LOL, the gates were wayyyyy to heavy. Had to adjust the counterweights to compensate for it. The crossing now has a new GS e-bell, and the gates are up to speed. :D They are Safetran Type S's. I prefer the WABCO Model 75's over all other mechs, as they are the smoothest and most reliable ones out there.
WC Hayes gates are the best ones out there. I have seen a 40" gate on a WC Hayes motor because those are tough, but I haven't seen a 40" on a WABCO, US&S, WRRS, GRS, or Safetran motor.
The bell tone is set on high, it just needs to be turned down to sound like a normal E-bell. It's really simple to do. I don't understand why no one has fixed it yet.
@owensri2 Because Florida East Coast Railway uses WC Hayes everything. They just switched from their mechanical bells to those sour sounding electronic bells. I agree the gate is noisy and heavy but they make their stuff durable. Safetran is good quality railroad equipment. Email them to put their mechanical bell back on the line. lol.
I did not know that GS-1's have a variable rate switch. I have a GS-1. However, I have a difficult time opening the unit. One of the chassis screw is stripped and I do not want to break open the unit.
You mean the Barker Technics E-Bells? I suppose the pitch is similar, however the ring rate is nowhere near as fast as this. I think it kind of sounds like an artificial WRRS Mini Bell the most.
I wonder why csx dumped all of there model 75s for the WC's we used to have a TON of 75s but most of them were replaced with WC Hayes Mechs. Especially if you say 75s are more reliable.
That very high-pitched GS Type 1 E-Bell sounds a whole lot higher in tone & speed than even the high-pitched Siemens E-Bell that's used on the East Side of Antoine St., Vinewood Ave., & Oak St.. 🤔 As you can change the speed & tone on the GS Type 1 E-Bells, I think that someone set this one to the highest speed & tone to sound like that. Set it to a lower speed & tone & it can sound a lot like the GS Type 3 E-Bell that's used at St. Johns St., Vinewood Ave., & on 1 of the Signals at Pennsylvania Rd., plus also on 1 of the Signals at Visger Rd. as well, iirc 🤔, even though that the GS Type 3 has the speed faster, while it's lower in tone & doing so on a GS Type 1 would have the speed slower, but at least in tone to the GS Type 3. I forgot if the GS Type 3 E-Bells are also being used at Emmons Blvd. & IDK yet for King Rd., as Kyle Henry hasn't done a Tour Video at King Rd. yet nor even it activating in action yet. 🤔 I'll have to double check Kyle Henry's Tour Video for Emmons Blvd. to see if those Inner Track Signals are using the GS Type 2 or GS Type 3 E-Bells. 🤔
@BBT609 No, Western Cullen is the worst company out there. Their gates are wayyy to heavy, and the mechanisms are "disposable", haha. They are the only mechanisms i've ever had a problem with. Very noisy, and the dumb cam on the power up contact is loose, and moves slightly, not allowing the gate to stop in the same position every time. I will never use any of their products on my territory. Safetran S-40's only!
A) That is not a type 1 bell. Its a GS Type 2 e-bell and B) There is a switch that you rotate with a screw driver to change the beat. usually train companies leaves it at factory default.
Probably an E-Bell Malfunction, as the pitching is way too high, which causes the speed of the Sound to be way too fast. It's odd though to hear a High-Pitched GS Type 1 E-Bell.
Don't do drugs, kids.
'Less you wanna end up like that E-Bell right there...
Maintenance crew spilled some of his monster energy drink on the bell.
Man those E-bells sounds strange when they mess up!
the gate holder is strange too!
Sounds like an appropriate e-bell for a wigwag, lol

Play at at 0.25 speed and it sound like a train bell
@owensri2 Actually, the BEST gates and gate mechanisms around are Western Cullen. Strong, durable, and they are always up to date on their technology.
WC Hayes gates are the best ones out there. I have seen a 40" gate on a WC Hayes motor because those are tough, but I haven't seen a 40" on a WABCO, US&S, WRRS, GRS, or Safetran motor.

Yep
I would have put a wch Hayes electronic bell or a a safetran type 1
No, nothing was changed with the settings. The month before it was fine.
+owensri2 probably should had replaced the bell then.
+superbnsf1 No need to. Still sounded upon activation of crossing, so it passed the test. No different than a fast mechanical bell.
+owensri2 true
@owensri2 Because Florida East Coast Railway uses WC Hayes everything. They just switched from their mechanical bells to those sour sounding electronic bells. I agree the gate is noisy and heavy but they make their stuff durable. Safetran is good quality railroad equipment. Email them to put their mechanical bell back on the line. lol.
Hmm, different. Sounds like something for a garden railway crossing or the like.
I did not know that GS-1's have a variable rate switch. I have a GS-1. However, I have a difficult time opening the unit. One of the chassis screw is stripped and I do not want to break open the unit.
Is a component in the electronic bell circuit way out of specs?
Or intentional?
Can it be adjusted?
This bell is a masterpiece
Play it at 2x then I will sound like a machine gun
Sounds like an Australian e bell form Australia
You mean the Barker Technics E-Bells? I suppose the pitch is similar, however the ring rate is nowhere near as fast as this. I think it kind of sounds like an artificial WRRS Mini Bell the most.
that's almost like a WRRS mini bell! very close to WRRS mini bells.
barker technics in the U.S. be like:
Should've uploaded it on April 20, then we would known the problem lol.
Nice! They have the speed on this cranked all the way up too.
Where in America is this place? I'm Japanese and used translation.
THAT is how e-bells are supposed to sound!
It sounds too fast
Which City and State is this taken in????????
where is this located?
Cuthbert, GA
Can't say I've ever heard a bell that sounded THAT weird.
Sounds like a DINNER BELL
The fast sounding e bell did
*_that e-bell either sounds like a Safetran Type 1 e-bell, or some kind of mechanical bell_*
It's not weird.. just like bnsf4 said, it needs to be adjusted by locating the chip in the circuit and tuning it with a simple screwdriver.. Done!
and there's a wheelock chime strobe on an elevator! because it was a fire alarm! and the fire alarm is sounding!
at least it's not buzzing
Sounds too fast
bell: SPEEDY SPEED BOI

where are your other videos
that is one very wierd crossing
that's a Euro-styled e-bell! that's SUPER RARE to find in the U.S.!!
and this vid has been added to my playlist"vids of RARE content"
:l
TheInvertedFan no, it's just a malfunction of a General Signal Type 1 ebell. The sound is too high, and it makes that sound
0 : 40 king pigs hi rail semi truck !

I like WCH Mechanical Bells man 😢
@@kplingerTheir bells are better than their gate mechanisms. WCH mechanisms are louder than Safetran.
@@missiondemolition Safetran makes good gate mechanisms whilst WCH makes better bells

2 things; 1, new bell. 2, gate timing off at end.
What the heck? Is that an artificial mini bell?
Why is it ringing super fast?
Most likely someone pried it open and adjusted the speed which also increased the pitch
When the sound data stored in ROM is corrupted, then this happens.
that sounds weird.never heard a bell sound like that.
What in the world why the Bell is ringing so fast like that?🤨
is that an active track
broken circuit board?
overpowered?
part the gate malfunction?
Trying to sound like a WRRS Mini Bell?
Sounds like a high pitched piano lol
Yeah that is wieird for being a E-Bell.
Weird needs an e and the i to be switched and weird needs another i to get rid of
Sounds like a Barker e-bell
It’s that prototype GS type 1F 😂
I think they made the GS E-Bell fast
That is a weird bell
That bell sped up way to fast.
that cant b a "gs type 2" that 1 sounds much different this sounds like water drops lol....
yay I hit the jackpot
Wow
Woah weird.
Why does that bell sound weird?!?
HEY! there's a FIRE LITE BG-12 ON AN ELEVATOR!
Wut de fuke
For me sounds normal
That sounds like a mechanical bell
No! It sounds too fast
WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!
They turned the adjustment all the way up
I don't know they did
If they did, the adjustment will be turn back down and it should sound back
If they didn't do it, then it needs to get fixed
slow gates
awkward
It sounds ajdjusted
Barker Technics Type 1 Except American
blud thinks hes a WRRS mini bell 💀💀💀💀
Never seen a railfanner use slang. Cool!
@@kplinger fr ive lit never seen it
All e bells sound weird!! Go back to mechanical bells somebody can hear!!
Harold Fannin you can actually see a dead mechanical bell across the street.
This bell is unknown
Wat the fuck????
There is a WCH e bell in Franklin MA
Malfunction
Probably an E-Bell Malfunction, as the pitching is way too high, which causes the speed of the Sound to be way too fast.
It's odd though to hear a High-Pitched GS Type 1 E-Bell.
Yes
?????????!!!!!!!
This e bell sounds too fast
WTF THE FU*K
