- Happy Friday, friends! Today's day in the life includes some running around, picking up groceries, and driving kids to their activities. I start off the day by showing our little homestead, picking our asparagus and checking on our backyard chickens. This life I get to live is so special, and raising kids is an important task. My alarm is set for 6:30, but my boys also like to get up at 6:30. So not much “alone time”, but as the kids have gotten older, they’re so independent that I don’t mind 😊

We get horse flies (is that the same?) AND THEY ARE HORRIBLE.
They aren’t the same. We don’t get many horse flies, but I hear they’re awful. Black flies are tiny, and fly in swarms. You don’t feel their bites, and often realize you’ve been bitten because you feel blood trickling 😣 They bite most often behind ears and on your neck.
