keep re heating this helps the paint flow better. Good luck keep me updated. Cheers Steve
hey do you use any thinners in the clear coat? or do you use straight from the can?
Straight from the tin.
How about basecoat with a paint brush I use it today on my truck in spots but I don't know if it will work.
If it’s slow drying it will work, no problem 👍
Can you provide the link for buy online that clear coat that you used?
www.symphonycoatings.co.uk/
You need a 10$ brush uncle 😂
Sorry I don’t follow what you mean?
What paint do you use buddy as looking to do this to my old metro
Hi Ryan, it’s called craftmaster coach enamel paint
Cheers Steve
Would you recommend brush or roller?
For myself personally a brush, I have more control of the paint!
But lots of people prefer the roller, you need to try both ways and decide which is best for you.
Regards Steve
@@2194steve thanks a lot Steve I’ll try the brush first and see how it turns out
I have one patch on my roof where the clear coat has lifted. Do you think I could use this to "hidé" the patch?
Yes but you need to do the whole roof,so it blends in.
@@2194steve Okay, thanks. I was hoping to just patch it, to give it a bit of a shine instead of looking flat.
Does the coach paint also the clear coat leave brush marks ? Thanks
No brush marks anywhere, it’s the technique of feathering out that eradicates the brush marks out completely 😉
Hi
Please could you tell me where to purchase Coma Berenice clear coat 5052.
Many thanks
I can’t remember where I got it! I think from Birmingham? Not really sure
But if you Google it there’s lots of companies come uk
I know HMG manufacturers it in Manchester, they will tell you who stocks it .
Sorry I can’t be more helpful regards Steve
How many quarts did a full coat take? I'm planning to do 3 coats of that
I did 2 litre
Hi, may i know what clear coat did you use? Thanks
Hi Thomas I can’t remember off hand, but I show it in one of the videos.👍
I can’t find the link the buy this product.can you post it? I looked online and the one store I found says sold out.
Sorry Sarah I don’t sell it , it’s made by a company in the uk called HM Guest in Manchester
They might tell you who they supply! Worth a shot.
Thank you Regards Steve
Is that an oil based clear?
Yes it’s all oil based inc clear coat
I can't find this product anymore. I need it badly
Where have you tried?
Could this go over a water based paint ?
Yes I think so, but check with your paint supplier first to make sure👍
Where you buy it and what thinner did you use
It’s from Craftmaster, thinned with white spirit
Can you roll this one with a small smooth roller??
I tried it with a foam roller at first, but quickly changed to brush only! I felt more in control personally but that’s me🤷♂️
Can I use any automotive clear for a brush on technique?
Sorry Jess you can’t, it drys to fast. It’s needs to be slow drying to make it brush on.
@@2194steve oh ok , thank you 🙌🏽 I’m fairly new and looking to use automotive clear coat on small projects , can automotive clear coat be shot out of an air brush gun instead of a paint gun?
@@jessthebarber yes I think it’s possible, although I haven’t tried it myself 👍
Where did you buy the varnish I can't find it
H Dan only just seen your message
It’s from Symphony coatings
Where to buy?
If you’re in the uk it’s called craftmaster paint
Made my Manchester company called H.M.Guest
Does it drip?
Sorry mate not sure what you mean, it isn’t non drip if that’s what you mean.
any product like this sold in the US?
Hi I think the nearest you have to this product in the USA is One-Shot 🤷♂️
@@2194stevewhich one-shot product?
Can this be applied to any paint ?
Yes as far as know, but check with the paint manufacturers first to make sure.
Thank You . I always thought you had to paint cars with a spray gun before watching your video . I'm guessing cars are painted with a spray gun now to save on money and for self leveling possibly ?
@@MrDnkcat I don’t think personally you get the same depth of shine from a spray gun! If you look at say a 1920s 1930s Bugatti you will see what I mean, well if it was good enough for RR up till the 1980s it’s good enough for me.
I have a pro gun and a pro paint booth.... His clearcoat looks better than mine :/
Thank you sir 😂😂😂😂😂
@@2194steve And to be clear, I say that with all honesty!
Would you sell the mini?
Yes if the right offer came👍
He doesn’t know how to lay off paint,he left what us professional painters call fish tails when trying to lay it off by putting the brush into the wet varnish and brushing downwards instead of brushing from the bottom upwards.
Hi Barry thank for your comment it’s much appreciated
Being your a professional painter as it were!
Please please upload a video showing us all how it’s really done.
I and thousands of others are waiting eagerly 👍
How to save thousands of pounds and make your car look new…
Thank you ma lord 👍
@@2194steve I shall have to do this with my 2004 Saab 9-5 which has sat looking rather sad since I stopped using it in favour of my 2011 9-5.
Have you any experience in stripping paint from parts?
Does the paint go on modern metal the same as old? I assume production techniques improved as time went on so paint would adhere better, but I assume the primer is the most important factor?
@@lordmartinofleithandcuddy6541 sorry I haven’t, but I used to use nitromores sore taking paint of bodywork.
Very effective but quite dangerous.
@@2194steve so how did you get the body parts in a position to paint them?
@@lordmartinofleithandcuddy6541 not sure what you mean?
Only the doors were off the rest was in one piece.
