When bisecting two points A and B for example, set your compass about or a little less than 2/3 of the total distance between points A and B. Place the needle of the compass on A and swing an arc towards B and then repeat, Using the same compass setting, place your compass needle on B and swing an arc towards A. Make sure both arcs cross each other on the top and on bottom, then you can draw a straight line through the intersections also known as a bisector line.
