    When you cut the pockets for the flush hardware are you accounting for paint thickness or does finisher mask off.
    Also, does your Mt Copland series cover veneering and substrates?

    • @kendecost
      @kendecost 3 года назад +1

      We are. The finisher does not mask off. The handles are removed prior to finish. Because that is now an open and porous area, we want it to be sealed well.
      We have not yet covered veneering in the MT Copland courses.

    We have a couple of cabinet builders that we work with as a sub, how do we have a conversation with them to create a standard where they grain match the doors and drawers in the white oak cabinet fronts? Is that something that you find that cabinet makers will be willing to try, or is it futile at this point?

      Really depends of the shop. Some just want to run and gun, slapping pieces together. Others are total craftsman and will does this regardless. Then there are those in the middle who would love to do it but maybe don't have the clientele to support it at the moment. I would have an open chat with them about it. Let them know what you're looking for and provide example photos. You'll need to go into it with the understand that it may take longer and cost a little more. If they're not open to the idea or challenge, then find another shop.

    I remembered on one episode you talked about, or maybe it was Nick on site visit, a dishwasher that wasn't a standard size. How do you factor in the eventual changing out of the dishwasher.

    • @kendecost
      @kendecost 3 года назад +1

      They will need to find a dishwasher that fits into that opening or we will need really modify the cabinetry. I believe I recall the one you're referring to. It was an 18" dishwasher rather than the standard 24". There are options out there for other 18" models, but you'd be a bit more limited.

    Thanks again for a great video. These are some of the same issues I had when I ordered some paper backed veneers. Hopefully it gets resolved.
    I want to find a good (preferably with an online presence) supplier for paperbacked where I dont have these issues/miscommunications.

    Are the Friday Live available to view somewhere? Or can they only be watched live?
    Also, I'm curious what you've seen regarding wood prices. I know framing lumber has increased a ton. Could you talk about what has and hasn't gone up in price? I.e., mdf, plywood, veneer, hardwood, etc.

      As of now the Live Q&As happen on Ken Decost's Instagram. Link to that in description. We can cover that question

      We're still toying with what's best for the lives. Keep it exclusive to live audience? Post it? Add it into these RUclips episodes? There are one or two on my IG page but I had some tech issues and didn't end up saving them all. We will trying new things until we find something that sticks. Lumber pricing is something we discussed on one of the lives. Ill be sure to find it and / or add it into these episodes.
