Good information. One question... I've seen some QR codes with a small image or logo in the center. Will LB do this as well?

Not to my knowledge but there's a myriad of services online that will let you generate qr codes with those effects and export them as SVG's, easy to import and mark as well.

Honda was first ever to create barcodes to help keep track of their inventory. Who would of thought it would be universally used.

    Good video, thanks
I always have trouble engraving a QR code on wood, any tips?

Wood is highly susceptible to burning. When it burns, your nice clean lines burn outward in all directions causing a "bleeding" mark. The goal would be to try to mitigate burning as much as possible. Use a wood that marks with nice contract without burning like Alder or Cherry for the easiest results. If you can't choose the wood then go for depth over burn. Significant depth will create qr readable shadows inside the marks without actually setting the wood on fire for the char effect - resulting in cleaner more scan-friendly engravings.

Lightburn treats it as a vector shape, so you'll want to double check the layer its on. If its set to line instead of fill, that may be why. We also use the "filled rendering" option under lightburn settings, which shows the filled layers as solid colors instead of outlines as well. Hope that helps!

Hi Guys, you seem to have experience with lasering QRs. Any Idea how to get black engraving on zinc alloy?

I noticed your filled items actually show as filled on your Lightburn screen. I don't see it that way until I show the preview. Is there a setting I should know about?

In lightburn settings you can select the slider for displaying filled objects that way. By default it is off to help reduce system resources needed, but we find it super helpful! If you opt to try it and if it gives you issues, you can always disable it if needed.

THANK YOU! Guess I really should explore the settings more, and experiment. Thanks for all that you do.

Glad you enjoyed! Haven’t tried 2 phone numbers, but you could try the note field for the secondary number maybe

I tried that but nothing appeared on my iPhone. The filed stayed blank

The barcodes would be pretty similar. For QR codes, the you'd have to either create them using an online generator and then import them to another software (like lightburn, or a design software like illustrator) so they can be exported as vector shapes. The steps for adjusting to vector shapes and exporting are covered in our art prep guides if needed. Then you could simply import that saved vector, hatch, and engrave it per usual.
