Not many people realise that drummer Derek Longmuir used the money he made from the band to undergo a revolutionary species change operation in the now defunct Yugoslavia in the early 1980s. After 2 years of hormone treatment he underwent the 20 hour operation to be transformed into a kestrel. After 6 months convalescence he was released into the wild and was regularly seen hovering above the North Yorkshire moors hunting for rodents. Unfortunately the last sighting was in November 1984. Unconfirmed reports suggest he was killed by a stoat.
