- 19 year old singer/songwriter Jazmine Sullivan performs "What's Going On?" at open mic night at Ashford & Simpson's spot in NYC -The Sugarbar. One half of Ashford & Simpson, Valerie Simpson, is on background vocals and she is the lady at the end of the video who congratulates Jazmine on a performance well done.

wow she is amazing and it's funny how i came across her last year and said damn she's tight but in the back of my mind thought she'll never make it because of the odds and it show's you how talent is talent. She has inspired me to keep it going because i know the thought of "What If" can literally kill dreams. i wish i could work with her as far as singing and piano and production, i'm networking now with some of Bobby Valentino people and my main producer is working with Tupac's old manager so.

She is a beast man, I havent come across no one this good in a while...since Karen Clark Sheard basically. I sing myself and I give her props.I know a few people that have lost in competitions againts her and also admit she is awesome. Kim burrell, is nice, but I follow gospel and she wasnt the hottest thing..for the comments made...but at the same time I knew of kim before Jazmine but would buy Jazmine album before Kims right now....That appollo performance was the best too

Please believe that Kim is one of my favorite but when you have an eclectic love of music there are different types of greats.But Jazmine and Kim are in the same genre. I don't think that Kim would be able to punk Jazmine but they are incomparable to each other especially since Kim's passion is Jesus Christ and Jazmine passion is just the love of music~the kind of love that you just close your eyes and sing your heart out.

oh why sure you can..cause when i finally did perform i scatted the whole way to home base..lmao.but its easy..you just gotta go with the flow..practice i think is where singers dancers anyone messes up..i mean you should practice to a certain extent..but when you try to pratice notes, runs and every thing your over doing it..i used to practice too much and when i just started to go with the flow i think personally i sounded better,
