    I carry my Arctic fox 811 on my one ton SRW Silverado. It's got a full bath, north/south queen bed, residential style fridge, oven, four burner stove, and nice big booth dinette. If your spending any serious time in your truck camper these are huge. I tow my ATV to explore further or my fishing boat. I like these and think they did great but just not my style.

    Nice, clean, modern appearance with all the benefits of a hard sided, raising roof camper!
    A refreshing take on the ubiquitous truck camper that has stand out looks and appeal.
    Good to hear of a constructor prioritising light weight in their truck campers, this is frequently ignored whereas it should be prioritised.

    • @robertlynn7332
      @robertlynn7332 2 года назад +1

      @@mackinkorea In all honesty, skin on any camper is probably not "bearproof". If you have a window you can slightly open a bear could pry it open in a second.
      There are campsites in and around Yellowstone National Park (for instance) where you aren't even allowed to camp there without a hard-sided vehicle. For me this is more about access than whether the vehicle will actually survive a bear trying to get in.

    I am planning to purchase a custom camper van when I retire, but this type of rig has a certain appeal too. I've always been a truck guy, having owned several over the years, but there are trade offs with either a truck camper or a camper van. Do you want more interior space or more offroad capability? That is the fundamental question, but the problem is I want both haha.

      Yes it has a sticker shock for sure! There sure are some questions that I would have to ask. One being what happens to the vehicle warranty. Number two is how do you insure something like this. Number three is if there is an accident how do you get it repaired. And number four what is the depreciation going to do if you go to sell it after a few years? I'm pretty sure that my bank would laugh me right out the front door if I wanted to borrow that kind of money for a pickup that now has a built on camper that came from a small company that there's no guarantee they'll be in business 5 years from now.

Really all i want and i don't know why these aren't a thing.. A high rise truck cap with a door two windows and a simple manual slide out for the bed on one side and one on the other side for the kitchen area (400# drawer slides from lowes and lock in or out with pins) leaving the center open as living space.. Which then each person can load it out the way they see fit..

      As an actual boat building professional which includes fiberglass, and also with an extensive background in custom motorhomes, let me explain something to you. The texture you see in the surface of these vehicles is standard in most RVs and trailers. The fiberglass siding is premade and comes on a roll which is cut to fit and adhered to an existing surface such as luan, for example. It is light weight and easy to work with. The texture you see is the chopped strand fiberglass used to make this material. It is nothing like what you would see on a boat. Proper fiberglass campers and trailers are made with gelcoat and molds and will most likely meet the higher standards of boat builders like us. They also cost a lot more, hold their value a lot longer and are highly saut after due to their superior quality. But they are relatively rare to find.
      I see other issues like actuator syncranacity for the expandable top and the lack of a screen door to name just a couple. But these young guys appear to be way ahead of their competition when they were at their own early stages. I hope they forge ahead and keep building! The current market is perfect for a new rv or camper company today. Manufacturers can't keep up with current demands.
