Just to clear the confusion: - Next Car Game isn't going to be the actual name. Bugbear are letting the community decide a title on their forums. (So far, "Impact" has been the most popular.) - Mechanical Damage has been disabled during the sneak peek. Engine, Suspension, Steering etc will receive damage in the final game.
Guys, calm down. This looks like a really nice game. Yes, it is similar in ways to BeamNG but isn't it good to have some variety in the genre? And while the physics is weird how you can still drive, it is an arcade racing game. Where would be the fun if you are destroyed within a minute? You wouldn't even get a chance to race. It is an arcadey-for-fun type driving game. Got a problem with it? Don't play it. Get over it.
There's something about this i just don't like. And it's like it's trying to out do BeamNG, even though the only thing this has over Beam, is non-buggy AI (unless they recently updated and fixed that and i didn't know). I'll get back to this in like 3 or 4 months and see where it's at.
interesting concept piece, but the fact that your car can still run when literally cubed kinda takes away the realism. I'll totally retract my disappointment if you can also show a piece showing how specific damage impacts vehicle performance and functionality.
It's like Who's Car Is It Anyway? Where the physics are real, but the damage doesn't matter.
Bugbear have made some of the greatest racing games I've ever played, I love their pursuit to build the perfect physics racer. Can't wait!

Can I just play this?
BeamNG anyone?
BeamNG is a LOT better then this...this isnt even Soft-Body.
JacknifeCreations BeamNG isn't better. It's different, Next Car Game reminds me a lot of the Flatout series but BeamNG is more simulation.
JacknifeCreations Authors say it is simplified soft-body (because of performance issues).
Well the authors are actually wrong, it is NOT Soft-body in the slightest.
licota11 Indeed, different products, both great in their own things.
just awesome.
Awesome physics, terrible name
Ever heard of a placeholder?
I have, and this is not an example of one...
Atwa You've obviously never heard of "Massive Action Game"
R3STRIKT3D You've obviously never heard of any other game/product besides MAG if you think it's a telling example.
PRESS E - NOTHING HAPPENDS!!!!!!!
