Thinking about this since I viewed it over 3 hours ago and decided if someone is going to out do me they will have to belly up to the bar. And when we eventually meet, you owe me the first pint, just saying. My day started off pretty rough around 4 AM but this video made me smile and laugh as I could relate to way too many and that was way before I realized you were doing a lot of really cool shout outs. So my hats off to you and Cheers! Congrats on the new place again!

Huge Thank you! I was just enjoying the video and didn't expect the shout out and it was much appreciated. (I'm in Jacksonville, FL, and will be in Ashville, NC to go to some White Labs training Sept 19th to 21st as I love Beer Yeast and want to learn even more! 🍻). I usually pull up your channel or one of the many ones you mentioned and let them run on auto-pilot (without an Ad Blocker) under my Bitter Reality login and under my personal login and just let the ads play to help kick a little more pocket change to other home brewers I like to watch and learn from.
And the shirt thing...I wonder just how many people watched this video and didn't catch that as it was like 10 seconds into that part and I was like...hey where did his shirt go? A lot like watching a Bill Idol concert...he is so intense you don't even realize the entire backdrop of props have changed until like 5 minutes after it has happened. (Saw him for free many years ago and he actually wasn't drunk out of his mind, great show with him and Steve Stevens jamming out).

@@chrisz8532 Awesome! I saw the B52's in a different show but The Cult opened for Billy Idol as they did an amazing show too. Sadly I never got to see Hunters and Collectors. I grew up in the 80's (teen years) and the only thing I regret (as I partied a LOT in Miami mainly) is not going to more concerts. My biggest regret was missing David Bowie as I was in boot camp with the Army at the time.

Glad to hear you are able to do this full time. Lucky for me I have a solid job that pays way more than I could dream of making here, but I have always enjoyed the teaching/mentoring side and the channel is good motivation to keep me brewing and learning. Odd how there are some really good brewers with maybe 2K subs and random "watch me put on my makeup" channels have 300K subs.

I find it hard enough to fit in brew days, nevermind filming, editing, etc. I work at a homebrew shop and homebrewing is definately on the rise especially due to covid and how a lot of companies are changing (people working from home). I totally forgot you moved to Knoxville, TN. My wife and I were in the area, Nashville and Gatlinburg, last week.
I know I haven't made anything, wine namely, in the last several months for the simple fact of time commitment.
Between work and have a 16 month old running around the house; getting everything together, cleaning everything, starting the brew, maintaining the brew, getting the bottling stuff together, cleaning everything, bottling, waiting, then finally consuming... It is way easier to just go buy a bottle or case of what I want.
I'm still looking at recipes, buying supplies little by little, and enjoying telling others about the craft.
Just waiting for that rainy day that I can start my next project.

I started Home Brewing in 1989 - have not done any brewing in many years at home mainly due to the awesome amount and quality of beer on my local liquor store. It is a lot of work - my wife was my partner: mostly when it was time to bottle. Always liked to make my own bottle labels - not much on kegging. I was the brewer at a small Brew Pub in my area - guess I was the oldest (85) commercial brewer in the US???? Age has caught up with me and just can not lift easily 50 pound bags of grain and full 15 gallon kegs. Retirement suits me just fine right now.

I have a list of about 35 BrewTube channels I watch regularly and yours is amongst the best. I know there's ebb and flow in the homebrew space, but as long as there are great breweries putting out excellent beers there are going to be people who want to emulate, imitate, and innovate. Truly the reason I homebrew; that and the comradery of hanging out with people on a brew day- some of the best times ever!
I've actually been considering starting my own channel. Not for fame, glory, or money (most of which would be cool), but because I think I have a unique and creative perspective on what I do and hope people would benefit from my ideas. Would love to pick your brain sometime on what it would take to get started the right way.
Please keep up the great content!

This is seriously the realest video I've even seen dissecting the reality of BrewTube content creation. Damn, C.H.! There's no way I could do my Chop & Brew channel as my sole income. Patreon supporters and Imperial Yeast sponsorship fuels the drive and motivation to keep it going. But I get burned out a lot, esp now with a toddler-ass nugget running around. Another hard thing about videos is that it's so much easier to shoot cool stuff than to find time to edit it. I have at least 20+ episodes from as far back as 2016 that could/should be edited: brew days, cooperage tour, road trip to Noway. Just tough to find the time. More power to you for keeping H4L strong. Thanks for shouting out the Day Job at NB as well, my dude.

Laziness and sobriety are my enemies! I fight with them every day. I'm a big fan of Brew-Dudes RUclips content. They are up in Massachusetts and they have been putting out weekly content for a quite a while. Good dudes. Entertaining beer-related content without being too whacky or too beer-nerdy.

Full on agree that Brewing is a Job. Goddamn, waking up at 6am only to finish around 3pm after all the cleaning and shit. Absolute effort.
Thanks for a great informative video dude! Maybe when beer starts reaching the heights of £20 for a 6-pack we'll get a huge bump of homebrewing numbers!

Interesting take - as a relatively new home brewer myself, I was amazed with just HOW MUCH content I have found about brewing online. That is one of the nice things about brewing content - once it's up it's up. But it makes it harder for active content creators to be fresh and interesting. I mean - how many ways can you talk about how a hydrometer works? But you guys make the content FUN. I mean - no other hydrometer talk has an MBC!
(Actually I can't remember if yours does either now that I think about it...)

It’s channels like yours that got me back into brewing after a 20 year hiatus. I keep it simple with partial mashes due to equipment limitations but I am happy with my results! Thanks for the shoutouts, I follow most of them & will look at the others. Keep home brewing alive. Cheers all 🍺🍺🍺🍺

I came across the Homebrew 4 Life channel (a few years ago while brewing extract kits) googling force carbonation and found the video with Maury lifting a corny keg saying "and that's what drinking beer and kegging beer is all about" - I never looked back. Homebrewing is like cooking. Sure it takes work, effort and time, but ultimately it's your creation.
Easy to get bogged down in salt content, temps, hop schedule and whatever else homebrew forums bang on about 'you must do', but man, homebrewing will never die (and nor will the opinions online haha) - it's a niche for sure but man, here in Australia - it's booming.
Never lose the 80s/90s style. Love this channel and I use your food recipes (and Beer-n-BBQ Larry's too) for great sessions. Hoppy Hour for the win!

Yo I got burned out homebrewing and came back to it last year. I was just an extract guy before I took a hiatus. When I came back I decided to try all grain. I have never had as much success that I am having now. Thanks to channels like yours and Clawhammer, I got brave enough to go for it. I use the Brewers Edge Mash and boil with pump system. It's definitely an entry level system but works very well for me. Keep up the great content.

I’m not usually a commenter (and my picture was different last time), but I started brewing 2 years ago. Your videos are entertaining and informative - I steal your recipes, set up my pressure fermenter with your homemade directions, and scare my wife with your ringtone.
Seriously, mandatory beer chug is my ringtone and she jumps every time I get a phone call (it’s always spam).

Sometimes you just have to enjoy life and have fun in what you do. Just found your channel a few weeks ago, Lots of good info and entertaining. I noticed in recessions that more people get into brewing. they work less hours and have less money to spend so making premium beers cheap is an added bonus.
