- Skarsgård stars as "Boy" who vows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy (Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left the boy orphaned, deaf and voiceless. Driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman (Ruhian) to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents. Bedlam ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem, inciting a wrath of carnage and blood-letting. As he tries to get his bearings in this delirious realm, Boy soon falls in with a desperate resistance group, all the while bickering with the apparent ghost of his rebellious little sister.

He's been doing it like this for the past 3 or so years. This man's been everywhere. I think hemlock Grove got him a decent following but IT is what brought him into the mainstream light. I liked him alot in Castle Rock and it's what made me a life long fan.
I'm sure he woulda been successful no matter what given who is family is.

This is the type of movie I am willing to pay to watch in a cinema, you see Hollywood, it's not difficult, give us what we want, an action movie with a guy who kick ass and takes names, that's it and we will give you our money, it is a F#$% simple formula to follow. I am totally watching this.

i got to see this movie early with some friends last night, and god DAMN what a great ride that was! the only thing ill say about this film without spoiling anything is that you won't go 10 minutes without seeing violence of any kind. like, this movie is BRUTAL when it comes to its action scenes. and to top it off, it's got a good story too! you won't forget it!!
