    Frederik Thordendal is the lead guitarist and inventor of the “djent” sound. Martin Hagstrom is the Rhythm guitarist. so yep two guitarists

      Saying he's the inventor of Djent is just wrong.

      @@atthecore4560 Fredrik literally invented the term itself in the late 90s. Though it was just meant to describe chunking 4 string power chords. It got turned into 8 string 'boing boing' in the late 00s because of Periphery making a 'Got Djent?' shirt, and Jens wore one, but by that time Meshuggah and these other bands that were following in their footsteps were playing 8 strings. So people started called 8 string playing 'djent', which is pretty silly considering what the term originally meant.

      @@Salomon_G You're not wrong.
      The term 'Djent' was coined by Fred, but the term had absolutely no traction until Misha from Periphery propped it like a hot meme.
      I'll always be one of those guys who knows that Djent isn't a genre of music, but rather, a stylism that can apply itself to all forms of music. The bands who influenced and defined it's range and sense the most are;
      Meshuggah
      Dream Theater(Yes. Them.)
      Deftones
      Fear Factory
      And last, but certainly not last...
      Devin Townsend, aka, Strapping Young Lad.
      All these guys helped to influence the style of Djent in modern music on one level or another.
      Every musician who invests themselves with the Djent style in their playing was inspired by, at the very least, two of those five bands.
      That's my perspective. What do you think of that?
      Otherwise, if you think I'm an idiot with an idiot view on the top, by all means, tell me how I'm wrong ;)

    This is definatly one of their most accessible songs (togheter with Do Not Look Down). If you want to see what Meshuggah really is all about i can recommend the craziness that is Clockworks, Strings Pulled at Random or Marrow for example

    Meshuggah is one of my favorite bands of all time. One of the main bands to get me into the heavier side of metal. They started off as more of a thrash band but started evolving that sound fairly quickly. There are still some thrashier riffs sprinkled through albums though. A great album to start out with is Nothing.
