Before you first run and start the bikes ,pull tie the clutch levers back so the new heat cycle and warm oil can get into those clutch plates and free them up if they are stuck and froze together from sitting ,as a veteran after years doing what your are doing ,I have found out a lot of the bikes I bought back the clutches released themselves doing so ,saving you a new clutch plate kits and labor to replace them,a little trans fluid also helps in the gear boxes to free them plates up ,and then drain again and add fresh gear oil to the gearboxes,,the trans fluid really cleans the gearboxes up very well without messing with old clutch plates and poluting them causing them to slip,as automatic transmissions have clutch plates in them also, and the fluid is a great cleaner with its high viscosity, when you re-drain pulling all the junk out with it

19:00 you should get a pair of vampire pliers for screws like that they are life savers
Did Vinnie give it his approval when you brought it home? lol shocked me when started on second kick though cant wait to see follow up video
I think you had worst. Great content. Thanks to you I have rebuilt two bikes and a quad.
Hey Joe watch out for Alvin Simon and Theodore in the air box ! 😂😂😂😂😂
2V, so far so good! Looks like you have another winner in the plus column!
Get a can of Berryman’s carb cleaner from autozone. It’s in what looks like a paint can. I use it all the time & works pretty good then I hose it down with carb cleaner.
It's amazing. I have learned so much from your vids. Thanks.
Great to see it started up so easily after the carb clean up, but more work to do.
i love that the seller just said "i dont know" instead of spinning some elaborate story like they always do to me LOL
Just needs a carb clean, Joe.
2002 sure !!! Do you have a borescope ? I'd be interesting to see the piston and all at first inspection . Nice vid 👍
That was that dark blue white fenders bike, the 250 of that year made one of the greatest enduro bikes of the decade, but very mellow mx bike. Since the start of the video when you said 02 I thought didn't they all follow Honda and switch to alu frames by the end of the 90s, how come this is steel? But couldn't remember the years they switched.
That clay came from the safe off the titanic😂😂😂
Before you first run and start the bikes ,pull tie the clutch levers back so the new heat cycle and warm oil can get into those clutch plates and free them up if they are stuck and froze together from sitting ,as a veteran after years doing what your are doing ,I have found out a lot of the bikes I bought back the clutches released themselves doing so ,saving you a new clutch plate kits and labor to replace them,a little trans fluid also helps in the gear boxes to free them plates up ,and then drain again and add fresh gear oil to the gearboxes,,the trans fluid really cleans the gearboxes up very well without messing with old clutch plates and poluting them causing them to slip,as automatic transmissions have clutch plates in them also, and the fluid is a great cleaner with its high viscosity, when you re-drain pulling all the junk out with it
You need a test kit to take with you. > Hydrometer for working out if there's coolant. > compression tester , 3> portable bore scope. , battery tester
Glad to see one work out not to bad.
Great video, love the channel. What is that bike stand you use?
That was an ice race bike at some point, and apparently the seller found it in the lake when fishing. You did him a favor giving $600 for it.😆
Tapping the top of the master cylinder with a screwdriver or rubber mallett unseizes pistons usually for me
Great video again Joe keep doing what you do man be careful and ride safe😮😊
He sunk that thing in the lake for a couple days: I would bet money on it. Good job getting it running that is a miracle.
Might as well buy linkage bearings too. I got a whole brake assembly off ebay for a bike before seemed like the way to go if you can afford it. I bet the spokes are loose too
It ran perfectly fine when i parked it...😮😂
...in the lake.
@@MrTruckerf 😆
For stripped screws try a pair of Vampliers. They are pliers that do not lock but will remove stripped screws with ease.
