People are so asleep to the ways our "leaders" drive us into war and if we could just wake up to their games then we the people could actually stop these wars. Who fights?? At the end when they had the audience on the stage, they were telling us that our generation is next, but we weren't fighting yet. We still have a chance to turn ourselves the fuck around. I am a huge A7X fan, and from listening to all of their songs, I understand what they are saying. They are like a second chance at life, we need to follow them or we all die.
The stage is the title track to their new album. The last track on the album is called exist. It's like a 15 minute epic of the universe. They sampled in Neil DegrasseTyson in the final minutes of the song. I've listened to the album straight thru maybe a dozen times. But The stage and Exist are the perfect bookends to start and end with.
The song is about mankind's journey of bloodlust through the ages. From the first murder in prehistoric times all the way up to war in the modern era. In the song he says "as the boy became a man, in came a calm sophistication I can hardly understand" Here he's saying mankind is becoming advanced at killing. "Who are the ones who peer through the cage, as we perform here upon the stage?" Here he is saying that mankind is essentially on a stage, acting as puppets for entertainment of an unknown group of elites. "When did the walking apes decide that nuclear war was as the only solution for them keeping the score?" Again he is wondering where mankind went wrong. At the end it shows puppets waiting their turn. This is basically saying that our generation will perform on the stage next. And the ones controlling us puppets are our world leaders. If you look closely you see Angela Merkle from Germany, Hillary Clinton, Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un pulling the strings of mankind to create war for their amusement. But the big secret is that they are puppets as well. They are the playthings of death, pulling their strings to spread hate, war, and misery. At the end death pushes "the big red button" which destroys civilization and starts the cycle over again Perhaps as a second chance for mankind to do better next time.

We allow ourselves to be pushed to these extremes by our shit leaders who see none of the actual violence but reap all the benefits.
