    Thank you for this video. Do you maybe know where I can find 3d models for the mikron hpm 450u 5axis milling machine?

    I literally spent the day doing this same thing for a VF2, VF3, VF4, VF6, & UMC-750. Great minds think alike lol

      👍 Its great Haas puts all those files right up on the site!

    Well i got thru all this build and was almost successful. I had a few troubles 1 being the HML file not being able to be read when picking machine. The folder and the XML file must read the same name exactly don't miss a thing .So i get it to work machine comes in except my machine is like an inch big and my part is like 20 inches bigger. So im about to start over the model is scaled in solid works correctly. I saw another vid that said you have to build in metric or it wont work. Well that cant be true as i see inches all over this build. I did convert the file to a Parasolid file from solid works . So now im going to convert the file to metric the send it as a metric Parasolid file. . Then create the STL files from Mastercam to a folder. Do i have to scale it in mastercam ?

    • @CamInstructor
      @CamInstructor  Год назад

      Open the XML file in the folder with all the components, any text editor will work, with in the first few lines you'll see either inch or metric. Just make it the opposite and save the file. Should be good after that

    Nice video can you make one showing how to make a lathe as well as a mill/turn?

    HI...caminstructor...do you have a video ..how to build virtual UMC750 hass on mastercam?

    • @CamInstructor
      @CamInstructor  4 года назад

      The steps would be the same as this video. Only difference is adding the extra rotational axis, which you should be able to handle once going through these 2 videos.

    Got confused on how to actually accomplish this in a machine like the HAAS UMC750
    the same entities have to be set as X Y and Z

  • @fuentesmtbcnc9082
    @fuentesmtbcnc9082 3 года назад

    How did you make X axis Y axis and Z axis a single component from the assembly?

    • @CamInstructor
      @CamInstructor  3 года назад

      Its all in the video. You need to export sections of the assembly and then bring those into machsim.

    • @fuentesmtbcnc9082
      @fuentesmtbcnc9082 3 года назад

      @@CamInstructor But I have 44 entities in Z, 94 in X, 8 in Y, and you only have one entity in each level

    • @CamInstructor
      @CamInstructor  3 года назад +1

      Thats fine. You can export all entities as one stl. You can also add multiple bodies to mach sim for each axis but you only really need to do this if you want to specify them as separate colors...otherwise just export them all as 1 stl

    I've been building my own machine for Machine Simulation in mastercam X9: HAAS trunion TRT-160 into HAAS VF4-SS. I did something wrong and I modified the "5_5AXGEN_VMCTTAB" and "5AxHeadHead" (I thought I copied them and then modified, but I modified the originals ). Could anyone please attach the XML and STL files for that machines? It was my stupid fault... Maybe the X7 or X8 files are good as well.
    Thanks, and best regards!

    • @CamInstructor
      @CamInstructor  2 года назад

      I don't have anything that old installed anymore. If you have the original install media, re-installing should replace those files.
      Also, not 100% on both xml and stl, but I don't think there is any difference in the xml files over the years. An xml file from 2022 is exactly the same as the one in 2023, so maybe you can install the free HLE and grab the machine files from there and stick them in the older version? I have no idea if that will work for machine files from 2023 into X9, just a possible solution if you're stuck.

      You can get around the HLE rule of not being able to export STLs. I made a video about it here...

      Thanks a bunch! I just started working with mastercam, and did the free online certificate classes. I’ve really only ever programmed in Surfcam or FeatureCam so I’m pretty unfamiliar with it still. Amazing how your vids, and vids from Titan of cnc are better than anything on mastercam edu....

      1. Download the vice from the manufacturer
      2. Click the file button in the top left hand corner of the screen
      3. Select merge
      4. Locate the file (if the file isn't showing up when you search for it, make sure you change the file type in the bottom right corner.. change it to all files, it's set to only show Mastercam files default)

      I will be going into this bit in Part 2 of this, specifically when it gets into setting the right offset for the fixture being loaded into the machine and options as to including in the machsim files or Mastercam part file. Chazzs' comment should get you on track though.

    if your reseller doesn't have all these already you need to find a new reseller lol.
    still, it's interesting to see done. it's too bad mastercam can't do actual gcode verification because this is way less of a clusterfart than setting up vericut is.

    • @CamInstructor
      @CamInstructor  4 года назад +1

      They may have your machine/rotary combo, they may not. They could absolutely build it for you if needed. At least with this info you can modify on your own if what you get is not exactly what you need...besides...I guarantee they don't have the LegoMan Machine Simulator! 😂That one is 100% DIY
      Gcode sim...if the post is tied into MachSim, it can be very close to simulating gcode.
