Most People Go to Hell - Tim Conway

  • Tim Conway preaches a sermon on Matthew 7 and on the narrow way which leads to life that few people find. This was at the 2010 Youth Camp in San Antonio, Texas. The truths in Matthew 7 and Luke 13:24 are shocking to most modern day Christians and are unheard of to be preached, but they still stand as true and man must examine himself by such truths.

Those who laugh and prod at the message, I pity you. Those you have known who have passed on are screaming at you from the other side. They only thing they want more than to warn you is to get out and get another chance for themselves. I pray that God will have mercy upon your souls, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

If you think that people retain their ability to Love another even as they are separated from God's Spirit, you have a confused idea of Love and God's Spirit. How on earth could someone separated from God's Spirit attain such a Christ-like selfless posture that you have described? How could they ignore their own suffering (for a moment) and hope for the betterment of another unless God was present helping them? You are confused and should not speak on this matter.

And yes I have read Luke 16, it is a very difficult parable for any system of Theology to square with. But it is taking place before the last judgement and as a parable I do not think it is meant to describe in a literal state how the afterlife works.

Please pray for me. I deliberately rejected Christ for so long, almost a year. I was a professing Christian, and I walked away with the intention to get saved later, and to just enjoy sin for a little while. I was an apostate and now I am scared I might commit the unforgivable sin. My issue is that I don't want to surrender my sin. I know I can't do it without God but I dont want God. I wish I wanted God, but I'm not sure if that feeling is genuine or not. I still love sin and I wish I didnt love my sin, I'm not sure if this feeling is sincere or genuine. I've been praying for God to make me hate my sin, but I'm not sure if those prayers are sincere or genuine. Please pray that my desire for salvation becomes genuine and sincere and that God saves me.

Listen, a lot of these guys here a bozos. If you think you’re saved then you’re saved. I don’t mean you can just think it but the fact that you’re concerned about it means you’re taking it seriously, which is all any of us can do. Don’t sweat it.
Romans 10:9 is all you have to do.
Ephesians 2:8-9 is pretty explicit that God’s doing the heavy lifting here, not us.
Hebrews 7:25 shows that God cuts us some slack.
If want something longer to take your mind off of it Romans 7 and 8 are good since Paul was having the same issue you’re having here.

Hey friend, any update? It has been 5 months. If you are still struggling with this, remember that salvation is a gift of God. Your only way to being declared innocent of your sins is not through your own pious works, but through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who was God on earth. A sincere faith is a gift of the LORD. A sincere repentance, hate for sin, and love for God's righteousness is a gift of the LORD. Rely on Him alone for all things. Jesus came to give grace to sinners and rescue those the Father gave him. His grace is free, but it was not cheap. We cannot earn the Father's forgiveness. Rely on Him alone.

Guess what! Satan wants you to love your sin! You are doing him a great favor to keep loving it but DON'T allow him to have the victory....hell is for a long, long time. Ask God to grant you the desire to hate the sin. Read Phillippians 2 13 and ask God to make this happen in your life. If you try to overcome the sin in your own power, YOU CAN'T...Romans 8 6-7. It won't be easy but heaven if for real and you want your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Honor God and He will honor you. Memorize scripture and keep your mind filled with it. Hold on to God with desperation. Pray for Holy Spirit to begin convicting you of sin, righteousness and judgment...John 16 8. Keep in the front of your mind that you will one stand before Jesus to be judged. It will be terrifying if you continue as you are....think about that daily. If that isn't a catalyst for change, I don't know what would be. I will be praying for you because I want to see you in heaven. ..and so does the Heavenly Father.

Jesus said along the lines of, if your hand causes you to sin then to cut it off, as it's better for you to come into heaven with no limbs then to keep giving into sin, that's how serious he was about it. Today we live in a world full of addictions, demons and normalization of sin. It's the opposite of the msg that was spreading 2000 years ago. We should be getting back into that mindset which Christ is able to do, set our paths straight through the work of the Holy Spirit.

It is certainly true that in most churches you have believers and unbelievers. It's also true that some believers might fall away, and some formally unbelievers have repented and been saved. I don't think it's a good idea to say to a Christian congregation that most of them will go to hell. Congregations, though, should always be reminded that all people are sinners and look to Jesus as their Savior and their righteousness, because human righteousness will never save anyone. People don't go to hell for sin, they go because of unbelief, that is because they do not put their faith on Christ alone.

Andrea Yates heard a similar message before she drowned her children. I know the gate to heaven is narrow but I am a liar if I ever say I had an argument against her actions if eternal torment is the true fate of most of humanity. Solomon looked at the suffering of the world and said "I envy the dead who are already dead but greater than either of these I envy the unborn they will never see the evil under the sun" what if you applied his view to heavens narrow gate? If God destroys the soul after a time of judgement then in the end all tears are wiped away and all that is left is in fact love. If eternal torment is true, and we as believers are obligated to believe this the majority of neighbors we are commanded to love as ourselves will have fates worse than death and the devils actions give him eternal knowledge a utilitarian victory. I don't know what it means to love your famiky member precieve they reject christ and burn forever consciously while still feeling joy, I dont understand because the scripture gives me know example if how to do this. Convinced there’s a hell? Take a look at these verses showing *the unsaved will perish:* they’ll be destroyed and not “be” anymore:
    ■ “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
    ■ “For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.” (Psalm 37:10)
    ■ “When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever” (Psalms 92:7)
    ■ “As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation” (Proverbs 10:25).
    ■ “Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth, That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment? Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds; Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?” (Job 20:4-7).
    ■ “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23)
    ■ “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
There’s nothing in those verses about eternal life in torment.
So on one hand we have verses showing the unsaved perish: after destruction they will not “be.” But on the other hand we have Bible translations with verses about hell and everlasting punishment.
What’s going on? Long, long ago the pagan doctines of immortal soul and eternal torment in hell crept into church doctrine. Translators from those churches then wrote “hell” into the Bible by mis-translating several Greek words. For example:
    ■ “And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire” (Mark 9:47, KJV)
“Hell” in that verse is from the Greek word γεέννῃ or “gehenna,” the dump outside Jerusalem. The trash and garbage thrown there was sure to be destroyed by the constant fire -“hell fire”- and worms (maggots) in the dump. Jesus was only saying that just as trash thrown into the dump was sure to be destroyed, the wicked would surely be destroyed. They would perish and never again “be” as we saw earlier.
Here’s another verse where “hell” is from the Greek word γεέννῃ or “gehenna”:
    ■ “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28)
Wait a minute . . . how can a soul be destroyed if it’s immortal? Was Jesus wrong? Of course not. In pagan Greek philosophy the soul was an immortal spiritual component of a person that separates from the body at death and keeps on living, forever. But in the Bible, “soul” refers to a person, to the self, the life -not to some sort of immortal component. For example:
    ■ “And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.” (Acts 27:37)
    ■ “The soul that sinneth, it shall die . . .” (Ezeliel 18:20).
Compare that to the “soul” according to pagan Greek religion:
_“Do we believe that there is such a thing as death? And is this anything but the separation of soul and body? And being dead is the attainment of this separation; when the soul exists in herself, and is parted from the body and the body is parted from the soul . . . beyond question the soul is immortal and imperishable, and our souls will truly exist in another world!” _ (Plato, in _Phaedo,_ about 360 BC)
What you just read sounds just like what you’ll hear in most churches today. Can you now see what has happened? Over the centuries pagan Greek religion has crept into church doctrine!
Along with the immortal soul came hell, as a necessary explanation for where the unsaved immortal soul spends eternity!
And what happens now, today, when people see “hell” in their translation of the Bible? They naturally conclude “Oh, so we must have immortal souls” -and the pagan doctrines live on.
The “immortal soul” has roots in Satan’s original lie:
    ■ “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die” (Genesis 3:4)
Did you know some later translators recognized the error of “hell” in Bible translations? Young’s Literal Translation (YLT), for example, never uses “hell.”
In the King james Version, New Testament, “hell” appears 23 times -in every case mistranslated from one of three Greek words like γεέννῃ (“gehenna”).
Salvation is NOT about “where you’ll spend eternity”: that’s a false paradigm based on the pagan immortal soul doctrine. Truth is, *you won’t even **_have_** an eternity unless you receive from God the gift of eternal life!* Otherwise you’ll perish and no longer “be” as we saw earlier.
So, what really happens to the unsaved? How do they perish? The apostle Paul wrote:
    ■ “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23)
After resurrection and judgment the unsaved die again. It’s called “the second death” in the Bible, in Revelation 2:11, 20:6, 20:14 and 21:8. After the second death there is no life and no hope of resurrection. It’s the end of that person; they will never again “be.” That’s what it means to *_perish._*
This second death is the “everlasting punishment” Jesus spoke of in Matthew 25:46:
    ■ “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”(Matthew 25:46)
The punishment -the second death- is everlasting in this respect: it is finished, permanent and irrevocable, like the execution of a criminal. It is not perpetual, ongoing punishing.
You didn’t *_really_* think the God of mercy would be a sadistic monster, endlessly subjecting the unsaved to hopeless torment, did you?

Jesus says FOUR times in John 3 that those who believe in Him will not perish but have eternal life. You gonna believe Jesus, or some church doctrine? Satan LOVES religion.

It made me start questioning my life..because I was sad I could not say "YES I KNOW SHE WENT HOME TO BE WITH JESUS" she was very pretty blond hair blue eyes but no one could say that she was at peace with God when she died she lived in the world with parties/drinking like most college kids.

Very true video, I was there once and Jesus was the last thing on my mind, It was all about the fun I wanted to have, parties, clubs, women, tobacco and alchohol. But one day, I was delievered by the Jesus. Sometimes the enemy puts some thoughts in my head by I rebuke it in Jesus name so that I don't meditate on the thoughts. Satan is very crafty, that is why we must be on our guards with the Word of God and prayer daily. Jesus is real, I saw Him in my dreams several times concerning end times.

@dierrassistische That is why God came down to save us because we cant save ourselves we need Jesus. The old testament law pointed out how much we need him. There was only one Man who kept the entire law and that is Jesus. So Jesus did all the necessary work for you to be saved all you have to do is declare with you mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Then you become part of God's family!

Hell is most definitely real. True Christians know that the Bible is fact. Atheists may never understand until it's too late but it is normal for a believer to have experienced and have proof of God's presence (without having to come face to face with God himself). It's not just a matter of whether or not to believe some book. It's knowing the Bible is true and fact not only by faith but through experience.

@nocturne1980 The laws function is to show our sin. If any of these modern day pharisees wanna play the law game than we can play that game. Anything not done in faith is sin. Its not just what you do its what you dont do. If you dont love God with all your heart and mind its sin. If you fail to love your neighbor as you love yourself its also sin. That is why the apostle Paul calls the ten commandments the "ministry of death."

@MsGM~ By Faith Amen. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Many who claim to have faith in Christ will not be saved, it's not by the words but by the spirit. We must bear spiritual fruit (Joh 15:2) Fruit is love, peace, kindness, etc... "Many will say to me... ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, in your name drive out demons, etc... Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you." Mat 7. Many will fall from Grace. We must always strive for spiritual perfection

Imagine you're Jesus for a moment. You, the creator of the universe, came to earth as a man, lived a perfect life and suddenly, you're laying across large stone as your back is literally being opened up and then you are crucified until you are dead. God did that. Now that's a love no one deserves friend!

    Q. Is it our Knowledge of God/or even understanding our own Sin that saves us? A. No. Look to Christ for your perfection. The Gospel is easy enough for a child to understand. It's NOT YOU, it's what HE did for You that will save you from mashing teeth

Uhhh...No. Few find that gate at a given time, but the Bible says plainly that everyone finds the gate by becoming born again. When people miss the gate and take the path that leads to destruction, they are born again and again and eventually they find Christ. This is what the Bible plainly says. If you don't believe this doctrine of the traditional church, then you are not a Christian. You're actually a Pelagian, which is a different religion.

When you were in sin no matter what you did good or bad you were still on your way to hell right? Well when your saved its the same way no matter what you do your still going to Heaven because of Jesus perfect sacrifice. Im not telling you to go sin if you truly believe you will bear good fruit.

  • @simplythebest444
    @simplythebest444 14 лет назад

@nocturne1980 But you have to understand Jesus was speaking with the children of Israel who were still under the law and some of what Jesus said was still o.t. law. He was showing them where they missed it and preparing them for new and far better covenant we have in His blood. John 6:29 "Jesus replied, this is the work that God asks of you: that you believe in the One Whom He has sent." You see that is what it means to mix faith and works ;-)

    @Refutingnonsense,
John 3:5-7 explain that people are reborn in the spirit and that hell is for the "flesh", or the person who degrades the soul for the pleasure of the body. Once one is born again in spirit, which is independent of the body, he goes to heaven.
If the view that everyone born in spirit finds the gate is called universalism, then universalism is the Biblical doctrine.

@simplythebest444 Actually, I think that last one is a huge mistake. We cannot simply choose our convictions. They're the sum of a lifetime of experiences, choices, and thoughts. Denying that, and simply choosing to "believe" like it was a new haircut, that would simply be dishonest. Even if I wanted to, I could not simply start to believe in god, because all my experience tells me that there is no such entity.

Your experience? Well, forget your experience for now. It means nothing when your eternity is in question. Jesus Christ created you, whether you believe that or not. He created a book that holds all of the answers we’ll ever need to live this life and to be saved. Jesus Christ came into this world, lived a perfect life and died the horrible death of the cross to save us from burning in hell forever. That’s why He did that. So, for all of you who have the nerve to deny Him in any capacity, you will freely walk yourselves right through the gates of hell. Sad.

You are misunderstanding the No True Scotsman fallacy which is no surprise since most Atheist cling to it without much thought. Being a Scotsman requires certain qualifications. If you don't qualify as a Scotsman, claiming to be one means nothing. @jesse3398 That's not even a cogent argument. Moreover, the Koiné term "euangelion" most certainly existed and was used before Christ, simply meaning any sort of "good news". Don't make claims like that that you cannot support, especially if you're arguing with a linguist.

    @TheFlanker35 14 лет назад

The Bible and Jonathan Edwards taught that hell exists for the glory of God. @4:24, Conway denies this and asserts that people don't glorify God in hell. The Biblical God doesn't offer everyone a way out of sin and hell. Divine election is needed for faith and to be born again so ultimately you're born again when God so wills it. The old you is eternally damned or destroyed but the new you with the soul is saved once it believes.

@MediaMinistrySA Yes, but we shouldn't look at Jesus' obedience (Sinless) as something attainable in our lifetimes. Yes, we should strive for it... But was Mother Theresa sinless? Were any Popes sinless? ...But Jesus was! Never once sinning- like a baby that has never harmed anyone- a perfect sacrifice. In Him- we are Free from Sin. It's all about HIM- not about us... our righteousness is but filthy rags to God! Thanks for the reply, Peace!

@nocturne1980 The laws heavy demands will bring you to your knees. That is why Jesus came down and fulfilled the laws demands and died in our place. If you declare with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved. That is the Gospel. You cant mix law and grace. Dont listen to these "ill be honest" guys instead try listening to Joseph Prince. God has given him great revelation in the area of grace. May Jesus bless you

@MrOverdoser My friend, 1st of all, Jesus is the Son of God meaning GOD THE SON --> 2nd Person of the Trinity --> 1 God=3 Persons=1God. That fact never ceased to be when THE SON became the Man Jesus & He NEVER went to Hell for 3 days.
2nd: There is NO WAY you could possibly have ANY frame of reference as to what Hell is like experiencially. I was in the Marine Corps and based on the description of Hell the bible gives, I wouldn't last 1 second. Now try an ETERNITY of that! (please don't)

@crucifyme88 If you are a true Christian you won't go to hell, but the MANY false converts will find destruction.

@dzdist And God reaps a huge reward from coming down here and purchasing our freedom from sin. God reaped many sons and daughters from sacrificing His only begotten Son! Adam and Eve were never were given the authority that the redeemed are given. Trust me this deal is just too good to pass up. Trusting in Jesus you not only inherit heaven but you get life more abundantly. Its awesome!!! Jesus was an overpayment for our sin but if you dont want Him its your choice to make.

@TheFlanker35 John3:5-7 explains that one MUST be born again in order to enter the Kingdom of God. John 3:8 explains how being born again works, its like the wind that blows WHERE IT WISHES. John 3:5-7 does not mention anything about hell, and it does not mention anything about everyone being born again eventually. Most people will never be born again and because of this they will be spiritually dead and will go to hell forever. This is what Pastor Conway was trying to express.

I've always wondered what would a battle in heaven even look like. I mean they can't really hurt you or kill you. What's the point. You could use a magical god sword but that's about it. There would be no tanks or jets or bombs. Boring!

@simplythebest444 Because he was a psychopathic, destructive personality with a huuuge ego, no tolerance for differing opinions, who had a vast problem with his past as a pharisee?

Seems to me Tim spends a lot more time pointing to hell than to Christ. Just saying, I like his stuff but come on...

  • @MrOverdoser
    @MrOverdoser 14 лет назад

This title is misleading, and disturbing... Most People will think Tim's talking about them- the believers. But I believe most Believers Go to Heaven! In fact- ALL believers will go to Heaven! The Fear mongering of some churches blows me away- Where's the Gospel in this video? Where's the Love of Jesus for all?
Tim Conway says "Some of you that hear my voice will indeed, I have no doubt, weep in that place" (of destruction and gnashing of teeth)
Why harp on the believers? Love Draws us to God

@dierrassistische I could create a new religion right here right now. Would it have any validity to it if i did??? NO it wouldnt. If your looking for the Truth His name is Jesus. All of the worlds religions have one thing in common do good inherit eternal life and do bad and you go to hell. But we trust in Jesus perfect sacrifice on the cross. No matter how good you are you will fall short of God's standard of absolute perfection.

@dzdist I say this in love....YOUR WRONG and you need to change your mind (repent). Your sending many to hell that have never confessed Jesus as Lord and I'm warning you that this is a BAD idea. You will reap what you sow and you dont want to reap the harvest of being part of sending others to hell. But that being said I dont like these "I'll be honest" guys either they're like you in the opposite direction. They try to add the work of repenting of your sins to God's grace.
