Hi, I’m getting into coffee a little, I have the wacaco picopresso and purchased the timemore slim plus!! First time I used the grinder I got a good espresso with good crema but I can’t seem to get it again , does anyone have a good starting point and settings for me?? Thanks , I’m new to this!! I have it with the e & b burrs!
Hello! Can you confirm that the diameter of this grinder is about 45mm and it should fit inside the plunger from the Aeropress, which is about 50mm wide?
will it work if I make coffee under a turk, or would it be better, for example, omnicup? choose from budget, up to 150 bucks. (a turk is such a metallic ladle in which we brew coffee in the Russian Federation)). Thanks)
Not necessarily. What sets them apart is the design. The E&B burrs have no trouble grinding fine or coarse and quite quickly. The taste is about the same.
From other reviewer 1z is better due to smaller step setting & slightly better consistency But at 2 times cost & longer grinding time This upgraded eb chestnut speed is unpararelled lol
Have you guys experienced any looseness/play in the grind adjustment knob on this grinder? When I got to change my grind on my Timemore slim I can get about 1/8th of a turn either way before the adjustment knob actually starts changing the grind setting. Any thoughts on how to remedy this or is it totally normal?
Same here, espiecally annoying when you turn the knob to 0 and start turning, you can feel the burrs grind against each other. I asked timemore they said it’s normal and shouldn’t hurt the burr tho, not sure about that in long term
Thank you for your video. Please will you tell me how much clicks should I use for Espresso or Turkish coffee? And how much Clicks should I use for making AeroPress Coffee? Thank you in advance
We recommend 7 or 8 clicks as a starting point for espresso (but, of course, this will depend on the basket size, dose, etc.). The grind for Turkish coffee should be just a little finer than for espresso, so we would recommend 6 as a starting point. The grind for AeroPress will vary depending on the recipe, but 12 is probably a good starting point.
Are you looking for an upgrade in materials and style or grind quality? The other grinders in the Timemore line have the same burrs as the C2 (unless you get the Plus models or titanium-coated burrs), so grind quality will be about the same. The next step in terms of grind quality is probably the models in the $200-300 ranges, such as the Lido 3, Option-O REMI, and Comandante.
@@readyme I think you could've just changed the burrs for the new one. May I ask, what are you using the slim for and how is it doing? I am considering the slim plus.
@@sebaba001 I just got it today, so only 2 cups of pour over coffee so far. I only used the C2 as I purchased it as a gift for my father...and after trying it I wanted one for myself. I just decided to splurge a little bit.
Good question, Cindy. Timemore's user manual includes a settings guide that we have found to be fairly accurate (as a starting point). The grind size will actually depend on the dose, too. A good starting point for the V60 is probably 15 to 20 clicks from zero for a dose of 20-ish grams. If the coffee tastes sour, go finer; and if it tastes bitter, go coarser. Find what works best for your palate. Let us know what you find so we can share it with others.
I'm new with coffee, so if i want to invest myself with manual espresso machine like flair or maybe moka pot, is this good enough for that ? Or maybe i just buy the general slim one ?
Yes, the Slim Plus models would be perfect for your setup. The original Slim Chestnut model, which comes with titanium-covered stainless steel burrs, can also grind well for espresso and other fine methods; however, the Plus models, because of the E&B (espresso and brewing) burr, can grind well for all methods, including filter.
I also have the same question. While primarily for now I'm gonna use AeroPress but I think the better micro-adjustment of JX Pro is a better investment for me. I will try to use it to make some expresso in the future.
The Timemore C2 comes standard with the regular stainless steel burrs, which do not grind efficiently at espresso settings. The new burrs, called E&B (espresso and brewing), which come standard on all Timemore Plus models, grind efficiently for both espresso and filter without sacrificing quality in either.
Yes. In fact, we made a video showing how to install the E&B burrs in a C2. You can see it here: prima-coffee.com/equipment/timemore/70tac016aa004-timem-sp
Im planning to upgrade my grinder for manual brewing. Considering the price, is the new enb burr worth the investment over the standard c2 burrs/stainless burrs?
Hi Steve, after watching several reviews l am still wondering, in which case should I prefer G1+ over Slim+? Luxury of G1 doesn't impress me, I just want better coffee.
The only difference between the G1 Plus and Slim Plus is in the burr set's coating. The G1 Plus burrs are titanium-coated; the Slim burrs are stainless steel. As such, the G1 Plus burrs will last longer. The performance of both burr sets should be nearly identical.
attention j'ai acheté se moulin il y a 3semaine et il ai tombé au sol 1x coté filetage et il n'ai plus utilisable vraiment dommage pour un moulin avec meule titane mais en aluminium beaucoup trop fragile
Excellent grinder. Very well engineered.
Can you do a video of a cleaning and reassembly of the Slim +. I took it apart and want to make sure I put it back together correctly.

Somewhere around setting 5 is good for espresso.
Well that can’t be right it’s very tight on 6! Too tight tbh!!

Hello! 45mm is the correct diameter for this grinder.

so the E&B burrs create better taste (pour over primarily) than the old stainless ?
Not necessarily. What sets them apart is the design. The E&B burrs have no trouble grinding fine or coarse and quite quickly. The taste is about the same.
which is more ideal, E&B and G1S (titanium) burrs for espresso or turkish coffee??
so I can grind faster and uniformly
tq
Both burrs would provide a fine and uniform grind for espresso or turkish coffee.
if grinding in the same weight, which one is faster??
The E&B will grind faster.
I’m considering this or new 2022 C3 with S2C burs. Any difference between them?
Hello! I was wondering which one would recommend between the timemore slim plus and the 1zpresso Q2?
From other reviewer
1z is better due to smaller step setting & slightly better consistency
But at 2 times cost & longer grinding time

I see. Good luck, seems like a good grinder. I might go for JX Pro or Kinu Phoenix. I need something for my Flair.
How many clicks for a medium dark roast cofffee? (V60 method)

We definitely think so! The E&B burrs preform exceptionally well all the way from a very coarse French Press grind size to espresso fine!
