There weren't really a lot expectations for this group, because a lot of people hated the survival show they came from and a lot of people's faves did not make it, they also had a member named, Youngseo who was one of the most popular members left the group on her own without clear explanation of the reason why. So, a lot people didn't have good expectations for their debut, until they heard the teasers and thought it might actually be good. Surprisingly, I actually like their dreamcore concept and they definitely are filling in a spot that I don't hear a lot lately especially from HYBE groups.
Same attack on Enhypen, and now look. HYBE is the exception for this stuff I feel. I don't dislike Kep1er, but their label is flopping them hard with quite a lot of talent :(

yup i just found them out today and thought where they come from but damn iroha has my heart and mind and wonhee but iroha stole me, i really dont give my heart away easily but gosh these girls are cute
People are way too conspiratorial about RUNext and the hate train for Wonhee was one of the worst I've seen in kpop for a predebut group. She had improved by the finale (especially in Aim High and RUN) but the show was hard to watch if you didn't watch it live (reuploads were removed for copyright infringement) so a lot of people relied on social media for the show. This had clip chimps spamming Wonhee's earliest performances and slowing down only her videos as "proof" of her lip syncing (and claiming she was the only one lip synching and no other trainees were). One of the favored trainees yelled at Wonhee in frustration an episode or two before she was eliminated so Wonhee was blamed for her elimination (even though that trainee's mother put out a statement saying that trainee did not want them to hate her friend). Then a rumor got started that she was a nepo baby but it turned out her only "famous" relative was a cousin who was on a reality dating show. People claiming Wonhee was favored in the editing probably didn't watch the show either because they constantly spammed her mistakes and put cartoon sounds over her practicing, which made her more of a joke than the favored trainee. Either way, the hate was so bad that there were months of death threats and just mass hatred during their lives.
Now people are changing their tune - and I'm glad - but I watched the hive mind create mass hysteria and hatred from basically nothing. She was a new trainee (only a month of training before the show) who you could see working hard every episode - if you actually watched it and paid attention. I will NEVER trust the internet about a group anymore because if I hadn't been watching the show myself, I would have absolutely believed all the lies that were being spread.
I legit have seen people say “WonHee should khs”. Wtf…that’s messed up

Sadly, it's toned down but hasn't stopped. I see people spamming "is Wonhee acoustic," under their official tiktok account all the time :(. Sometimes, it'll even have likes in the hundreds. Hopefully, she has a good community and friends around her.
They‘re Enhypens sister group!! Since they‘re both under Be:Lift lab and they also have a comic/Storyline.. Newjeans does not have a fairytale storyline !!
I’m so excited to see how they’re story connects to Enhypens or if they‘re even connected story wise

Other group have done this fairytale concept and you could see that if you just looked. ILLIT is a girl group which is composed of 5 members :
Wonhee (Korean. She was born in 2007), Minju (Korean. She was born in 2004), Yunah (Korean. She was born in 2004), Iroha (Maknae. Japanese. She was born in 2008) and Moka (Japanese. She was born in 2004).
The girl group was formed through a survival show called "R U Next?" which was a collaboration between JTBC and HYBE.
The group debuted on March 25, 2024 with "SUPER REAL ME" Mini Album.

Watched only first episode and noticed Vincenzo (probably lead producer of ILLIT since he is from Be:Lift Lab) was digging Wonhee's vocals in Dreams come true.

Honestly i wasn't vibing with the group because all the controversy with the program but especially because of how wonhee ended up in the debut lineup like girl was LACKING, but after reviewing the mv and the stage performance I see that she has improved a lot since then.
Anyway congrats ILLIT on debuting 👏🏻✨️
You should go back and rewatch the show because she was amazing in the finale performances of Aim High and RUN. It's just that the show was hard to watch live and social media clip chimps constantly spammed clips of her earliest performances to create that lacking narrative. She was improving the whole show though and you could see her practicing in the background of many scenes because she knew she had a higher barrier to overcome than other trainees.
Pls pls pls don't say Wonhee was lacking, her efforts paid off and that was it. Although it may had seen like others were better, maybe being better at dancing or singing but it doesn't necessarily mean that the participant is suitable to be an idol and plus fans make the dream work. She had potential and now she's making use of it, PERIOD. Don't just go around saying someone is or was lacking without taking everything and circumstance into consideration, that is RUDE!
@@DRAMAS4U-kj2ugFully agreed. Wonhee was actually my favorite from the first episode when they performed Dreams come true in a unit. Her vocals were most balanced and the way how young she looks she brings out her A game with a mature sound. You could tell from Vincenzo's (which I think is the lead producer of ILLIT) expressions he was digging her vocals.
What became her downfall was dance performance and expressions. Choreographer thought she lacked dance performance. It was quite harsh judge so she fell to middle level. Better vocals than the others but weaker performance and confidence.
