This video is kind of a bluff, I actually used a Line 6 POD HD500X to record all of the guitar stuff with minimal filtering eq in post (high and low pass with a very slight cut around 1k Hz for rhythm, slight 7k boost for leads). The mastering step also altered the guitar tone a little bit.

Hey Ruby, it's all in the practicing, you gotta go slow and then speed up over time, it's helped me with many a solo and i still need to learn Die, that solo is nuts but luckily my guitar which i named Crescent Rose is suited for the job

How long did it take you to learn the solo? Cause I'm trying to learn it but it seems impossible
I think this song is about 170 BPM, so start learning the solo at 100 BPM or less, and slowly work your way up, I'm sure that's what you're doing but if you're not that's a good way to learn things

Spectacular.
I can attest to being self taught. I've only played for about 4 or 5 months, and can play megalovania, skyrim theme, half of Twilight princesses sound track, and such. all it takes is commitment, and dealing with finger pain starting out.
I have been learning guitar for almost an year by myself. I know open chords, barre chords and a few scales. So I want your advice on what to do next to play all over the fretboard cause I have no idea what to do next and that solo was unreasonably good.
Hot diggity damn, that was tasty as fuck. You also have some pretty sweet gear which, not gunna lie, I'm pretty jealous of :P

I like that in the beginning of the original song you just hear it in your left ear,and in this one it starts with only hearing it in your right.

+blake whitaker I am actually mostly self taught! I took lessons for classical guitar when I was 11 years old for about 6 months before I quit and decided to teach myself electric, and I am now 22 years old. As for learning, it all depends on how much time and effort you put into it.

I find people who self teach themselves always turn out to be better than the ones that get taught because well... your literally teaching yourself the way you want and the pace you feel comfortable.

It's not the easiest thing, but once you get past that learning curve it just kinda flows and it becomes easier
