Good timing. Your videos go live just as I'm getting up. So I watch while having breakfast and getting ready for work. BTW. I got a game called Circadians First Light. I'm starting to really enjoy it. Seems to tick some boxes. It feels to me like it has a combination of long-term strategizing with more turn by turn tactics as you try to stick to your strategy. And I think I'm finding that I don't mind taking forever between turns to think out my next move.
I have played Fields of Arle several times solo and really like the game, but have yet to play the expansion (which I do own). Thanks for the play through of this one, John, and showing off how the expansion works in the solo game.
Learning, the expansion is not very hard, and it really opens up the game to a tremendous amount of different approaches. I hope you get the opportunity to try it soon. Thank you very much for watching!
I got this a few months ago due to your recommendation, and it's great! Thank you! I'll play it next with the simulated second player. I can't wait till my sons are old enough to play with three players. The most points I've gotten are 91, for whatever reason I keep falling into sheep obsession.
Excellent Game! I think this is far superior to Feast for Odin. FFO is too much “Super Tetris” losing any theme through “shape acquisition for its shape versus function.
I love uwe's games multiplayer, but for solo they are all effectively BYOS, which is too bad. I think this one suffers from lack of variability in setup
I definitely don’t like Uwe games like this because you can literally copy every single action done in this video and achieve the same result. This is such a big negative that’s overlooked. You need some kind of randomness here that’s enough to provide substantial variability. Uwe just throws all these choices at you and it’s up to you to find the most optimum strategy to get the most points. Then once you do that, the game loses its appeal or you can keep trying alternate strategies to see if you can meet or beat that target score. Blech!!! It’s a big solo turn-off for me.
I like sandbox style games like this that give you a target to beat. With the expansion, roughly 1/3 of the buildings are randomly selected each time and I have no problem with the variable setup there. But, to each their own.
I use the three player and have my own system regarding other season actions but essentially I use the other player pieces to block out spaces randomly. It makes it far more realistic

Glad to hear my release schedule is to your liking. I have played Circadians several times solo and it is enjoyable for sure!

Really glad you are enjoying it!
How come in the first action you upgrade 4 spaces?
I probably spent some tea to do it
@@JohnLaRuffa ok, thanks. Never played with the expansion 🙃
Hey, John. Do you have any interest in Planta Nubo?
I plan to get it as soon as I can in the US. Right now, I don’t think it is possible.
Is this game and the expansion a set you have kept?
Yes. I will never part with it!
@@JohnLaRuffa Now I got to work on the wife over another one... :D
@kitcarpo4745 Good Luck! That is the really game we all play!

I love both of them. Solid 10’s in my book especially with the expansions!
